About: My Pet Care Experience Growing up, I had the joy of sharing my life with a variety of pets, each teaching me something unique about responsibility, empathy, and companionship. Over the years, I’ve cared for hamsters, cats, dogs, fish, bunnies, and turtles, and every one of them left a lasting impact on me. As a child, my hamsters taught me patience and attentiveness through their delicate care needs. Feeding them the right diet and cleaning their habitat were my first lessons in responsibility. With dogs and cats, I learned the importance of building trust and providing unconditional love. They showed me how meaningful the bond between humans and animals can be. Bunnies and turtles required different forms of care, from maintaining specific diets to creating environments that matched their natural habitats. These experiences taught me how to adapt and tailor my care to meet the needs of each pet. Even caring for fish required a level of diligence, as maintaining a clean tank and balanced water conditions was essential for their well-being. Now, as an adult, I deeply appreciate how much these experiences shaped my understanding of what it means to care for animals. Pets aren’t just companions; they’re beings that rely on us for their health, happiness, and safety. This realization drives my dedication to providing the best care possible for my current and future pets. Whether it’s ensuring they receive proper nutrition, regular vet check-ups, or just spending quality time with them, I believe that having pets is both a privilege and a commitment. Caring for animals has not only made me more responsible but has also brought immense joy and fulfillment into my life. Pet care is an important part of my daily and weekly routine, and I always make time to ensure pets are happy and healthy. Currently, as a student on vacation, I have plenty of free time during the holidays to dedicate to their care, including playing with them, grooming, and keeping their spaces clean. During the semester, I usually have classes in the mornings, but my afternoons and evenings are free. This gives me a flexible schedule to provide attention, exercise, and care for the pets. I enjoy creating a balance between my responsibilities and spending quality time with them, as I believe this is key to building a strong bond and keeping them content. I am very responsible when it comes to caring for pets, whether in my home or my client’s home. I always prioritize building trust with the pet, creating a bond that ensures they feel safe and comfortable with me. The place where I live is fenced and quiet, making it a safe environment for pets. However, I understand that pets often feel more comfortable staying in their own home, surrounded by familiar smells and routines. For this reason, I am more than happy to care for them at their place if that’s preferred. Regardless of the location, I make sure to follow their specific routines, provide plenty of playtime and attention, and ensure their needs are met with love and care.

Kelsey has walked my dogs on two separate occasions and I won't hesitate to use her again. She sends updates with photos, which I greatly appreciate. My 2 doggos can be quite the handful, but she manages them without issue - I would recommend Kelsey for your pet care needs!

About: A couple of years ago, I worked for Primal Canine Dog Training as a Kennel Tech and was training to become a dog trainer. As a Kennel Tech., I cared for about 20 dogs a day, all different breeds and sizes. I cleaned their kennel area, feed them, gave them water, took all of them on walks, did agility training through an obstacle course on-site, worked on their basic obedience, showered them, cleaned up any messes they made, and of course, gave them lots of treats, pets, and overall, love. Since I left Primal Canine, I have continued my dog care and training through working with owners like yourself in taking care of their dogs. I have been walking many dogs as well as dog/house sitting. The difference from working at Primal Canine and working as an independent dog caretaker is that I now have the opportunity to develop a stronger and closer bond with each dog I care for since I spend more time with them. I also used to live with two Pomeranian dogs and worked with dogs on film sets, filming them as they "acted" on command. To me, all dogs, no matter how big, are like little children. They need to be loved, respected, played with, strengthened, and guided to do the right actions. I see each dog has its own unique & individual self. In this, I treat each dog different from others and with the same love and respect I'd give for all dogs.

About: I cared for my own dog for 8 years, which gave me a strong foundation in daily routines, exercise, feeding, and understanding a dog’s behavior and needs at different stages of life. I’m especially attentive to each pet’s individual personality—whether they’re energetic and playful or more shy and reserved. I’m patient, calm, and detail-oriented, which helps pets feel comfortable and safe. I’m also very reliable and will follow your instructions closely, whether that includes specific feeding schedules, medications, or preferred walking routines. I’m comfortable with both dogs and cats, and I take the time to make sure each pet gets the attention, care, and affection they deserve while you’re away. My goal is always to make the experience as stress-free as possible—for both you and your pet. I recently graduated from UC San Diego and am currently back home while searching for my first full-time role, which gives me a very flexible and open schedule. I’m available throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, and extended visits, and I can easily accommodate different routines and timing needs. Whether your pet needs consistent daily care or more last-minute support, I’m happy to be flexible. Because of my availability, I’m able to give pets plenty of attention and not rush visits, ensuring they feel comfortable and well cared for. I always focus on creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions closely and do my best to keep your pet’s routine consistent, since that helps them feel secure and at ease. I’m attentive during visits and make sure pets are safe at all times, including keeping doors and gates secure, watching for anything unusual in their behavior, and providing updates so you know how they’re doing. I’m also patient and respectful of each pet’s personality and boundaries. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or anxious, I want them to feel comfortable, cared for, and well looked after while you’re away.

Meg did such a great job taking walking our two dogs, one an eager puppy and our cranky older 6-year old. We appreciated Meg’s willingness to meet our pups prior to booking. She updated me with pictures during her visit and showed up within the desired time frame to walk our pups. We will definitely be using Meg in the future.

About: I’ve cared for and owned dogs, cats, reptiles, and rats since I was a kid. I love dogs of all sizes and cats of all temperaments. Currently I just have a quail. I love caring for animals of all kind! I am patient and am open to caring for pets with special needs, especially with detailed instructions. Non-traditional pets don’t scare me, although spiders are not my favorite. They’re cute, I just don’t want to touch them. Haha. Am happy to take doggos on fun outdoor walks and give them lots of exercise! Cats will get lots of exercise, playing, and love, catered to their preferences. I currently work part-time tutoring kiddos virtually, and caring for my elderly Father-in-law in Monterey some weekends. I prefer drop-in care and giving walks, but am open to house-sitting depending on the details. I am happy to come to your home to meet and talk about the care if your pet(s). I live in a small apartment, so I won't be boarding any animals. Not only do I follow instructions well (I’m an elementary teacher, so I’m good at that), I also love to give animals snuggles and care and am happy to send hourly pictures.

About: Hello, Pawrents — welcome to our profile! We know how important it is to find the right sitter — someone you can trust to treat your dog like family. You deserve peace of mind knowing your pup is safe, happy, and well cared for. My husband Drew and I are dog lovers who truly enjoy spending time with fellow pet people. In 2023, we adopted our sweet pup, Clover, when she was just a few months old, and it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Caring for her deepened my passion for dogs and inspired me to pursue pet care full-time. Clover is now 2 years old and extremely well-socialized. She attended weekly puppy socials for over a year and loves adventures to parks, malls, beaches, and dog-friendly restaurants. I now offer full-time dog boarding and dog walking, and while Drew works outside the home, he often helps out and brings years of experience from having his own dogs for over two decades. We have a fully fenced yard where your dog can safely play, and we make it our mission to ensure every pup in our care has a fun, loving experience — whether they’re staying with us or joining us for a walk. Both Drew and I are certified in pet CPR and first aid, so your furry family member is always in safe hands. Because to us, dogs aren’t just pets — they’re family. 💕🐶🐾 Being a full time pet sitter allows me to give your dog lots of attention, playtime, potty breaks, walks, and lots of love. Flexible availability. We have a fully fenced yard. Our dog is very friendly and well trained. She would love to keep your dog company. Keeping your dog happy and safe is my priority.

About: I grew up in a multiple pet family; taking care of the cats, ducks and family dog. Over the last couple decades I have rescued animals including my cat 20 years ago. I have also enjoyed caring for my friends and family animals while away, and any stray wildlife that comes my way too:) Right now I am working to start a resin company, and have a very flexible schedule. My care schedule for my animals is structured but flexible, so we can work with many different demands, my cat communicates surprisingly well :) I follow whatever instructions are given before and during visits, care and safety are of the utmost importance. Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Los Trancos Woods. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Los Trancos Woods.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
