Information Yancy C. would like to know about your pet

I usually ask the pets' owners about their health during a meeting to find out if the pets have any health problems or diseases, including allergies, chronic diseases, medication needs, etc. I also record the pets' common veterinary contact information for emergency use. The second is eating habits and behavioral personality characteristics. Such as whether they are friendly, shy, active, and prone to anxiety. Have a detailed interview with the pet owner to ensure that you understand all the necessary information. After taking over the pet, pay attention to observe and record the pet's behavior and reaction, adjust the care method at any time and let the pet owner know when necessary. I think knowing this information in advance can help me better provide personalized care for the pets and ensure that they feel comfortable and safe during the foster care period.

A typical day

First, I like to take them for walks and outdoor activities. If the dog is energetic, I can arrange a run or hike. Or take the dogs to the dog park to interact with other pets. Secondly, I like to play toys and games with the pets. I will use toys such as balls, Frisbees, and leash to interact with them. And hide some toys or snacks in my house or yard for the pets to find. Or run around with the pets and play chasing games. Finally, I will do basic training and intelligence games with the pets. For example, practice basic commands such as sit, shake hands, and lie down. Teach the pets some new skills or tricks, such as rolling, turning in circles, etc.

Pet care experience

Since I can remember, dogs have always been a part of my life. From a young age, I took on the responsibility of caring for the family pet – bathing it, preparing meals, and taking it for walks every day. This wasn't just a duty; it marked the beginning of a profound bond between me and the dogs. As I grew older and entered the workforce, I decided to have a pet of my own, leading me to the adorable Teddy dog I have now. She was a little puppy when I first welcomed her into my life, witnessing my joys and sorrows as we grew together. Now, she has entered the twilight years at the age of twelve, and my dedication to her care and well-being has never waned. Over the years, I've personally nurtured her, not only in the routine aspects of daily care but also in addressing occasional health issues that come with aging. Perhaps due to the inevitable passage of time, she encounters minor health challenges from time to time, but I always approach them with patience and compassion. From simple colds to joint problems, each bout of illness has been an opportunity to deepen our connection and showcase my caregiving skills. I take pride in the fact that, even at the age of twelve, she remains in good health. Through a balanced diet, regular exercise, and routine veterinary check-ups, I ensure she maintains a healthy and joyful life. She isn't just a pet; she is an indispensable friend in my life, and her companionship enriches and adds meaning to my existence. In my heart, she will forever be the companion who silently stands by me. Regardless of what happens, I am steadfast in my commitment to her well-being. This beautiful and profound story not only connects the emotional bond between me and my dog but also highlights my genuine passion and extensive experience in pet care.

We are fortunate to have found Yancy and her family to sit our dog and cat. Over the years, they have been consistently kind, communicative, and reliable. They are the best pet sitter anyone could hope for.

Yancy was an amazing pet sitter for our dog Jing and cat Pudding during the 2024/2025 holiday week. She graciously agreed to sit our pets when a previously booked sitter canceled in the last minute. She and her family welcomed us and took great care of Jing and Pudding. She was warm, attentive, and very friendly. She followed our care instructions to a T and communicated daily, providing detailed updates that really eased our mind. Jing happened to be coming out of an allergy episode at the start of the week, and we were a little worried about his recovery. But Yancy’s great care completely eliminated our worries, and both of Jing and Pudding were healthy and happy when we picked them up at the end of the week. I would strongly recommend Yancy and will book her again in the future for sure.
