This was our first time using Rover and we were so happy by choosing Casey. He immediately wanted to schedule a "meet and greet" at the house so the dogs can be comfortable. Soon after, we left for our wedding and our babies were in his hands. We were worried at first, but Casey reassured us instantly with photos of the doggies loving life. He always checked in with us, and sent us photos. We had such a great experience with him and Rover. I recommend Casey for any dog child owner in the area. His knowledge, attitude, and comfortability is reassuring :D Thank you so much! -The Rileys

About: I’ve taken care of both cats and dogs since I can remember. I trained my corgi when he was a puppy and even taught my cat some tricks! I love animals of all shapes and sizes. I believe that all pets deserve to feel loved, comfortable, and safe while their owners are away! I’m currently a college student, so I have plenty of time to take care of your pets! I have time all throughout the day, from the morning to the evening, to play with them! Having pets of my own, I understand the importance of routines and sticking to a schedule. I will ensure that your pets feel safe, loved, and normal while you are gone. I always prioritize making sure that pets are comfortable around me and will do anything it takes to ensure that they are.

About: I’m an experienced two-rescue owner who knows anxious dogs, reactive leashes, meds, and senior-dog care. Scout just passed at 13 years. Now, I have my six-breed, 6-year old mutt Gemini. Real patience, not just promised patience is required with my dog Gem. For example, she doesn't always bring the ball back during fetch, and that's taught me to meet every dog where they are. Your dog won't be a job to me. They'll be a guest, treated with the same patience, attention, and affection I give my own. ✅❤️😌🐶 My specialties: anxious/reactive dogs, seniors, multi-pet households, big dogs (40 pounds+), high-energy dogs I'm currently working project-based contract work remote, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm a copywriter, so I'll see your requests for care ASAP! I'm available M-T, F 9-12. In your home, I follow your routines exactly — feeding times, walk schedules, medications, and house rules. I keep doors and gates secured, never leave dogs unattended outside, and send photo updates so you know they're safe and happy. In my home, dogs are treated like family: supervised at all times, given a calm space to decompress, and introduced slowly to my own two rescues only if they're a good fit. Safety, comfort, and clear communication come first, always.

About: My family and I have a love for animals. We have gone through many different species of pets including dogs, cats, hamsters, bunnies, and birds. Apart from my family, I’ve helped house-sit and cared for my friend’s dog for a few years now whenever she’s away. During that time, I’ve handled daily walks, feeding, and making sure the dog feels safe and comfortable at home. I currently work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and extra availability to care for and walk dogs. I’m able to provide consistent attention and accommodate different walking times throughout the week. I like to follow their normal routine to keep them comfortable. I make sure they are fed on time, get regular walks, have fresh water, and receive plenty of attention and playtime.

About: I've been around animals almost my whole life. I volunteered at an animal shelter in high school, have had cats of my own since 2013, pet sat cats and dogs for friends and family, and have had experience raising kittens as well as experience in TNR. Currently available all day and can be available for evenings and/or overnights if needed. Happy to spend time with your pet when you're not able to so they have company until you return home! As a life long animal lover, I understand pets are more than just an animal, but they're part of the family. I take time to get to know each pet and will do all I can to ensure that they are always safe in my care, whether during a walk or pet sitting in your home.

About: Hi there! Thanks for visiting my profile! I practically grew up in a zoo - lizards, birds, dogs, frogs, cats, you name it, my family fostered an animal loving environment. Friends and family say I’m the “go to” and “hands on” gal when it comes to any pet related questions. My experience ranges from young to senior animals, I believe every step of a pet’s life requires love and attention. I also have over 5 years of volunteer experience at my local humane society. :) So excited to meet you and your furry family members! WHY IM ON ROVER: Not only do I love animals, I love connecting with my community and getting outdoors. AVAILABILITY: I work 8am-5pm but I am also fairly flexible and can make something work if given enough notice :) Saturday-Sunday: open availability unless noted otherwise! Drop-ins and walks are my main focus but can make overnight stay exceptions for repeat clients! I prefer to watch pets in my client’s home and have many years of experience as a trusted nanny, pet sitter and house sitter (and can provide references upon request!)

We couldn't have asked for a better experience! We honestly think our lab, Ranger, had more of a vacation than we did. We received constant updates and photos, and it was clear he was getting tons of walks and playtime. Beyond the incredible pet care, we returned to a spotless house and felt at total ease knowing both our dog and our home were in such great hands. About: Having grown up with a dog, what sets me apart is my focus on high-needs care and consistency. Your pet can be my 'co-worker' for the day, receiving constant attention and structured play. I'm comfortable with medication schedules and slow-paced mobility walks. You can expect frequent photo updates and a calm, pet-first environment As a remote professional, I offer the 'work-from-home' advantage: your pet will have a constant companion throughout the day which is ideal for most dogs. Your pet will always be treated like family! We start with a slow introduction, ensuring they feel safe and confident. I provide a structured day with frequent potty breaks, interactive play, and plenty of lap time. When sitting in your home, my priority is maintaining your pet's 'normal.' I follow your feeding and exercise schedules to the minute to minimize anxiety. I also take great care of your space, possibly watering plants, and ensuring your home is secure and tidy so you can return to a happy pet and a peaceful house.

Caroline was amazing with our rescue dachshund Tella. She was so empathetic to us and Tella who just lost the other half of her bonded pair, and took Tella on with such patience since we all didn’t quite know how she’d handle being dog-watched alone for the first time. Caroline also messaged regularly with so many picture updates to comfort us knowing we probably had more separation anxiety than Tella did! As a pet owner of a somewhat difficult rescue dachshund - and if you know dachshunds you know what I mean- i was worried about finding the right sitter and Caroline went above and beyond.

FAQs for House Sitting - Highlands-Baywood Park

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Highlands-Baywood Park on Rover is $58 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 8,542 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Highlands-Baywood Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Highlands-Baywood Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Highlands-Baywood Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Highlands-Baywood Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Highlands-Baywood Park. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
