We travel too often to own one ourselves, so instead we're hoping to build lasting relationships with a few special dogs whose families need occasional help. We're not doing this for the money; we simply love dogs and want more of them in our lives. What sets me apart beyond that: I'm active and love taking dogs on hikes — and trail runs, if they're up for it — so high-energy pups will come home tired and happy. Your dog gets a whole family's attention — a workout buddy, playmates, and steady, caring company. We plan to take one dog every 2-3 months and to shower them with love and attention. If you're interested in our family, chances are best if you coordinate with us well in advance :) I'm semi-retired and work from home on a completely flexible schedule, so pet care fits naturally into my whole day — not just the edges of it. Your dog won't be waiting hours for attention: mornings can start with a long walk/hike or run and midday means play and company rather than an empty house. We live on a large lot in Los Altos with fully fenced front and back yards, so there's plenty of secure space to play and explore. We're minutes from the foothills, with easy access to great hiking trails, and I have the proper equipment to transport your pup safely. In our home, your dog is treated as part of the family: supervised play, a consistent routine for meals, walks, and rest, and someone home all day, so dogs are never alone. On outings, dogs stay leashed unless you've told me otherwise, and I match the pace and distance to your dog's fitness and the weather, while ensuring your dog is hydrated. I'm happy to follow your routine exactly — feeding, medications, sleeping arrangements, house rules, etc. You'll get regular photo and video updates, so you always know your pup is safe and happy.

“We are so grateful to have found Kenny. We tried leaving our dog at a hotel/boarding facility. We paid extra for a nice room. But he was mostly in that room alone, standing and clawing at the glass, begging for attention. And when we would drop him off, he would try to get away. When we picked him up, he was panicked and breathing hard. He couldn’t mingle with the dogs due to being intact. It was isolating and he has separation anxiety. I’m sharing this for contrast. When I drop him off at Kenny’s he runs to him, jumps and licks him, and walks away without ever looking back at me, lol. We get photo and video updates showing how much fun he has: playing in the yard with another dog, pooping! Going for a walk, eating, napping, etc. Kenny watches over them and keeps them safe, ex: big vs small, neutered/spayed vs not. My dog loves going there now, and I can focus on work without worry. So thankful to have found this priceless attention and care.”

I’m Jasmine and I have been around animals my whole life - I grew up in a very animal loving family and caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life I have always been surrounded by animals like cats dogs birds fish and even turtles which helped me understand different animal personalities from an early age Over the years I personally raised and cared for 6 cats and 2 dogs in my own home - making sure they were always safe well fed and loved every day - I also regularly helped my neighbors by taking care of their dogs when they were away and sometimes hosted them in my home so they felt safe and comfortable Along with all of this I also raised two children while living this life surrounded by animals which helped me develop a very patient calm and responsible nature in everyday life I have also supported my family with their pets whenever needed and taken responsibility for their care which gave me many years of real hands on experience I am calm patient and responsible and I truly enjoy spending time with animals - I always treat every pet with care attention and love as if they were my own family❤️ I am currently on a break and have a very flexible schedule. She ran into the house like it was her own. Angela was patient with me being this was our very 1st Rover experience. I had a lot of issues with the website. Kangwoong took care of JuJu as soon as she rushed through the door to play with their daughter. The updates were timely as if Angela could tell when I was missing our little pup. And the whole family came to say goodbye when it was time to leave. Small gestures that mean a lot! About: I’ve always loved animals, and caring for them is something that genuinely brings me joy. In addition to raising my own pets, I’ve also helped many friends care for their dogs while they were away, so looking after other people’s pets isn’t new to me. I currently have two rescue dogs and one cat, and they’re truly part of my family. Because of them, I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and little quirks, and I love getting to know what makes each one special. My dogs are medium to large breeds (about 50 lbs and 100 lbs), so I’m very comfortable handling bigger, energetic dogs during walks and playtime. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, including Bichons, Labrador Retrievers, Samoyeds, Huskies, and other breeds. One thing that sets me apart is that I don’t just “watch” pets—I genuinely love spending time with them. For dogs that enjoy exercise and socializing, I’m also close to a community dog park and can take them there with your permission. If your dog prefers quieter walks or isn’t comfortable around other dogs, I’m equally happy to provide individual walks and one-on-one playtime instead. My two friendly rescue dogs love meeting new friends and make wonderful playmates for social dogs. However, I always prioritize every dog’s comfort and personality, and I’ll introduce dogs carefully and only if everyone is comfortable. When caring for pets in your home, I’ll follow your routines and instructions closely to help your pet feel relaxed in their familiar environment. About: I'm a Bay Area native, graduated from UC Berkeley and have finished winding down my first blockchain startup. I've been a digital nomad since 2021 and a friend suggested that I housesit as I do love animals and have a really flexible schedule. I have informally petsit over the years and only recently realized I can start a small business with it! :) My boyfriend Ray can also housesit with me if that’s what the owner’s preference is. He works out of a lab in Sunnyvale and can handle dogs over 75lbs as well as help me give medication. I love following pets with my camera, so expect plenty of photo and video updates for house sits and walks! I work 100% remote and is very flexible on walks, playtime, field trips to parks and giving medication. Some evenings I'll have tennis practice but I usually coordinate with Ray to make sure someone is always there with your pet. I generally ask for a video and/or in-person visit before committing to the assignment. I want to make sure the animal is comfortable around me and that I go over their daily routine with you in person. I water plants, take out trash, take in packages and will look over your pet and home as if they're my own. They become my responsibility and I'm happy to provide as many updates as the owner prefers.

About: A couple of years ago, I worked for Primal Canine Dog Training as a Kennel Tech and was training to become a dog trainer. As a Kennel Tech., I cared for about 20 dogs a day, all different breeds and sizes. I cleaned their kennel area, feed them, gave them water, took all of them on walks, did agility training through an obstacle course on-site, worked on their basic obedience, showered them, cleaned up any messes they made, and of course, gave them lots of treats, pets, and overall, love. Since I left Primal Canine, I have continued my dog care and training through working with owners like yourself in taking care of their dogs. I have been walking many dogs as well as dog/house sitting. The difference from working at Primal Canine and working as an independent dog caretaker is that I now have the opportunity to develop a stronger and closer bond with each dog I care for since I spend more time with them. I also used to live with two Pomeranian dogs and worked with dogs on film sets, filming them as they "acted" on command. To me, all dogs, no matter how big, are like little children. They need to be loved, respected, played with, strengthened, and guided to do the right actions. I see each dog has its own unique & individual self. In this, I treat each dog different from others and with the same love and respect I'd give for all dogs.
