“My 7 month puppy stayed with Cristina over the day. I can only say good things about the experience. Hazel was happy when I picked her up and it was fun with a doggy friend. Cristina seems to really love dogs and was sending updates and really seemed to care about Hazel. She also took her to the park. I liked Cristina’s warm and positive personality. Will book again”

“Ru and family are very nice and warm with dogs. She has a dog as well and knows how to handle one very well. She requested a meet and greet to ensure Gabbar and her dog got along. She timely sent pictures and updates for Gabbar and followed his schedule through. She had a neighbors dog come along to her place when gabbar was there for a play date and Gabbar enjoyed a lot. I would definitely have Ru look over Gabbar again and would recommend others as well.”

“Jesse is one of the few people who isn’t intimidated by a big dog. He is kind and calm and is very good with communication. Storm is cared for while in his care. I hope he’s ready to see a LOT more of us :)”

About: I have had my dog Samba for about 8 years. When we adopted him I promised my parents that I would walk and take care of him, and I have kept. that promise ever since 😆. I also enjoy pet sitting for friends and neighbors dogs/cats/guinea pigs/bearded dragons. I’m an incoming college freshman and I want to stay busy doing something fun before school starts in late September. I’m an incoming college freshman and I want to stay busy doing something fun before school starts in late September. I am essentially free every day and most of the time, the whole day. I’m also willing to wake up early or stay up late. I think it really depends on the type of pet, but for dogs I usually let them out in the morning after waking up, right before going to bed, and any time in between that they need to go. Walks will be 1-2 times a day to the park or around the neighborhood, and playing in the backyard is an option too if the dog seems interested. In a clients home it will probably be the same, or different as requested.
“Pissamas, was waiting in front of her house o greet us and our dog LuLu . She sent pictures and video of LuLu several times during the stay which reassured us that LuLu was doing OK. We will definitely be using Pissamas again for future boarding”

“Ahiram and her husband are amazing daycare sitters. They were very attentive and incredible with updates and responsiveness. Love the patience with our two kraken monsters (our dogs lol)”

“My 12-year-old dog was in great hands! Amy was patient, caring, and kept me updated while I was at work, which gave me peace of mind. If you’re looking for someone who truly loves dogs and cares for their well being, I highly recommend Amy!”

“Sofiya was very kind. It was my first time leaving my dog with someone. She sent pictures of Westley so I felt better about leaving him. He looked like he was having a wonderful time. He was in a great mood when I picked him up!”

“Ana was very caring to our little dog. She’s very thorough and amazing. So lucky to have her take care of Inday. She sends us pictures and videos to keep us updated. Very much recommended!”

“So delighted to find Madhumita. Her quiet affectionate calm and patience letting my dog, who has a trauma history, come our of his shell was just what he needed to feel comfortable. Her elderly lab is also a friendly, calm, and reassuring presence. So happy to see my pup relax and make himself at home-- in her home!”

“My dog had a wonderful day of daycare with Grace! I was very impressed with the amount of thought and care she puts into watching the dogs, and I appreciated the updates she sent me throughout the day. I would happily send my dog to Grace again!”

“Diane was gracious and kind taking my last minute request. My large anxious reactive (barking) dog is not the easiest guy to watch, but Diane always gives him a lot of love. Thank you!!”

“My pet Oreo enjoyed his stay at Elliott's place. I received updates and pictures during the stay. Elliott is an experienced Dog sitter and he evaluated Oreo before boarding him. Most importantly he asked the right questions.I highly recommend Elliott.”

“Norelvis and her husband came in so clutch for our little demon corgs because we had to go to a wedding in Los Gatos 😭 Their girl Ai kauri is also such a sweetheart. Cannot recommend enuff!!”

“Bhumi seems like a very nice woman, and I believe she takes care of Coco nicely and patiently. If she can send a text or a picture of Coco to show me how she is doing, that would help me feel more relaxed, especially at the beginning of the few times.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for friends, relatives and clients for years. Our house is their pets’ second home when they travel or need us. I can do the same for you, too. During the weekend I am mostly home. Weekdays, I partially work from office and home. There is plenty of time to spend time with your pet or walk them frequently. My husband works from home full time, so there is always one or two adults at home. We live in a single house with a fenced backyard, and there is a big greenbelt right outside our backyard ( see images). Therefore it’s very convenient for frequent walks or play time for your pet. They can also meet other dogs as well. As a family, we are comfortable with being around furry friends. We volunteer with my daughters at a local farm cleaning, caring, patting…. Love it! Our own cat-Zeytin is very calm and friendly. We love to play, walk, cuddle, spend some quiet time with our pet and guest pets and will do the same with yours, too. Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! Nevin
“Natasha is a great sitter and it felt so good to find a knowledgeable trustworthy person to watch our baby girl. She took the time to introduce Kali to the other dogs and get her settled in. She also sent us pictures and updated us on how she was doing. We were able to enjoy a day hike! Thank you Natasha! We hope to see you again when we are back in the area.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Shannon
Amy is fantastic! She is loving and attentive and Nova felt right at home and made fast friends with sweet Coco and the crew! Nova looks forward to her days exploring and lazing in the sun with her new pack. I would highly recommend Amy. She’s great at communication and is experienced with caring for dogs of all sizes 🐾

Eris was amazing, kind, and patient! Misty is a shy girl and it was her first time at daycare in a long time. Eris sent so many photos and videos of Misty, and you can tell she really cared about Misty. I would bring Misty back for daycare without hesitation! Thank you, Eris, for taking such good care of Misty.

Samie loved staying with Krystal! Krystal was very communicative and sent pictures throughout the day. Samie usually takes a while to warm up to people, but by the second day, she was wagging her tail and barking as we pulled up! We will be working with Krystal again soon. :)

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Shannon commute.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
