“So delighted to find Madhumita. Her quiet affectionate calm and patience letting my dog, who has a trauma history, come our of his shell was just what he needed to feel comfortable. Her elderly lab is also a friendly, calm, and reassuring presence. So happy to see my pup relax and make himself at home-- in her home!”

“Diane is a very kind and attentive sitter. I dropped Teddy off for daycare and she was very warm and welcoming to him. Her house is very spacious and has a big yard for dogs to run around. I can tell he felt very comfortable at her place. Thank you so much for today 😊”

About: I work from home so your dogs will be with me most of the time. I have a three year old mini schnauzer whom I adopted when she was a puppy so I am familiar with dog care. I typically took my dog out twice a day for a 30-40 mins long walk as well as a short potty break in the middle of the day. I work from home so I will be able to care for your dog while you are away. My household includes two kids (age 10 and 12) who also love dogs and a a three year old Mini Schnauzer named Jigglypuff. Jiggly loves having a playmate I have a fenced yard with spacious lawn to play. I do have a swimming pool without a fence, i don't let my dog out unless I am out in the backyard. Dogs will sleep on their own bed either in the living room/family room or my bedroom. Dogs are allowed on our sofa but not our beds.
“Vinod took care of Bobby very well Let my dog play with his dog in backyard and trained Bobby on pulling rope with his dog Overall I am very happy about Bobby stay and the service”

“Very happy with the Grace’s day care for Puppins. She is very methodical and provides regular updates with pictures. The best part is Puppins enjoying her place as it was difficult to get her home as she kept pulling to go back with Grace. Looking forward to boarding with Grace.”

“Ana was very caring to our little dog. She’s very thorough and amazing. So lucky to have her take care of Inday. She sends us pictures and videos to keep us updated. Very much recommended!”

“Florence and Wen did an AMAZING job watching our dog while we were at work. They were so kind, caring, and considerate and gave great updates. Most importantly, our dog loved them! We’d recommend them to everyone and can’t wait for our dog to stay with them again!”

About: I've been a dog lover and owner my entire life — with over 25 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. From energetic puppies to senior dogs needing extra TLC, I understand what it takes to keep them happy, healthy, and loved. I treat every dog that comes into our home like my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. We recently lost our senior pup to old age, and after 15 years with him, our home feels quiet without him. We are not ready to add a new dog to our family yet, so hoping pet sitting will fill our hearts with the paws that feel missing. I work from home 3-4 days a week & have a very energetic toddler who will keep your pup entertained! I am always outside and go on daily walks with or without a dog! My home is a clean, pet-friendly space with secure doors and fenced outdoor access, ensuring your pup can explore safely. I keep hazardous items like food and cleaning products out of reach. Dogs have access to cozy resting spots, fresh water at all times, and plenty of space to play, relax, or cuddle.
“Our lab puppy Bella had a great time with Alice! Bella enjoyed her stay playing with the dogs. Alice provided us with photo and video updates throughout the day. We felt that she was kind and loving and we would be happy to send Bella back again. We highly recommend her!”

“Sofiya took great care of Ollie (75 lbs, lots of energy) and she was very flexible with my hectic work schedule. Lola and Ollie quickly became good friends and he always loves going there!”

“Natasha is fantastic! Highly recommend her for any pet stays or daycare. I always feel good knowing my dogs are in good hands with her. She’s so kind and loving with them. 😁”

“Lola is a very shy girl and has a lot of separation anxiety but Trishalee was so sensitive and made sure that Lola had some play time, quiet time and affection to make her feel comfortable. I will be booking again.”

“Linda did an amazing job looking after Peach. She was very attentive and patient with Peach's needs (my dog can be a bit anxious) and sent updates throughout the day. This was my first Rover experience and it went really well. I highly recommend Linda because she treats your pup as if it were her own!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Li-Ting as my dog sitter. She took care of our dog, Kobe, for the day, and I couldn’t have asked for a more kind and attentive caregiver. Kobe immediately felt comfortable with her, and she made sure he got his treats, eye drops, and medication on time. She also kept me updated throughout the day with lots of pics and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. Her dog, FaCai, was so sweet and friendly, and Kobe enjoyed having such a gentle companion during his stay. When we picked him up, Kobe was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. I truly appreciate Li-Ting’s patience, reliability, and loving approach. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter for their furry family member!”

“Eris was willing to take on my 3-year-old rescue corgi for daycare, who is very sweet but needs a lot of manners training (very excitable, barky, and pulls on walks). Eris helped her work on loose leash walking, and they worked on focus in the yard to stop the barking, & even got her to go on some calm non-pulling walks (a first!). Eris returned her to me so calm and tired out that she's now at my feet being a very good girl :) I also received lots of cute photos and videos throughout the day, & it made me really glad to see how happy she was & how well she was being taken care of. Thank you again, Eris!”

Cheryl and Ed were great with Bailey. They respond quickly to messages and were great about keeping us updated. They sent several pics and videos which we greatly appreciated. They have good knowledge about the correct way to introduce dogs slowly. Bailey had fun during her stay and we won't hesitate to leave Bailey with Cheryl and Ed again.

Neeli had a great time at Sujatha’s home.Sujatha is very friendly, easy to communicate and a wonderful host. She is very caring, sent regular updates, pictures. Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Saratoga commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
