“She is so patient both with me when I messed up the address and with Rudy who is very shy. I can tell she really cares for animals, she’s reliable, and has a great attitude, I will definitely book again!”

About: I've loved animals my whole life and have cared for pets since 2016. I had my own bunny for five years, which taught me responsibility, patience, and how much consistency matters in pet care. Over the years, I've helped roommates, friends, and family with their pets, including feeding, walks (rain included!), baths when needed, cleaning up accidents, playtime, and companionship. While I don't yet provide emergency or medical care beyond the basics, I'm very comfortable with daily routines and making pets feel safe and loved. What sets me apart is that I'm very good at following instructions. I know every pet parent has specific preferences, and I respect that fully. During the first visit, I may ask clarifying questions to make sure I'm doing everything exactly how you like it. I also keep your home tidy and send regular updates with photos so you feel at ease. I'm available weekdays during standard working hours and would love to spend that time giving your pup or kitty attention, movement, and care. I'm currently available on weekdays during standard 9-5 hours, which makes me a great fit for midday walks, drop-in visits, and weekday care. I'm not available on weekends at this time. Since I'm focusing on weekday bookings, I'm able to give your pet my full attention during visits rather than rushing between commitments. Your pet's comfort and your home's safety are very important to me. I carefully follow all instructions, double-check doors and leashes, and make sure your pet is secure before and after walks. I maintain a calm presence and respect both your home and your pet's boundaries. I clean up after pets, keep litter areas and feeding spaces tidy, and leave your home as I found it. Clear communication is important to me, so you can expect updates, photos, and honest check-ins throughout my time with your pet.

About: Hi! I’m Ally, an animal lover with professional animal care experience ranging from pet boarding facilities to the Oakland Zoo. My approach is calm, attentive, patient, and individualized to each animal. Animals have always been a central part of my life. I became vegetarian as a child because of my love for animals, and that value continues to guide both my personal and professional life today. Professionally, I previously worked at a pet boarding facility where I handled client communication, maintained veterinary and care records, administered medications, monitored feeding and intake, and provided daily hands-on animal care. I also worked as a Zookeeper Aide at the Oakland Zoo, where I helped prepare specialized diets and support daily animal care operations in a fast-paced environment. I’m currently completing a Master’s degree in Environmental Health Sciences at Columbia University, so I’m especially detail-oriented, responsible, communicative, and reliable. What You Can Expect From Me: -Reliability, reliability, reliability! ☺️ -Regular communication, updates, and photos -Calm, patient handling style -Attention to detailed feeding and care instructions -Lots of affection, play, and individualized attention Previous Experience: -Zookeeper Aide at Oakland Zoo -Behavioral Health worker at a California primate center -Animal care work at research centers -Wildlife rehabilitation and sanctuary volunteer experience -Pet sitting experience with a wide range of pet breeds and personalities -Pet First Aid and CPR certified I'm currently working remotely on my capstone project to finish my Master's degree, which means my schedule is quite flexible to care for your fur babies! I do have my own cat so I need to take his own care into account when considering bookings. I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and consistent environment for every pet in their own home. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication, routines, and household rules while paying close attention to behavior, appetite, and overall wellbeing. I understand that every animal has a different comfort level and personality, so I approach each pet with patience, attentiveness, and respect for their space and routine.

About: A couple of years ago, I worked for Primal Canine Dog Training as a Kennel Tech and was training to become a dog trainer. As a Kennel Tech., I cared for about 20 dogs a day, all different breeds and sizes. I cleaned their kennel area, feed them, gave them water, took all of them on walks, did agility training through an obstacle course on-site, worked on their basic obedience, showered them, cleaned up any messes they made, and of course, gave them lots of treats, pets, and overall, love. Since I left Primal Canine, I have continued my dog care and training through working with owners like yourself in taking care of their dogs. I have been walking many dogs as well as dog/house sitting. The difference from working at Primal Canine and working as an independent dog caretaker is that I now have the opportunity to develop a stronger and closer bond with each dog I care for since I spend more time with them. I also used to live with two Pomeranian dogs and worked with dogs on film sets, filming them as they "acted" on command. To me, all dogs, no matter how big, are like little children. They need to be loved, respected, played with, strengthened, and guided to do the right actions. I see each dog has its own unique & individual self. In this, I treat each dog different from others and with the same love and respect I'd give for all dogs.
“I had an elderly dog who didn’t get along with other dogs and had gotten grumpy in his old age. Miriam was so amazing with him and always very professional. My house was chaotic most of the time and she was always so kind and patient. She is the best!”
“Artem is just fantastic! He is wonderful with my labradoodle, who is a 75lb 4 year old that acts like a puppy. He got to know her personality and sends me great videos and pictures of her walks.”

“Courtney has been great with my dog. She consistently walks her weekly and sends wonderful pics of her. I appreciate the consistency and how trustworthy she is with my dog.”

“Excellent communication and attention to the weather to avoid overheating Ceara's paws. Ceara was calm, happy and well exercised when we returned. G. was pleasant and professional.”

“Genevieve was super friendly & easy to work with! Did a meet & greet before, which got my dog comfortable with her. She was on time & communicative before & during the walk! Will definitely rebook”

About: Our family has had a black lab/boxer for over 8 years, and I grew up with dogs in the household. I am active and we love to take our pup on walks, to the park, and play around the family. Would love to extend my care to your dog, as a home away from home or puppy playdate treat. I'm currently a stay at home mom and freelance artist, so available for flexible doggy day care and overnight boarding. Please reach out for initial meet and greet or to schedule. We have a fenced in yard, active middle aged dog who gets along great with all size pups, and a loving home with 3 girls who also love animals.
About: I have cared for dogs of all kinds and ages since I was a child. I've trained puppies, cared for elder dogs, and worked with service dogs as well. January, 2026: I am working part time & remote so my schedule for pet care is very flexible! I'm available for a single day or for longer-term arrangements. I will be happy to help take care of your pets in their homes. At this time I do not have the ability to pet-sit or board at my home.
“Robyn is awesome with both my dogs despite one being a bit stubborn and the other very mischievous :) She even cleaned up after my counter surfing dog got ahold of a brand new box of Kleenex!”

About: I am Angelica Martinez a veteran of the United States Air Force. I have two frenchies, I’ve owned cats & adopted a retired Belgian Malinois from the military working dog program. I love them all so much and I plan to take care of your pets just as I would mine own. I love to go on walks and play with animals, so I believe I would be a perfect fit for any household looking for a dog walker, sitter or just someone to drop in. I work remotely so that gives me a lot of flexibility and can take my work with me if possible. I do live in an apartment complex but I am surrounded by lots of parks, gated dog parks and walkable streets. I look forward to meeting you and your wonderful pets! Thank you so much for you time and interest. I work from home full time. That allows me to be pretty flexible with my days and IF needed i can take my work with me. In my own home, I believe that pets are family members & deserve love, attention and care; just as we do. I would provide that same service to a clients pets in their own home. Also, I believe in treating a clients space with respect and care just as I would want someone to do for me.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Los Altos Hills
Michael has been walking my senior dog, Jamun, in the mornings for a few weeks now. He is always pleasant, and Jamun is ready to go out with him every morning (He is a very barky dog and does not step out unless I do when going for walks. - don't know why!). It has been a pleasure and hope to continue for a while. I would recommend Michael V very highly for any services.
Natasha is great! She took the time to really understand my dog’s health issues and made sure she knew what to do in the event of a seizure. He seems happy and relaxed with her right away. All smiles in the pictures I got from his report card. I’ll definitely be booking her again!

We have two dogs who can be a bit reactive when walked by leash. My wife and I were instructed by professional dog trainers on how to keep them calm and under control when they see another dog. John picked up the training methods quickly and had both of our guys exhibiting their best behavior. John is a natural, and our dogs adore him. We are extremely pleased with his calmness and attention. Five stars!

Jeannette did a wonderful job with Bella—Bella felt very secure and comfortable with her. Jeannette was highly communicative and kept me regularly updated, which I really appreciated. She’s also a very positive and kind person, which made working with her a genuinely pleasant experience.

Katelyn has walked my dog several times and is really fantastic with my dog, Penny. Penny can be a little slow to warm up and Katelyn takes time to make sure Penny is comfortable on their walks. I get photo updates and a summary of how the walk went each time. She was flexible with me asking to change dates due to my work schedule, always arrived on time and communicated if there would be any changes to the time of the walks. Definitely would recommend her to others!

Kelly has a wonderful way with dogs. She is warm and gentle. Ellie immediately took to her! As Kelly started petting Ellie, Ellie immediately put her chin on Kelly’s lap begging for more. I can tell this is the beginning of a long and loving dog/human friendship. Contact Kelly and see for yourself!! She is wonderful!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
