“Stacey is such a blessing to take care of my fur baby even on a short notice. She is easy to reach out to and very responsive, which is super convenient. Thank you Stacey bfor taking care of Tintin during the Christmas weekend as well.”
“Zola is great! My cat is skittish and my partner’s cat is more outgoing, and she was able to give each the right amount of attention. By the end of our trip, they were right at home with Zola Her updates and fun photos were much appreciated as well; would rebook again!”

About: Growing up with a diverse array of pets instilled a deep understanding of their needs. Specializing in cat and reptile care sets me apart as a reliable sitter. Hi! I’m Lexi, a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for cats, dogs, reptiles, and other household pets. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone dependable, communicative, and genuinely caring. Whether I’m dropping in for a quick visit or providing extended care, I strive to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I have a special soft spot for cats and understand that many need patience and trust before they warm up to someone new. I also enjoy caring for dogs of all sizes and energy levels and am happy to follow any routines that help your pet feel at home. Pet care fits naturally into my routine! I work full-time in San Jose and am available for morning, evening, weekend, and holiday visits. I keep my Rover calendar updated regularly and will always communicate clearly about my availability. I enjoy spending my free time with animals and love helping pet parents feel confident their pets are cared for while they’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I believe consistency helps pets feel secure, so I do my best to maintain their normal feeding, exercise, playtime, and medication schedules. I treat every home with respect and provide regular photo updates and communication throughout each visit. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel comfortable, relaxed, and well cared for while you’re apart.
“Bre’anna was an absolute pleasure and took wonderful care of our kitties. The check ins were thoughtful and if anything came up she made sure to put best effort into communicating with me and sorting it out. The cats loved her and even on international multi day travel I felt no worries. True animal lover!”

“My husband and I needed somebody to check in on our cats on short notice, and we are glad Li was able help! She took care to leave thorough updates for each visit and was able to give Joey his medication. We would hire Li again to watch our cats.”

“Absolutely love how Hanna takes care of our 4 big babies! She does a wonderful job at taking them out and feeding them! We have an elderly dog who needs extra attention and she takes really great care of her.”

“Olga took very good care of my cat, Koda. She was very flexible and sent updates and pictures everyday. My cat is usually shy and takes time to warm up but with Olga, Koda was open to her petting him on the first meeting! I would definitely rebook with Olga and Boris!”

“Landry was wonderful and patient with our scared kitty while we were away. She managed to find wherever our cat was hiding and snap a picture to reassure us. She tried sitting and playing calming music as well. Thank you Landry for your help caring for and looking after our pet while we were away. Would highly recommend.”

“In the 13th hour, after having a sitter cancel on day 1 of my trip, Meara was incredibly flexible and was able to make room in her schedule to help care for Chicken and Pookie. While the kitties were under her care, she invested time to get to know them. She went above and beyond to not only communicate their needs but their emotional states. If you're looking for a sitter that cares and love your pets, Meara is the person for you!”

“Appreciate Flora for taking our last minute request and drop in for our cat Reggae over weekend. Communication with her was prompt and easy, and she did a great job taking care of Reggae. She also took some of the best looking cat pics. Thank you Flora!”

“We had a great experience with Hsuan-Chu. She took such good care of our cats and really spent time playing with them, which they loved. Clove is usually pretty shy and nervous around new people, but she actually felt comfortable with Hsuan-Chu and even warmed up to her, which meant a lot to us. Cumin also enjoyed spending time with her and clearly had a great time playing. Communication was easy, we always got thoughtful updates, and we could tell they were both happy and well cared for. We’d definitely book with her again.”

“Sejla once again took amazing care of my cats! This was the first time I left the new kitty alone with my other kitty, and Sejla did a great job wearing him out so he wouldn’t be a pest. I’d recommend Sejla to everyone!”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and truly consider them part of the family. I currently have three family pit bulls and one French bulldog, so I’m very comfortable caring for both large, high-energy dogs and smaller breeds with different needs and personalities. I genuinely love spending time with pets—whether that’s going on walks, playing, or just giving them attention and affection. I’m also very attentive and detail-oriented when it comes to care. One of my own dogs has a special diet, so I understand how important it is to stay on top of feeding routines, dietary restrictions, and overall health needs. I treat every dog like my own and aim to provide a safe, fun, and loving environment while you’re away. I work a hybrid schedule, which gives me great flexibility for pet care. About half the week I work from home, so I’m available for walks, playtime, and check-ins throughout the day. I’ll primarily be scheduling dog walks during my work-from-home days and on weekends, when I have more time to give your pet my full attention. I’m reliable, responsive, and always make sure pets stick to their usual routines. I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and structured environment for every pet in my care—whether in my home or my client’s home. My apartment complex has a private dog park where dogs can enjoy space to run and play individually, so they’re not overwhelmed or interacting with unfamiliar dogs. I’m happy to tailor activity to each dog’s needs, whether that’s long walks at nearby parks, shorter neighborhood walks, or more relaxed playtime. I always prioritize safety, so pets will not be around other dogs while in my care unless otherwise requested. I stick closely to your pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, exercise, and any special instructions. I also make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, and mental stimulation so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands.

Because I am on-site continuously, I can provide frequent potty breaks, steady companionship, play breaks, and quick neighborhood walks. I easily adapt to your dog’s specific feeding and exercise schedule without leaving them unattended Safety and peace of mind are my highest priorities. I maintain a clean, organized, and dog-proofed space where pets can relax comfortably. I strictly follow your ground rules, feeding schedules, and walk routines, and I send frequent photo and video updates so you always know your pet is doing great.
About: Since I was a kid, I’ve always had multiple dogs in my house at a time. Taking care of and walking dogs has always been a staple to my everyday routine and overall life. In the past 4 years my family and I have begun to foster dogs of all different ages, breeds, and personalities. They came in and out of our house often and each dog had different needs you had to accommodate for. The most difficult were puppies, who seemed to be either very shy or very energetic. While the dogs stayed at our house I would take on the task of feeding and walking them and overtime I got better and better. I love to work with dogs and I’m so excited to meet and help more dogs in new areas! I’m currently a full-time student at San Jose State University but I will always make time for you dogs! My best time for walking dogs is Tuesday/Thursday afternoons and anytime Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. While for home visits my best times are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I unfortunately cannot care for dogs in my own home but at a client’s home I will make sure to respect any rules and focus on the dog’s needs above any other things. For myself, taking care of dogs at home has always been making sure they’re well fed, well walked, and have everything they need to have a good time.
About: Hi there! My name is Driana, and I’m a passionate dog lover living in San Francisco right near Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach. Growing up, I had a sweet Shih Tzu, and later in life, I raised a Doberman from a tiny puppy all the way into adulthood. While I don’t currently own a dog of my own, caring for pups has always been a huge part of my life, and I’d love to share that love and attention with yours! My availability 🗓️️: - Mon – Sat: Open availability morning through evening! - Sundays: Available upon request with advance notice. - Flexibility: Work as a barista, but schedules come out a week in advance—so if you give me a heads up, I can easily build my shifts around your pet’s exact routine! Home Environment & Compatibility: - Prime Location: I'm located in the Outer Richmond, two blocks from both Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach, giving us immediate access to great, safe walking trails and away from busy streets! - Quiet & Peaceful: I live with dog loving roommates, but to respect their space and our downstairs neighbors, my home is best suited for calm pups who aren't frequent barkers. Safety & Care: - Outdoors: Dogs are always kept securely on leash during park and beach walks. I also have a huge backyard for zoomies/potty breaks throughout the day. - Indoors: I ensure a tidy, dog-proofed space where your pup can relax safely, complete with frequent photo updates to keep you connected throughout their stay :)

We’ve been with Audrey for several months now and absolutely love her! She’s reliable, super communicative, and we completely trust her with our pup. Our dog gets so excited to see her, which says it all! We’re so grateful to have found her and highly recommend Audrey!

Zola was amazing with Darcy and Ivy! She was so attentive and sent detailed updates with photos after every visit, so I always knew exactly how they were doing. The cats were happy, well fed, and the litter was always clean. She was also very respectful of our home. I felt completely at ease while I was away and would absolutely book her again. Highly recommend!

Katryna was wonderful with our two ragdoll boys. She was very easy to communicate with, sent us thoughtful updates and photos, and made us feel completely comfortable knowing they were in great hands. We’d absolutely love to work with her again in the future and would highly recommend her!

Lexi is super sweet and kind. She is very knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to different cat needs and overall pet care. My cat has special diet needs and Lexi knows exactly what to do, she asks very important questions and communicates well! So lucky to have found her.

Marlo was so great!! She dropped in twice a day for a couple days to feed and play with our two kitties. She was punctual and followed instructions well. She also sent updates with photos each visit to reassure our kitties were in good hands which gave us extreme peace of mind 🙏🏼 thank you Marlo!! We’ll see you next time 😊

We felt at ease with Megan taking care of our pups while we were out of town. She sent frequent updates, pictures, and was quick to pivot when we changed feeding instructions between our meet and greet and the time she came to care for them. Looking forward to booking with Megan again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
