“Diane is a very kind and attentive sitter. I dropped Teddy off for daycare and she was very warm and welcoming to him. Her house is very spacious and has a big yard for dogs to run around. I can tell he felt very comfortable at her place. Thank you so much for today 😊”

“So delighted to find Madhumita. Her quiet affectionate calm and patience letting my dog, who has a trauma history, come our of his shell was just what he needed to feel comfortable. Her elderly lab is also a friendly, calm, and reassuring presence. So happy to see my pup relax and make himself at home-- in her home!”

“We loved our stay with Sofiya! Our golden retriever Caymus had such a fun time! We absolutely loved the communication from her as well. She provided a photo, his report card and a great update on him as well! Highly recommend her!!”

“Vinod took very good care of Neeli. Neeli had a wonderful time playing with Shadow. Vinod sent frequent updates, pictures, kept both of them very active. Neeli will definitely go to their place again.”

“Couldn't be happier with how they take care of my dog Reese. Give me good feedback and have been adaptable to my work schedule. Don't know what I would have done without them since I got Reese!”

About: I've been a dog lover and owner my entire life — with over 25 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. From energetic puppies to senior dogs needing extra TLC, I understand what it takes to keep them happy, healthy, and loved. I treat every dog that comes into our home like my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. We recently lost our senior pup to old age, and after 15 years with him, our home feels quiet without him. We are not ready to add a new dog to our family yet, so hoping pet sitting will fill our hearts with the paws that feel missing. I work from home 3-4 days a week & have a very energetic toddler who will keep your pup entertained! I am always outside and go on daily walks with or without a dog! My home is a clean, pet-friendly space with secure doors and fenced outdoor access, ensuring your pup can explore safely. I keep hazardous items like food and cleaning products out of reach. Dogs have access to cozy resting spots, fresh water at all times, and plenty of space to play, relax, or cuddle.
“This was our second time using Natasha to watch our two pups! They remembered her and the space and were very excited to be back! Natasha is always very warm and welcoming and extremely accommodating! We will definitely be using her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I moved back to the bay in 2020. I work from home, and my I recently moved in with my sister who also helps take care of the pups (she is a former mini Aussie owner). I can generally take out the pups very 2-4 hours and treat them as my own. I was going to foster but life got in the way (I recently had surgery in my mouth, so you will see my speech has been slightly affected) Hello there - primarily open for house sitting in SF proper for minimum of 1 week for March and April. - if it’s 2+ weeks, we can negotiate on price depending on circumstance. Just FYI so you are not surprised, I recently had a surgery in my mouth so I have a slight speech impediment. ____________________________________________
About: I work from home so your dogs will be with me most of the time. I have a three year old mini schnauzer whom I adopted when she was a puppy so I am familiar with dog care. I typically took my dog out twice a day for a 30-40 mins long walk as well as a short potty break in the middle of the day. I work from home so I will be able to care for your dog while you are away. My household includes two kids (age 10 and 12) who also love dogs and a a three year old Mini Schnauzer named Jigglypuff. Jiggly loves having a playmate I have a fenced yard with spacious lawn to play. I do have a swimming pool without a fence, i don't let my dog out unless I am out in the backyard. Dogs will sleep on their own bed either in the living room/family room or my bedroom. Dogs are allowed on our sofa but not our beds.

Cheryl and Ed were great with Bailey. They respond quickly to messages and were great about keeping us updated. They sent several pics and videos which we greatly appreciated. They have good knowledge about the correct way to introduce dogs slowly. Bailey had fun during her stay and we won't hesitate to leave Bailey with Cheryl and Ed again.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
