“Excellent communication and attention to the weather to avoid overheating Ceara's paws. Ceara was calm, happy and well exercised when we returned. G. was pleasant and professional.”

“Ringo, our big and strong dog seemed happy and worn out after the walk. CJ did a good job figuring out how to put on and take off Ringo’s prong collar. It’s a little tricky because it has to link up to his cloth collar as well.”

“Miriam is the best dog walker! She is reliable, trustworthy, great communicator and most importantly, takes great care of our energetic Labrador, Cali, who she walks 3x a week. We don’t know what we’d do without her!”

“Lisa is hands down the most consistent and reliable person to take care of my dog Riley! I couldn’t dream up a better person to regularly come into my home and walk my pup when I’m at work! You will be lucky and honored to have her!”

“Artem is just fantastic! He is wonderful with my labradoodle, who is a 75lb 4 year old that acts like a puppy. He got to know her personality and sends me great videos and pictures of her walks.”

About: A couple of years ago, I worked for Primal Canine Dog Training as a Kennel Tech and was training to become a dog trainer. As a Kennel Tech., I cared for about 20 dogs a day, all different breeds and sizes. I cleaned their kennel area, feed them, gave them water, took all of them on walks, did agility training through an obstacle course on-site, worked on their basic obedience, showered them, cleaned up any messes they made, and of course, gave them lots of treats, pets, and overall, love. Since I left Primal Canine, I have continued my dog care and training through working with owners like yourself in taking care of their dogs. I have been walking many dogs as well as dog/house sitting. The difference from working at Primal Canine and working as an independent dog caretaker is that I now have the opportunity to develop a stronger and closer bond with each dog I care for since I spend more time with them. I also used to live with two Pomeranian dogs and worked with dogs on film sets, filming them as they "acted" on command. To me, all dogs, no matter how big, are like little children. They need to be loved, respected, played with, strengthened, and guided to do the right actions. I see each dog has its own unique & individual self. In this, I treat each dog different from others and with the same love and respect I'd give for all dogs.
“Courtney has been great with my dog. She consistently walks her weekly and sends wonderful pics of her. I appreciate the consistency and how trustworthy she is with my dog.”

About: Hi, I'm Lizzy! I am a graduate student at Palo Alto University, I have had my labrador since he was the length of my forearm! We've had many adventures together. I hope to have many adventures with your puppies (even the big dogs are puppies to me). As a dedicated dog lover, I aim to befriend your pet's personality and absolutely spoil them! I am very responsive and love providing updates of your pet's adventures! I have time every day of the week to check in and be with your pet. While I won't be having pets in my home, watching them thrive in their familiar home sounds like a great time! I am SO ready to play with them, take them out in the nice weather, and give them all the attention they deserve (which is every ounce!)

About: Hi! I’m Ally, an animal lover with professional animal care experience ranging from pet boarding facilities to the Oakland Zoo. My approach is calm, attentive, patient, and individualized to each animal. Animals have always been a central part of my life. I became vegetarian as a child because of my love for animals, and that value continues to guide both my personal and professional life today. Professionally, I previously worked at a pet boarding facility where I handled client communication, maintained veterinary and care records, administered medications, monitored feeding and intake, and provided daily hands-on animal care. I also worked as a Zookeeper Aide at the Oakland Zoo, where I helped prepare specialized diets and support daily animal care operations in a fast-paced environment. I’m currently completing a Master’s degree in Environmental Health Sciences at Columbia University, so I’m especially detail-oriented, responsible, communicative, and reliable. What You Can Expect From Me: -Reliable communication and regular updates/photos -Calm, patient handling style -Attention to detailed feeding and care instructions -Lots of affection, play, and individualized attention Experience: -Professional pet boarding and animal care experience -Zookeeper Aide at Oakland Zoo -Animal care work at research centers -Wildlife rehabilitation and sanctuary volunteer experience -Pet sitting experience with a wide range of dog breeds and personalities -Pet First Aid and CPR certified I'm currently working remotely on my capstone project to finish my Master's degree, which means my schedule is quite flexible to care for your fur babies! I do have my own cat so I need to take his own care into account when considering bookings. Currently accepting clients primarily in Manhattan, especially Washington Heights, Inwood, Harlem, and the Upper West Side. I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and consistent environment for every pet in their own home. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication, routines, and household rules while paying close attention to behavior, appetite, and overall wellbeing. I understand that every animal has a different comfort level and personality, so I approach each pet with patience, attentiveness, and respect for their space and routine.

About: Our family has had a black lab/boxer for over 8 years, and I grew up with dogs in the household. I am active and we love to take our pup on walks, to the park, and play around the family. I'm currently a stay at home mom and freelance artist, so available for flexible doggy day care and overnight boarding. Please reach out for initial meet and greet or to schedule. We have a fenced in yard, active middle aged dog who gets along great with all size pups, and a loving home with 3 girls who also love animals.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Los Altos Hills
We have two dogs who can be a bit reactive when walked by leash. My wife and I were instructed by professional dog trainers on how to keep them calm and under control when they see another dog. John picked up the training methods quickly and had both of our guys exhibiting their best behavior. John is a natural, and our dogs adore him. We are extremely pleased with his calmness and attention. Five stars!

Jeannette did a wonderful job with Bella—Bella felt very secure and comfortable with her. Jeannette was highly communicative and kept me regularly updated, which I really appreciated. She’s also a very positive and kind person, which made working with her a genuinely pleasant experience.

Katelyn has walked my dog several times and is really fantastic with my dog, Penny. Penny can be a little slow to warm up and Katelyn takes time to make sure Penny is comfortable on their walks. I get photo updates and a summary of how the walk went each time. She was flexible with me asking to change dates due to my work schedule, always arrived on time and communicated if there would be any changes to the time of the walks. Definitely would recommend her to others!

Kelly has a wonderful way with dogs. She is warm and gentle. Ellie immediately took to her! As Kelly started petting Ellie, Ellie immediately put her chin on Kelly’s lap begging for more. I can tell this is the beginning of a long and loving dog/human friendship. Contact Kelly and see for yourself!! She is wonderful!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
