“Vanessa was very communicative around planning the visit and she was also very respectful of my cat’s boundaries around new people! She also was skilled in giving my cat her medication with minimal resistance haha. Thank you for taking care of her!”

“This was our first time using Rover and Katrina made it a great experience! We returned from our trip today and our cat seemed very happy and well cared for. Katrina provided photos and even cleaned our cat’s food and water dishes! Thanks Katrina!”

“Sandra was wonderful! She was extremely communicative, keeping us updated and giving us peace of mind while we were away. She was also very patient and gentle with our three very shy cats. We really appreciated how carefully she followed all of our instructions—it was clear she was attentive and detail-oriented. We would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 13 years old, and have had cats and dogs for my entire adult life. I have helped friends and family take care of their pets for just as long. I love animals, and their well-being is my utmost priority. I have extensive experience and knowledge on what pets need from experience with my own pets and taking care of pets for others. When I am traveling or need to be away from home for any reason, my main concern is always whether my cats and dogs are happy and getting everything they need. My mission is to do everything I can to give you the worry-free experience I would want myself. I am self-employed, so my schedule is flexible around what you and your pet(s) need. I am available at most times of the day and on weekends/holidays. I understand that every pet’s need can differ based on the situation. I will care for your pet according to his/her individual need.
About: I’m a lifelong dog lover with 20 years of experience raising dogs from puppyhood to happy seniorhood. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes. I have two kids (10 and 12) who love to give snuggles and play with dogs, but they are also respectful and experienced with reading cues when a dog needs space. On walks, I'll make sure your pup is engaged, enriched and comes back happy and tired. When boarding your dog, I’ll warmly provide the home away from home they need and send regular updates and photos for your peace of mind. I am highly communicative and very responsive. I look forward to meeting your pup! I have a flexible schedule, and I’m regularly available for dog walking and drop in visits Monday-Friday. I can board your dog overnight any days of the week or do weekend drop ins or walks with advanced notice. I have a roomy SUV and can pick up/drop off your dog if needed. I have a one story home and a large fenced in backyard. The backyard has a large grassy area as well as a covered deck, a lower open deck and a concrete area. My 85lb 2 year old rescue pup loves other dogs and will provide your dog with lots of playtime and company. My neighborhood is great for walks, and I live right by a large open park. I have experience with puppies, having successfully housetrained three big dogs from 8 weeks old. I also have experience with senior dogs and special needs dogs. Our previous labs lived to 15 and 13, with one that had regular seizures in her last year of life. I believe in positive reinforcement training and will make sure to keep up with any training you’re currently working on with your dog during walks and while they stay with me. I’ve taken care of dogs of all ages and sizes and have a confident yet warm personality that will help your dog quickly get comfortable with me.

About: I have had cats my entire life and I always have been a huge animal lover! During Covid, I finally got my very first puppy after wanting a dog for so many years. It has been one of the best experiences for me. Before becoming a dog owner myself, I spent years helping friends and family by walking their dogs and caring for their cats. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets and I always treat animals with patience love and care like they’re my own. Whether your pet loves playtime, walks, cuddles, or just company I’m happy to give them the attention they need. I currently work full-time Monday through Friday, but I’m available for early morning walks or check-ins starting as early as 6:00 AM-7 am before work. I’m also available after 2:00 PM on weekdays. On Saturdays and Sundays, I’m available in the mornings until around 12:00 PM. I’ll always do my best to accommodate your pet’s needs and schedule! I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I follow all care instructions closely, give pets lots of love and attention, and treat every home with respect by keeping it clean and secure.
“Elena always does a great job with my cat! It was clear that she really loves animals from the first moment that she met my cat. She's very communicative during her visits and always provides great photos. I definitely recommend her!”

About: I've had dogs my whole life — that's 29 years of hands-on experience caring for them at every stage. Growing up around both working and non-working dogs gave me a well-rounded understanding of different breeds, temperaments, and needs. I currently have a dog of my own, so your pup will always be in the care of someone who genuinely lives and breathes this. As an added bonus, my sister is a veterinarian — so I bring not just personal experience, but a household full of professional-level knowledge when it comes to your pet's health and wellbeing. I work from home on weekdays, which means your pet is never far from someone who cares. I'm available for drop-in visits throughout the day as long as I can bring my laptop, and I'm free for walks Monday through Friday from 2:30–7pm. Weekends are more flexible, and I'm happy to house sit with advance notice. Having a work-from-home setup is honestly a perk for the pets I care for - there's always a calm, present person nearby. I'm no stranger to multi-dog households as I live with my own dog alongside my family's two dogs, so I'm comfortable managing the dynamics that come with multiple pets under one roof. I have hands-on experience with crate training and potty training, and I've cared for dogs in all kinds of setups: yards, apartments, you name it. For house sitting and drop-in visits, I actually prefer caring for dogs in their own environment as familiar surroundings mean less stress for your pet, and I'm there to keep their routine as normal as possible. It's the setup where I do my best work.
About: My name is Lorenzo and I own and have grown up around dogs my whole life. I’ve always been good with dogs ever since I was a kid and understand what dogs need and the responsibility of taking care of dogs. If you need a dog walker, dog sitter, someone to check in on your dog, or someone to stay with with your pup then I’m the one for the job. It’s my aim to love and adore your dog as much as you do. I absolutely love dogs and I am comfortable with dogs of all ages. I’m an active athlete and will love to take your dog on exciting adventures and have a great time. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pup soon. Pet care is an important part of my daily and weekly routine. Even though I have a part-time job, I always make time for feeding, walking, playing, and giving attention to the pets I care for. I’m very organized, so I plan my schedule to make sure their needs come first. I also keep their space clean, make sure they have fresh water, and do weekly tasks. I’m flexible and happy to work with pet owners to create a schedule that works for both of us, making sure their pets get consistent, loving care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their space with the same respect and attention I would give my own. I always begin by reviewing the client’s instructions carefully to ensure I fully understand the pet’s routine, dietary needs, medical requirements, and behavior patterns. Consistency is key, so I do my best to maintain the pet’s usual schedule—whether that involves specific feeding times, regular walks, play sessions, or quiet time. I take extra care to keep the home clean and secure while I'm there, including cleaning up after the pet, locking up when I leave, and making sure the pet has fresh water, a tidy living area, and any comforts they’re used to. I also pay attention to details like adjusting lights or curtains if needed, bringing in mail, or watering plants if requested—anything that helps maintain the normal routine and security of the home. Regular communication is also important to me. I provide updates, photos, or quick messages to reassure the owner and let them know how their pet is doing. I understand the trust it takes to let someone into your home and care for your pet, Therefore, my top priorities are care, accountability, and reliability.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and currently have a 3½-year-old Lab(Whiskey) who I also trained while she was a puppy. My family also had a dog from the time I was born until I was 7 years old, which is where my love for dogs started. I’m currently on summer break from college, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your dog. My Lab is very high energy and requires a lot of exercise and attention. She also has a skin condition that requires regular baths and extra care, so I’m used to handling dogs with specific needs and routines. I enjoy spending time with dogs, whether that’s going for walks, playing with them, or just keeping them company. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I will treat your dog like one of my own. I’m responsible, dependable, and committed to making sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I’m currently on summer break from college, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give pets the attention they need. I have a high-energy Labrador at home who requires daily exercise, playtime, and regular care for her skin condition, including frequent baths and monitoring. Because of that, I’m used to planning my days around feeding schedules, walks, medication routines, and making sure pets get plenty of attention and exercise. Caring for animals is something I do every day, not just occasionally. I treat every pet like they’re my own and try to keep them on the routine they’re used to. In my client’s home, I follow feeding schedules, provide fresh water, take dogs on walks, give plenty of playtime and attention, and can administer medications if needed. I also make sure the home stays clean and secure while the owner is away. In my own home, pets receive constant supervision, regular potty breaks, exercise, and lots of interaction throughout the day. Since I have experience caring for my own high-energy Labrador with a skin condition, I’m comfortable handling pets that require extra attention, special care routines, or medications.
About: Hi there! We are Min and Florence. We have grown up with pets our whole lives and now have a beautiful rescue pup that we share together. We are familiar with friendly or anxious/shy dogs as our dog was rescued from the dog meat trade. We would love to get to know your pets and take good care of them! We work from home so we have a pretty flexible schedule when it comes to walking the dogs or stopping by to check on someone's pet. If you would like your dog to have a buddy, we are more than happy to bring our own pup along on walks. If they prefer to be alone, just let us know as we are more than happy to accommodate.
“I highly recommend Kahren. She is very professional and provided daily update on our cat Leo, how is was eating and taking his medication. She was able to cover for another sitter who resigned while we were on vacation. Her kindness and attention toward Leo gave me a piece of mind and allowed me to enjoy the rest of my vacation”

About: Hi everyone! Just a lifelong dog lover who grew up around pups of all kinds and would love to help out in my free time! I recently graduated from San Francisco State and am currently applying to nursing schools, so caring for others (including your pets!) is very close to my heart. I love getting outside for long walks and some sunshine, and I’m always happy to spend quality time with animals. I was also a dog foster during my time in college! I'm reliable, friendly, and super excited to meet your furry little family member! I’m currently working part-time so I usually have afternoons on weekdays free for sunshine and puppy time! I also have weekends completely available:) I have a fenced yard for my sweet little guy! Since he’s a bit older, we’re usually taking shorter walks these days and focusing more on cuddles 😊

About: I've loved dogs since I was a kid! My first dog was a Chow Chow when I was five years old, and I adored him until the day he passed. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them comes with much joy to me. Friends and family often count on me to walk, feed, and spend time with their pets, and I genuinely love every second of it. I treat every pet with patience, affection, and the same care I’d want for my own. I am currently working part time as a Behavioral Aide for toddlers on the autism spectrum. Afternoon and evenings are open for me and I am avaliable for dog walking, house sitting, and drop-in visits during this slot. I will offer the best possible care for your pet during our walks and/or visits. I do not offer boarding in my home as my arrangements do not allow it but I am open to house sitting and providing your dog and feline friends what they need according to what you know is best for them!

“Cheryll was so warm and caring. I had no worries knowing he would spend some time with my pup. She arrived as scheduled and even stayed a little longer than requested. We will definitely use Cheryll again!”
“I highly recommend Jie!My two dogs received the care and attention they needed! Jie is very friendly, trustworthy and dependable. She is prompt and update me when I’m out of town which is always comforting. You will not be disappointed.”

“She was very thorough and took good care of our cats!! Both of our cats are a handful but she managed to look after them with ease. She made sure to interact a lot with them during the short amount of time she had with them each day, and I appreciate that she asked us a lot of questions when she needed more clarification on something. We would definitely book with her again!”

About: I have two dogs that I have been taking care of with my family for 10 years, and have helped family friends care for pets while they are away for years before that. I am a lifelong animal lover, and can’t wait to meet your furry friends! I am working as a dog sitter for the summer before I head off to college. I am generally available with three day’s notice excluding a few family events. I take dogs on walks around the neighborhood and will follow caretaking instructions to ensure they get food and walks just like they would from their owners.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - San Bruno
Sandra was an excellent sitter - she updated me in detail with every visit, made sure my kitty was equipped with food, water, and fresh litter, and always tried to socialize with her even when she was being a grump. She also was very flexible and extremely helpful when my schedule changed last minute - she truly saved my skin! I cannot recommend Sandra enough!

Yujie watched my two cats while I was away for almost 10 days, and I couldn't have asked for a better sitter. She was very communicative, sending updates and photos regularly, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was traveling. I would absolutely book with Yujie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy

She was very thorough and took good care of our cats!! Both of our cats are a handful but she managed to look after them with ease. She made sure to interact a lot with them during the short amount of time she had with them each day, and I appreciate that she asked us a lot of questions when she needed more clarification on something. My shy, fussy cats really warmed up to Maria! She came morning and evening for 12 days while I was away and during that time she brought them out of their shell. Not only that but she cleaned the litter box wach time and washed the food dishes and cleaned the feeding mat each time. So adding it all up: quality socializing and play time plus cleaning and feeding, My kitties and I give Maria 5 stars!

Andrea did an amazing job caring for our kitties, Leya and Simon! We really appreciated how thorough she was and how carefully she followed all of our instructions. She spent lots of quality playtime with Simon, which he absolutely loved, and gave both cats wonderful care and attention while we were away. Andrea was also very respectful of our home, which gave us extra peace of mind. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and caring pet sitter!

Jasmine (Jie) was a wonderful sitter for our cat. We booked 2 weeks of drop in visits while we were traveling and she went above and beyond. Our cat loved her and we could travel with a peace of mind since we knew she was taking good care of her. She is very attentive and also very responsive to messages. She would notice little details and changes in our cat and let us know immediately. We would love to keep working with Jasmine in the future!

As usual Shao is the best! She dropped by to spend time with ozzy while I worked a very long shift. She walked, fed, gave his medicine, comforted and spent time with him. Ozzy is my senior dog that requires very specific care and she always does the best job taking care of him just as I would do. Shao always updates me consistently with photos and videos of what they’re up to, Ozzy always looks genuinely happy and comfortable, which is so so important because he gets very bad anxiety. Whenever I get home after Shao dropped by he always looks very peaceful and rested. Thank you Shao! Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
