“Luna had a wonderful stay with Sofiya and came home happy, relaxed, and tired. Sofiya sent daily updates and photos, and seeing Luna’s big smile in the pictures made it easy to know she was in great hands. I would definitely recommend Sofiya and would be happy to book with her again!”

“Jennifer is just great. Professional, conscientious, responsive and best of all, my dog was happy and waggy and completely non-stressed when I picked him up. Highly recommend Jennifer!”

“We had a sitter for our pup for 3 yrs and had to find him a new sitter since we moved. After looking at several sitter we ate really happy and blessed to find Christy and her family. They are very loving and caring and took a very good care of our pup. They also shared an update with a picture which gave us a peace of mind that our puppy is well taken care of. Thank you Christy and family!”

“It’s been a while since we’ve wanted to travel and had to think about boarding our dogs. We recently found Steve and did a meet and greet and it was very obvious that our pups were comfortable with him and he was comfortable with them. We booked a one day stay as a trial and our dogs clearly had a blast. Our dogs were so much happier having spent a day with Steve than being stuck alone at home. Highly recommended!”

“We are grateful for Kelly taking good care of our boy. He loved her yard and quickly felt comfortable with her. She was able to introduce a second client to him with little to no trouble which I think speaks to her confidence and knowledge of dog psychology. She sent several updates throughout the day with photos and provided lots of open communication throughout the booking process. Our dog tends to protest food when he is not at home (even when on vacation with us) and he ate all the food we left for him at Kelly’s. Great job! We will book Kelly again when we need her.”

“I was lucky to find Michelle and Michael. My dog is young golden retriever with high energy. Michelle and Michael gave my dog plenty of cuddles and attention. They gave my dog long walk and played fetch with him. Michelle sent me updates frequently that helped relieve my separation anxiety. I couldn't be happier to have my dog stay with Michelle and Michael, who are really nice and caring people.”

“We are so grateful for Nadia! She took care of our 2 pups for 8 days and was absolutely wonderful. From the start, she was so pleasant, attentive, and clearly loved our dogs as if they were her own. She went above and beyond—sending us consistent updates, photos, and videos every day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our pups got lots of love and extra attention, and honestly, they still miss her! It’s rare to find someone so dependable and caring, and we couldn’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for a dog sitter who truly connects with pets. Thank you, Nadia!”

“Just like everyone’s fear specially your if you ever trust someone to care your family member. No doubt Leah is very kind, loving to my little fur (Hershey). She keep us posted everyday just like having a dairy for our dog. She will make sure that we have a piece of mind not to worry about our dog when we are away. I will definitely recommend her to anyone who loves their fur. Big Thank You Leah and her partner as well.”

“Jesse is amazing. I have a large dog with special needs and Jesse goes above and beyond to accommodate. Moving here from Vegas was nervous to find someone that would be a good fit, but Jesse is just that. Stoked for all the love he shows my boy and will be returning any time the need arises.”

“My foster dog Baby had a wonderful stay with Tanya and her daughter. Their home is basically doggy heaven, and Baby enjoyed the huge lawn and tons of love and care accordingly. Baby looks forward to her next visit!”

“Mamie and Chen were exceptional sitters for my dog Pippa this past weekend, taking her on short notice and going out of their way to make Pippa feel very happy and comfortable during her stay. They did a great job accommodating her specific needs and managing her medications. They kept us updated with great photos and insightful observations and feedback. Pippa loved their cozy apartment complex, which is nestled in redwoods and walking-distance from a nice park. We will definitely be reaching out to Mamie and Chen again for future stays!”

“My corgi has a lovely time with Dapeng and her family. He stayed with her for a month and spent every day playing with other dogs, taking walks and hanging out with her family. Would definitely use her services again!”

“Would definitely book again! Him and his family were caring and kind to her while we were away for a few days. He sent multiple updates throughout her stay. Finally found a permanent sitter to come.”

“I would definitely book again with Aadya! She was great and my anxious dog came back very happy from her house. I have a senior dog who requires medication and loves being an only child. I love how she only boards one dog at a time.”

“This was our third time dropping off Ruby at Diana’s. Once we arrived she got so excited to be at Diana’s that she didn’t even care when we said goodbye. It broke my heart but she was happy!”

“Bali was great! Frida felt very comfortable with the family and got her daily snuggles. She’s Very accommodating since our pup loves to cuddle up on a bed or couch.”

“I highly recommend Azadeh’s services! She recently took care of my dog Kona for 4 days and I could have not asked for a better experience. From our first interaction she was incredibly professional, punctual and reliable. More importantly, she was so loving and caring towards my dog Kona, treating him just like her own. Furthermore, my dog required medicine twice a day at a precise time. That was accomplished to perfection which eased my mind and made my vacation more relaxing. Lastly, she had a lovely home and backyard and texted me on Kona’s status quite often. I will definitely book her again!”

Jason was great!!! We left our dog with him for about a week. We adopted our dog and usually she gets so much anxiety when we leave, but this time she seemed really relaxed. Jason is very calm, has a large backyard and gave her tons of attention. He also gave us an update each day. Thank you so much!!!

Nova had a fantastic time staying with Amy amd Coco for 4 nights. The check ins and photos were fun - and I loved that Nova was on a vacation while I was away on business. I highly recommend Amy she has a wonderful way with animals and a loving gentle energy - I am so glad I found her!

This is the second time that Terry and Carole have watched Boone and Nova and were yet again blown away by their hospitality ❤️ they were very welcoming with our dogs routines/ feeding schedules and we never felt like we were burdening them with our care requests (ex. doggy teeth brushing) ! We received many fun updates and pictures throughout their stay and felt so at ease with our dogs in their care. Boone and Nova were very well loved and we honestly couldn’t have asked for better hosts!

Nathan watched my 4 yr old labradoodle, Bug, for 10 days recently while I was on vacation. He kept me updated with pictures and videos of Bug and let me know overall how he was doing and settling in. Felt comfortable and confident that Bug was happy and being well taken care of. He was tired and happy when I picked him up.

We had a wonderful experience with Valentina and her husband! They were very flexible and accommodating, even though we weren’t able to meet beforehand. Our dogs got along great, and we received lots of photos and updates throughout the stay. We felt completely comfortable and knew our dog was in great hands. We would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them

Lin is truly phenomenal. Before Muesli was dropped off, she made thorough inquiries about her diet, daily routine, likes and dislikes, as well as any emergency protocol. Once Muesli arrived at her home, she was cared for with such loving attention, it felt like she was a member of the family. From the photos I received twice a day, I could see how comfortable Muesli was in Lin’s home, spending time with different members of her family, and having a wonderful time playing, walking, and napping together with Lin’s super-friendly and well-behaved pups, Ccino and Meebao. Lin also takes amazing photos. They capture the very essence of Muesli enjoying her treats and toys, going on walks, and playing with Ccino and Meebao. We looked at the photos over and over, sharing a good laugh at her silly antics and, most importantly, knowing that she was happy and in such good hands. I highly recommend Lin to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet not simply as a guest, but truly as a member of the family. Muesli was clearly very happy with Lin and her family, and I would absolutely trust Lin with Muesli again.

We are very happy with the care that Eris provided for our pup. Our pup is a large shepherd who never stayed at a household with other dogs so we were nervous. Eris made sure to introduce them slowly and seperate as necessarily. It turned out he did great with all the doggie friends and had a great time. Eris also provided multiple videos and pictures throughout the day so we know how he was doing and each video put a smile on our faces. We highly recommend Eris for pet boarding/sitting service.

It was our first time leaving Nash with Tingting, and she was amazing! She is very friendly, thoughtful, and attentive, and she kept us updated throughout his stay. Her care and attention to detail made us feel completely at ease. We knew Nash was in good hands and would gladly book with her again. Highly recommended!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Shannon home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Shannon.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Shannon sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
