“Leslie did a great job sitting Nash! By the pictures she sent you could tell he was having a great time at the park. Thanks for watching my baby over the holiday!”

“Erica took wonderful care of Bubbles! She was super kind, gentle and caring with him and we came back home to a happy kitty! I will definitely reach out to Erica again for future trips away from our Bubbles 😌”

“Jessica was super respectful of our home, took wonderful care of our high energy dog and checked in regularly, asking great questions that showed she really cared about our dog and home. Definitely the best Rover sitter we’ve ever had!”

“Danielle was great with my anxious pup! She made herself available at the last minute after another sitter cancelled, and I felt completely comfortable leaving Adare with her for the day. We'd have her back in a heartbeat.”
“Perry was wonderful again with our dog, Roan, today! He sent tons of pictures throughout the day, got Roan out on several walks and clearly cares a ton about the happiness and comfort of the pups he is caring for. Can't wait to have Perry back again soon and would recommend him to anyone in need of care for their pups! He is terrific!”

About: I've loved dogs since I was a kid and had one for over 16 years. Puppies, adults, older ones, big, small I like them all! I am in between jobs so I have nothing better to do than take your dog on a walk (it would give us both something to do). Depends on the dog, if yours is outgoing it's easier to breakthrough. If they're a little shy I let them come to me and win them over with pets
“Once again, Gisselle was amazing with our pups. Gisselle is excellent with our two 5 year old golden retriever’s. The dogs love her and she stays at our house and is so good with the dogs. We get great pictures and she keeps us up to date with questions (Finn was barking during the night, she reached out, I was able to tell her why he does this) all to say, you will be very happy to have Gisselle take care of your pets! We adore her and our dogs love her, if you want an excellent person to work with your fur babies work with Gisselle!”

“Madison took great care of my two cats and dog. She was communicative and provided updates throughout the pet sitting. My dog takes some time to warm up to new people and Madison was so patient with her. I would for sure book her services again.”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with extensive experience caring for both dogs and cats. I currently have a 6-year-old Burmese and Australian Shepherd mix, and over the years I’ve cared for four cats for more than 10 years combined. I lead an active lifestyle and enjoy working out, running, hiking, and spending quality time with animals. Long walks, play sessions, and providing both physical exercise and mental stimulation are some of my favorite ways to help pets stay happy and healthy. If your dog is energetic and requires extra activity, engagement, or attention, I’m more than happy to provide the level of care they need. I genuinely enjoy building connections with animals and treating them like family. I also created a social media account dedicated to my own dog, which reflects my love for capturing special moments and celebrating the joy pets bring into our lives. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your beloved companion, and I strive to provide attentive, reliable, and compassionate care for every pet I meet. During the week I work from 10 AM to about 6 PM Monday through Friday. Outside of those hours I am available from 7:30 AM to about 9 AM Monday through Friday. Then on the weekends I’m typically free starting as early as you need me and as late as you need me. I ensure that I maintain my litter for my cats clean consistently washing the litter boxes replacing the litter and showing that I’m scooping at least three times a day. I also feed my cats twice a day and ensure they have a mix of wet food and kibble. For my dog I typically always wake up early in the morning to take him on a long walk and then I typically provide my dog breakfast followed by a treat. I spent a lot of time next to him so I will pet him hug him give him attention simulation. I did ensure that after work when I come home that I walk him at least 30 minutes and ensure that I am checking in on him and feeding him no later than 6 PM every day and then going on another walk after dinner. On the weekends I typically tip my dog on longer walk so we’ll go out and walk for about an hour on Saturday and Sunday I’ll make sure that I keep him away from a high foot traffic area is just to avoid any potential dog interactions that we may not be fully confident in as we don’t know everyone’s pet care routine or nuanced behavior issues. I’m always attentive and patient.
“Absolutely wonderful! Nikka watched our 9 year old sometimes-knuckleheaded pitbull for a night and she was perfect. She’s an excellent communicator, followed directions, sent lots of photos and updates, and left the house clean and tidy. We’d rehire her in a heartbeat.”

“Loretta was a wonderful cat sitter. She was very conscientious about making sure our cats were cared for properly (we have a fussy eater and an over-eater, so they have to be watched carefully). And she was very responsive to messages. We came home to two happy cats!”

“Kimberly is simply the best! We know our dogs are in great hands with her not only because she sends lots of great updates, but also because our dogs look around for her when we get home with their tails wagging like crazy. They like most people, but they really love Kimberly!! This is our second time booking Kimberly’s sitting services and we are so happy to keep working with her in the future. Kimberly is a true professional, a great communicator, a clear dog lover, and simply a pleasure to work with. She also takes great care of our home while we’re away, giving us a huge amount of relief and peace of mind to be able to enjoy time away. I just can’t say enough good things—we are so lucky we found her, our dogs absolutely love her, and she is the best any pup or pup parent could ask for!! Thank you so much Kimberly!”

“Satine was an excellent cat and house sitter. I could tell Pepper was comfortable and well cared for by the pictures and updates Satine sent. She also left the house cleaner than she found it, which we really appreciated.”

“Shai is the BEST!! Truly the best Rover we have ever had. My dog takes awhile to warm up to people generally but loved her the moment he saw her and CRIES when she leaves the house (which he doesn’t even do for us!!). We are so grateful we found her!”

“Seng did a wonderful job taking care of our senior dog and our home while we were on vacation. Our dog had some separation anxiety while we were away but Seng handled the situation professionally. Highly recommend Seng and will book for future travel.”

“We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Heidi being our house and dog sitter. From the very beginning, she were incredibly attentive, responsible, and communicative. We received regular updates, photos, and thoughtful messages that gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Our dog was clearly well cared for, happy, and comfortable when we returned home. It was obvious they paid close attention to routines, needs, and little details. They also took great care of our home — everything was clean, organized, and exactly as we left it. It’s not easy to trust someone with both your pet and your home, but Heidi exceeded our expectations in every way. We would absolutely book them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional sitter. Thank you Heidi!!”

“Emiliano was our first male to sit for our 1yo puppy. He was extremely gentle and caring and agreed to meet with us and our pup before his stay. He went out of his way to make sure our home looked even better than we left it, with a happy dog to come home to also.”

“Gianna was great with Athena and she left my place in such great condition. I was worried Athena would be a handful because she’s a stubborn pup but Gianna reported no issues. Thanks so much!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Daly City
Ashley took such great care of Paloma! I could tell through the photo updates she was having such a fun and positive experience with Ashley. It was my first time using a pet sitter so I was nervous and Ashley put me at ease. Finally Ashley left the apartment in great condition and helped me deal with maintenance issues so everything was perfect when I got home.

Noel is a phenomenal pet sitter. My dog is my whole heart and is definitely spoiled and slightly picky. She willingly and happily catered to all of his whims and he was happy and healthy upon my return, which is all I really ask for. On top of that, Noel left my house so tidy and clean when I returned, which was so nice to come home to. She provides great and regular updates with photos, videos and description of what they got up to each day. Every neighbor who met Noel while she was caring for my dog reached out to me to let me know how kind she was and that they could tell my dog was happy with her, which is so important to me. Nothing but the most positive thoughts on Noel!!

Kassidy was absolutely fantastic! She watched my dogs for over a week, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She kept me updated throughout the stay with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my dogs were well cared for, loved, and happy. I came home to relaxed, healthy pups and a great overall experience. I would absolutely trust Kassidy with my dogs again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative pet sitter. Thank you, Kassidy!

Brooke is a wonderful sitter! This is her second time sitting for our two dogs and our anxious pup is already is warming to her! Our dogs are very different and she is very attentive to their individual personalities and needs. We’ll definitely be booking Brooke again!

I had a great experience with Michael! He was reliable, and took excellent care of Kona. He kept me updated throughout the stay with messages and photos. Kona was well cared for and happy. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog sitter, and I would definitely book with him again.

Hannah was great!! She was quick to respond to messaging and showed up on time for meet and greet and for dog sitting. My dog loved her and I felt very confident about leaving her at my place to care for her. She even removed all of her bedding after spending the night! Thank you Hannah!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Daly City on Rover is $69.55 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 7,951 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Daly City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Daly City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Daly City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Daly City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Daly City. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
