“Kristin is truly the best. A God send! She's so attentive of the needs of the fur babies that it takes all your worries away. I can't thank her enough for going above and beyond. I wish I could show get how much we appreciate all that she did for us. A tip just didn't seem to be enough. Thank you Kristin for all your love to our four legged family.”

“Sandy was great! She took time to come over the day before to meet our boys and get comfortable with them, she arrived early and took great care of our fur babies. We would definitely call Sandy again!”

“Excellent communication with prompt replies to all of my messages. A meet and greet was proactively requested before the first dog walk which is typically something I need to ask for. Always on time for the walks. No issues at all. Would definitely use again.”

“I don't even know where to begin. Yun is such a blessing! She is so attentive, friendly and my pup Millie just LOVES her. Don't hesitate booking Yun in any capacity. She is the best. Thanks again, Yun!”

“Yu-Wen did a great job caring for our cats. Typically Yuki and Akira are shy and run from new people. My husband and I could tell from the first pictures Yu-Wen sent us, our girls were very comfortable and happy. You-Wen kept us well informed on how are girls were doing. We highly recommend him and we do plan to book him in the future.”

I'll leave your home as you left it and take such good care of your pets with whatever they need.
“Debbie went above and beyond watching our two fur babies. If Lupini & Truffle could leave 10/5 stars they would! She loved and cared for them like they were her own. We are so lucky to have found Debbie!”
“Anke has been amazing with our Zoey, she’s is prompt follows the instructions we have to help us maintain our training with Zoey. Anke has been a great find for our Zoey and our family. The Arteaga’s”

“I cannot recommend Riley enough! She took care of my dog, Honeybee, over the weekend, and her updates were nothing short of amazing. Every day, I received detailed, thoughtful reports that made me feel completely at ease while I was away. She not only ensured Honeybee got plenty of exercise, fresh air, and engagement, but she also took the time to observe her moods and behaviors, adjusting their routine accordingly. From peaceful morning strolls through José Ave Park to curious moments watching birds at the harbor, her reports painted a picture of not just a caregiver, but a true companion for my pup. I loved how attentive she was to Honeybee’s hydration, food intake, and overall well-being. Plus, the little cuddle sessions before she left were such a sweet touch! It’s clear she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches. If you’re looking for someone reliable, caring, and communicative, Riley is the absolute best. I’ll definitely be booking her again in the future!”

About: Rover Hi there! I’m Elizabeth (Liz) and I love animals. Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed about the moment I’ll have my own dog. It was until I had my own place (with my husband lol) that I was able to own a dog and it’s been a blast!! I own an airedale terrier, medium-large size, so I can perfectly handle up to a 60 lbs four-legged baby! I love to spend time with him and even to travel with him anywhere he can explore! Currently living in the Cambrian area and I’m open to commute up to 8 miles around. My availability may change so please message me for more info so we can find a time that fits. I can feed, play, walk with your pup, and always make them feel great and loved! I am more than willing to learn how to take care of other pets if needed (sorry, just no cats cause I’m allergic) Requested information about your dog: I would love to know any fun facts about your pup so I can help them have the best time and feel safe around me. Info like favorite toys, favorite treats and food, favorite game, etc. are totally useful! ( Also keep in hand medical information such as allergies or emergency vet info) During the walk: I’ll give a 20-30 min walk, through your neighborhood, if there’s any dog park close I can also take them so we can enjoy some running or fetching game.
About: I've had three dogs in my life. I have some training experience with them and have cared for many of my friends' and acquaintances' pets. Looking forward to supporting wherever I can I have pretty open availability right now. Though I do have a daughter in high school, who needs me for drop off and pick ups. It should not be a hindrance b I keep my cats indoors. And my dogs as well. They are crate trained so I can crate your pet as well and am familiar with the process of crate training.
“We felt at ease with Megan taking care of our pups while we were out of town. She sent frequent updates, pictures, and was quick to pivot when we changed feeding instructions between our meet and greet and the time she came to care for them. Looking forward to booking with Megan again!”

About: What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy spending calm, attentive time with animals and focusing on their comfort and routine. I currently live with a family dog, which has given me ongoing experience with daily care and understanding pet behavior. In the past, I also cared for a hamster, which taught me responsibility and consistency with small animals. I am especially attentive during drop-in visits and make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and cared for in their familiar environment. I’m a recent graduate currently volunteering with Animal Assisted Happiness on Sundays, with times that vary. I also receive training through San Jose Animal Care Center. My schedule is generally flexible outside of these commitments, and I’m available for drop-in pet care during the week and on other days. For drop-in visits, I provide fresh food and water, clean up after pets (including litter boxes or pads if needed), and spend time with them through companionship and light play. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while I’m there.

About: I have two small dogs (maltipoo’s) of my own and have cared for my relatives/family friends furbabies often. I’m most experienced with smaller dogs however I’m willing to learn to care for any type of pet/species. I’m currently home full time and so my schedule is very flexible! I understand everyone has different schedules so I’m more than happy to accommodate as best I can. I live in a townhome so there’s a small backyard area. The area is safe with lots of families and dog owners in the neighborhood. I’m open to long walks, short walks, sniffari’s, drop ins, etc.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cambrian Park
Highly recommend Holly. Holly made the entire experience seamless and stress-free. She was incredibly professional, respectful, and communicated clearly from start to finish. Holly took great care of my pup, followed all instructions perfectly, and kept me well-updated. I felt completely confident leaving my pet in her hands and will absolutely book with her again!

I highly recommend Yun an (Elva) to watch your fur babies! She is diligent, clean, consistent, and a great communicator. Our dogs had an accident and she went above and beyond with the cleanup. Elva is a natural dog whisperer. Both our babies immediately gravitated to her when it usually takes them some time to adjust to new people. I was anxious hiring a new person to watch our dogs for 5 days, but Elva’s pet care put me at ease!

Katryna was wonderful with our two ragdoll boys. She was very easy to communicate with, sent us thoughtful updates and photos, and made us feel completely comfortable knowing they were in great hands. We’d absolutely love to work with her again in the future and would highly recommend her!

Lexi is super sweet and kind. She is very knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to different cat needs and overall pet care. My cat has special diet needs and Lexi knows exactly what to do, she asks very important questions and communicates well! So lucky to have found her.

Rachel is fantastic - I recently moved to the area and work in vet med so I really know how important it is to find someone you trust! In addition, I have 3 dogs who need a bit of musical chairs rotating their outings, 2 of which are Great Danes. Despite one of the Danes barking at Rachel and the other one initially being afraid, she clearly understood them and knew how to react to have them realize she’s a friend, not a stranger, which can be really hard to come by! She’s a great big dog whisperer!

Gabriel was a wonderful cat sitter for my cat, Moushi. He was always on time and paid great attention to every detail, making sure nothing was overlooked. What I especially appreciated was the time and effort he put into earning Moushi’s trust in the beginning. He was patient and genuinely cared about making her feel comfortable. It gave me great peace of mind knowing that Moushi was in such caring and reliable hands. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful and dependable cat sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
