“Pete was Awesome!!! Fist off, my dogs are rescues. They have idiosyncrasies (lol). Taffy puts up defences when meeting new people. So much so, that two prior interviewees turned down the offer. Peter, who is a gentle giant, won her over during the interview. Not with his giantness, but his amazing gentleness. Usually it takes some time for Taffy to trust someone, but she found something in Peter to trust right away! The rest of the week went incredibly smoothly. I got texts every evening (he offered photos but i declined). Both Tanka and Taffy assumed "Belly Rub" positions once Peter arrived. I heard such great reports that when I got home, I had to tearfully sit down with them and ask if they would rather go and live with Peter. Just kidding, I couldn't ask that question for fear of the answer!! When I came home, my doges were normal. Not filled with fear, anxiety, depression or anything that separation might cause. That means Peter did not just feed, water, and let them outside. He gave them loving care in my absence. He treated them as I would treat them. That is the sign of an excellent caretaker!! About: I will walk to crap out of your dog. Take that figuratively or literally as you please. Regardless, after our walks they'll come home totally tuckered out. I love dogs and have years of experience caring for dogs and house sitting. I grew up with large Chesapeake bay retrievers and am comfortable walking large dogs. I have a 1.5 year old basset hound. Aesthetically speaking, I am a sucker for a long, low canine. But I love all breeds and can't wait to meet your dog for a walk or a run outside! Can provide references. I'm currently looking for work, so have wide availability to care for your dog/cat. I am used to walking my own dog 2-3 times per day, plus training sessions and K9 nose work practice. If you are working on obedience with your dog, I'm happy to continue to provide training sessions as well while sitting them. About: I recently lost my nearly 9-year-old German Shepherd who I raised since he was 8 weeks old. I loved him so much and am happy I was able to give him a great life. I grew up with dogs, cats, birds, and hamsters, so naturally I love animals! (They tend to like me too.) I am comfortable with any size dog, both large and small, and can administer pet medications or help with any dietary needs. I am lucky enough to be able to work primarily from home, which allows me time to prepare meals and exercise my dog every day. Taking care of pets is part of my everyday life. “We are so grateful to have found Kenny. We tried leaving our dog at a hotel/boarding facility. We paid extra for a nice room. But he was mostly in that room alone, standing and clawing at the glass, begging for attention. And when we would drop him off, he would try to get away. When we picked him up, he was panicked and breathing hard. He couldn’t mingle with the dogs due to being intact. It was isolating and he has separation anxiety. I’m sharing this for contrast. When I drop him off at Kenny’s he runs to him, jumps and licks him, and walks away without ever looking back at me, lol. We get photo and video updates showing how much fun he has: playing in the yard with another dog, pooping! Going for a walk, eating, napping, etc. Kenny watches over them and keeps them safe, ex: big vs small, neutered/spayed vs not. My dog loves going there now, and I can focus on work without worry. My current apartment has a fenced in yard with parks near by for long walks or runs. Pets are also allowed to to go on the couch for cuddles.

I make sure to make their time away from you as close to their daily routine as possible. I make sure to know their likes and dislike to make them feel as safe and comfortable as possible. There are some dogs that do not feel good in loud and busy areas. So I make sure to go on walk them in quieter places. Also, if I am house sitting some prefer to co-sleep and I am comfortable doing so. Every pet care experience is catered to your and your pets liking :)

We travel too much to have one of our own, which is why we'd rather build lasting relationships with a few special dogs whose families need occasional help. I'm semi-retired with a fully flexible schedule, and I only take one or two bookings a month, so your dog gets my attention for the vast majority of each day. And I never book more than one dog at a time. I'm super active myself, so I love taking dogs on hikes, and on trail runs if they're up for it. Whatever your dog's energy level, they'll come home tired from exercising and happy from a day of new smells. I charge more than most sitters here, and the reason is simple: your dog gets a whole family's attention, real daily workouts, playmates, and steady, caring company from an experienced handler. Every dollar goes to my daughters — half as pay for the help they provide, half into their college funds. I'm happy (and actually prefer) to do a meet and greet at my house prior to confirming a booking. Given I'm semi-retired and work from home on a flexible schedule, pet care can always fit naturally into my whole day — not just the edges of it. Your dog won't be waiting for attention: mornings can start with a long walk/hike or run and midday means play and company rather than an empty house. On the weekends, after school, on holidays, and during summer break, my daughters will shower your pup with love and attention. Safety comes first. We live on a large lot in Los Altos with fully fenced front and back yards, so there's plenty of secure space to play and explore. We're minutes from the foothills, with easy access to great hiking trails, and I have the proper equipment to transport your pup safely. In our home, your dog is treated as part of the family: supervised play, a consistent routine for meals, walks, and rest, and someone home all day, so dogs are never alone. On outings, dogs stay leashed unless you've told me otherwise, and I match the pace and distance to your dog's fitness and the weather, while ensuring your dog is hydrated. I'm happy to follow your routine exactly — feeding, medications, sleeping arrangements, house rules, etc. You'll get regular photo and video updates, so you always know your pup is safe and happy.
