“Our 20-mth old Goldie took to Elise instantly, so that was a good sign. On one visit, Charlie had a really upset stomach. Elise communicated the issue and stayed a little longer to give our pup some extra attention when he (and I) really needed some extra help. Elise has been great!”

“Dave is wonderful with our high energy poochie girl! He is reliable, friendly, and provides great photos and reports on her walks! We feel so lucky to have found him!”

About: I’m a dog mom who understands how important it is to leave your dog with someone you trust. I care for every dog as if they were my own and only host one additional dog at a time alongside with mine. I work 9–5 in the office four days a week, but my mornings and evenings are centered around pet care. I provide early walks and feedings before work and extended care after. Nights and weekends are fully available, with weekend stays offering plenty of playtime and walks to keep your pet happy and engaged. I provide a safe home environment with regular potty breaks and supervision. I only host one additional dog at a time for personalized care and follow each dog’s routine closely. My dog, coco - a friendly 35lbs Goldendoodle, Coco, makes a great companion.
“Page was awesome and we would rebook her again! She was timely and communicative throughout our booking! As first time users of Rover, and Alfie's first time having a dog walker drop-in, she made it very easy for us to trust her and her experience walking small dogs. She went above and beyond our requests and provided detailed updates of her visits. Thank you so much Page for being a responsible and loving dog walker!”

About: I'm a work-from home writer and editor seeking pups who like walks on the beach, trips to the dog park, play in the back yard, and flops on the couch. I share my spacious one-bedroom apartment with The Governor, a one-eyed Italian Greyhound and Bobcat, a 12-year-old Cornish Rex cat (so if your dog hates cats, you'll probably want to pass on us). We'd love to have your dog join us (well not the cat) for on-leash walks on nearby Ocean Beach, trips to the dog park (Golden Gate Park and Stern Grove are our jams, but we're happy to drive to your pup's fave park), visits to my good-sized back yard (great for dogs with shy, frequent, or reluctant bathroom habits), and naptime on the couch or in bed (the cat will be back for that part). Since I work from home, I'm always here to make sure no one gets in trouble, and that everyone gets plenty of fresh air and exercise. When I do leave (rare), I have a great online security system I use to keep a remote eye on activities, so I can peek at your dog from my phone no matter where I am to make sure no shenanigans are afoot. I also have solid baby gates and rooms with doors for any dogs who need a little private time, all in dog-proofed and friendly rooms. I also have a car, so if there's ever a serious issue (knock on wood that there will not be!) I can get any distressed animals to the hospital of your choice in a flash. When we're at the beach and park, I also tag every guest dog with Tile, a temporary gps tool that lets me track any escapees in a flash. Though I'd never take your dog off-leash at the park or the beach, and I've never had a runaway, I still believe that it's far better to be safe than sorry, right? If you'd like, I'm happy to provide references from both animal care professionals and regular people, who can all attest to my pet-care-giving prowess. You can also check out my photos to see a variety of dogs having fun in and around my home. Enough about me! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Can't wait for your pup to come hang out at my place! Why I love dog sitting My parents got a dog right before I was born, so I've had them in my life always! Most recently, I had a dachshund/black lab rescue for over a decade, cared for a 17-year-old chihuahua in the last years of his life, and currently have an Italian Greyhound bossing me around. About my yard I have a 25x25 back yard that's a mix of garden, undeveloped dirt/growth, and plants and trees. It's an ongoing project. My experience administering medication Yes. I've given subcutaneous fluids, pills, and liquid meds to many dogs. As a writer, I work from home and set my own schedule, so I have the flexibility to walk, play with, or just flop with your pets. I have a fenced in yard and several separate rooms to allow for separation between any pets that need it. I also own my own car, so I can quickly ferry any pets in distress to an ER vet, if needed.

“Destiny was an absolute lifesaver! I needed a last-minute walker and she came through without hesitation — and honestly, she set the bar high. From the start she was professional, responsive, and just genuinely lovely to work with. She even came prepared with treats, and took the time to ask permission and check about allergies first — such a thoughtful touch that showed she really cares about the dogs in her charge. My pup came home happy, wagging, and gloriously tired (every dog owner's dream!). You can tell he had a great time. If you're looking for someone you can trust with your fur baby — especially on short notice — Destiny is your person. We'll absolutely be booking again!”

“Responsive, on time, friendly. What more can you ask for when looking for someone to walk your fur baby? Sherian was great with Ziggy! The fact that he’s currently laying down passed out on the floor means he had a wonderful walk. 😊 If you’re looking for a walker, I highly recommend Sherian!”

About: I grew up with two dogs and as an adult, I also discovered my love for cats! I have now sat for one lovely goldendoodle and four cats with a wide range of age ranges and personalities through TrustedHousesitters (see screenshots of reviews) and am excited to try Rover :-) I work remotely for a nonprofit and am relatively flexible for walking, pet playtime/company, or extended overnight stays! Currently living in Central Sunset and primarily use transit to get around :-) I've been a digital nomad for the past 3.5 years, and just settled in SF in June. After living a semi-nomadic lifestyle, I’ve really missed the warmth and loving energy pets bring and, will treat your pet(s) as if they were my own 💛Additionally, I’m very accustomed to staying in others' homes and shared spaces through my travels. I’m respectful, tidy, and communicative. I also have a green thumb and would be happy to take care of any plants you may have as much as needed!
About: Hi! I’ve been caring for dogs for the past four years since moving to San Francisco. I started by helping friends and neighbors with their dogs, and I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s personality and routine. I’m very attentive, detail-oriented, and always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Whether that means sticking closely to feeding schedules, giving extra attention on walks, or making sure they get plenty of playtime and affection, I take pet care seriously and treat every dog like my own. I’m happy caring for energetic dogs, shy dogs, seniors, and pups who need a little extra patience and attention! Pet care fits very naturally into my routine because I work my own schedule and have a lot of flexibility throughout the week. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, feedings, and playtime as needed, and I make sure pets get plenty of attention and consistency while you are away. I enjoy building pet care into my day and always try to be dependable, communicative, and accommodating to each pet’s routine. I focus on providing attentive, reliable care while keeping pets comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I’m very communicative and make sure to send daily photo updates and check-ins so you always know how your pet is doing. I also respond quickly to messages and am happy to adjust care as needed to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Wei is amazing with my dog - she’s so happy to see Wei for her walks and always comes back tired. Wei is super reliable and very communicative, sending tons of pictures every booking”

“Dana was awesome. She was professional, warm, and genuinely friendly from the start. She arrived right on time, followed all directions carefully, and carried herself with a confidence that immediately put me (and my dog) at ease. My dog was visibly excited to see her and came home happily tired and relaxed after their walk — always the best sign. Dana was communicative and prompt throughout. I would absolutely book her again.”

“Jill can be trusted to care for your beloved companion. She is reliable, mature and responsible, and a pleasure to work with. And Sophie our Chihuahua mix is very comfortable with her, and she is very particular about who she'll go with.”

About: Now a mostly retired zoo professional, I have decades of experience in animal care, including having dogs for 30 years and caring for the pets of friends and family. I have a special fondness for seniors and have adopted several over the years. I am certified in pet CPR and I am volunteering at Muttville! Being in the presence of animals is my greatest joy. My schedule is flexible, and I can care for your babies any time during the day or early evening on most days. Just reach out and let me know when and where! I will follow your instructions to the letter and will be certain to treat your babies as my own. Working in the zoo field for decades has given me a deep appreciation for the importance of following protocol and prioritizing animal safety while having fun and finding joy in the moment!
About: I’ve witnessed every stage of my pets' lives since I was a child, and they've become a cherished part of me. Each one has taught me valuable lessons, shaping how I care for my own pets, Leo and Oogway (my tortoise). Also, due to someone always being home and living close to Golden Gate Park; that is also something we do almost daily. We go on walks for about 45-1.5 daily! Obviously we will tailor to every dogs needs!! I work full-time and typically start my mornings around 7:00 a.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Our day begins with a walk, followed by feeding and fresh water for all pets before I leave for work. While I'm at work (usually 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.), my partner is home and available to care for the pets. Although this is my Rover account and I am the primary caregiver, my partner is often present, ensuring pets receive consistent attention and companionship throughout the day. When I return home, we enjoy another walk and spend the evening together. At least one of us is usually home, so pets are rarely left alone for more than a few hours, except occasionally when my partner is attending class. Here's a version focused on you as the sole caregiver: I've grown up surrounded by animals of all kinds—from reptiles to cats and dogs—and have always been attentive to their individual needs. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important consistent, thoughtful care is and treat every pet as if they were my own. My dog, Leo, is a well-adjusted and independent 5-year-old, and I also have experience raising puppies. I welcome dogs of all ages, provided they are house-trained and comfortable in a home environment. My goal is to create a safe, structured, and stress-free experience for every pet in my care, with plenty of attention, exercise, and affection throughout their stay.

About: I am reliable, loving and fun! I I will care for them as I would my own. I am the trusted sitter of most of my friends and family and love all the pets I am fortunate to have in my life! I pet sit on the weekends and on week days in the summer. I can taylor my schedule to meet the needs of your pet(s). I keep my pet care on a schedule. Pets feel more comfortable when they know what to expect and when. Even though cats are independent, they love and need human interaction. So, quality time, feeding, brushing, walking times are all on a schedule. It is easier for me that way as well.

Outer Sunset dog parents share their Rover experiences
It was such a relief to have Flurina’s help walking our dogs these past two weeks! It was super easy to coordinate with her too. I could tell the dogs loved her and we appreciated not having to worry about them being cooped up at home all day while we were at work.

Aaron provided excellent care for our dog Honey. He walked her 6x over 2 weeks. Honey was timid the first couple of times, but Aaron was very patient with her while the trust grew. He’s very communicative and flexible which is greatly appreciated. We’ve already booked him for the next time we need dog walking services!

Zach is awesome!!! He's been working with one of our dogs (Cory) that is a bit difficult (reactive toward other dogs and slow to warm up with people) and he is prompt, follows directions well and has been able to handle Cory such that Cory will now sit on his lap.
