My day starts at 6 a.m. I work remotely as a tax preparer and corporate accountant, so I’m home most days of the week. I love my home and the little world I’ve created here with my pets, chickens, and plants. Everyone lives together in perfect harmony because every creature’s needs and wants are listened to, understood, and lovingly cared for.

I have a tall, fully fenced yard with a locking gate for safety. The chickens are kept in a secure enclosure that isn’t accessible to other pets. I have only one neighbor on one side, so it’s a quiet, peaceful space. My dog and cat are very friendly and are used to welcoming new friends into their home.

Información que a Sofiya K. le gustaría saber sobre tu mascota
I don’t require a meet and greet before booking. I usually review each pet’s profile and can tell whether we’ll be a good fit, so please make sure your pet’s information is up to date—especially vaccinations and their level of socialization. If your pet has any triggers, resource guarding behaviors, or alpha tendencies, please include those details. This information helps ensure the safety of your pet and others, and allows me to prevent or correct issues more effectively by knowing what to expect in advance. We all want a positive, safe, and enjoyable experience here on Rover. NO BOWLS, NO BEDS, and ONLY toys you don’t mind losing or getting “destroyed.” Please bring only your dog’s food, treats, and any needed medications. I will provide everything else your pup may want or need during their stay. This helps keep things simple, prevents contamination, and ensures all pets have safe, sanitized supplies. DIARRHEA — yes, it can happen. Not because your pet ate something bad, but because dogs—especially small breeds and puppies—can develop diarrhea from stress, anxiety, or overstimulation in a new environment. I feed each dog individually using only the food you provide, so there is very little to no chance of them ingesting anything they shouldn’t. Stool may sometimes appear loose, mucus-like, or even contain a small amount of blood. According to veterinarians, this can still be normal during short-term digestive upset. As long as your dog is eating, drinking, and acting like themselves, the issue typically resolves on its own within 2–4 days as their tummy settles. Melancholy — yes, this can happen too. We have a very active, happy household where pups stay busy with toys, games, and plenty of cozy spots to rest. They make lots of friends here, get to play in the water, roll around, zoom at full speed in a safe, spacious yard, and enjoy constant companionship. So when they return to a quieter home—especially “only-child” dogs—it’s completely normal for them to feel a little sad, eat less, or seem more subdued. Dogs experience emotions just like we do. You’d be amazed by the depth of their feelings, desires, and social needs when you spend every hour of the day observing and caring for them. Most pups bounce back within a few days as they settle into their routine again. But if the blues linger for more than a week, you’re always welcome to bring your dog back for a playdate to help lift their spirits.

We follow a gentle daily routine that keeps everyone happy, stimulated, and relaxed. The day usually begins with playtime in the backyard, where pups can socialize and burn off energy. Breakfast, medication, and treatments to those who need them. Afterward, they enjoy snack time and a cozy nap—either on the cool grass or inside the air-conditioned living room. Throughout the day, I include a couple of short training sessions to help dogs stay motivated, friendly with one another, and well-mannered. Everything is based on positive reinforcement. Walks are taken with one or two dogs at a time to ensure safety, attention, and a calm experience. We also incorporate cognitive toy play, where pups solve puzzles and work to get treats—great for mental stimulation. More outdoor play follows, then a bit of cleaning or grooming before dinner. After dinner, we take another walk and settle in for a peaceful bedtime.

Experiencia en el cuidado de mascotas
I donate most of the proceeds to support a nonprofit I created a few years ago, inspired by my mom while she was still with us. The organization is dedicated to helping low-income seniors keep their beloved pets—because no one should have to lose their companion simply due to age or financial hardship. These relationships bring comfort, purpose, and joy, and it’s an honor to help protect them. I’ve spent more than 20 years working with dogs, cats, and other animals. I’m deeply intuitive with dogs and can often sense what they’re feeling or what may be troubling them. Whether it's gentle guidance for a new puppy or compassionate care for a senior dog, I’m here to support both pets and their people with patience, understanding, and love. My son Joni is also an experienced rover sitter. Though he’s away in college, he always helps with pup guests when home-we are a family of animal lovers.

This was our first time with Sofiya, and my dog came home happy and tired—a great sign! We booked a one-day daycare visit and had a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely be returning for an overnight stay. Thank you, Sofiya! 🙏

Sofiya was excellent! I loved the daily updates and photos of my dog having a great time. Will definitely book her again in the future!

Great as always :)
As always great care, great communication, and awesome flexibility from sofiya for our pup.
