“We couldn’t have been happier to have Martha as our dog walker when we went on vacation recently! She was very professional, communicative with us and sent tons of pictures and took Lacey on long walks. She went above and beyond in so many ways! We had interviewed two dog walkers and my husband commented several times how lucky we were to have hired Martha. We will definitely use her in the future. :)”

“Callie was really professional and helpful for taking care of my dog Erin on walks in the morning while I was out of the country. Since I was in a different time zone and in an area where I didn't have great service, I was super impressed by Callie's ability to handle unpredictable situations as responsibly as possible and as independently as possible. Would love to have her take care of Erin again!”

“We have a reactive dog and Joseph has been doing a terrific job managing her in our neighborhood with lots of dogs. You’re so great to help and so happy that fell. Get these walk during the day.”

“Thank you so much for walking my dog. Maria is very quick to respond and saved the day when I was out of town. Maria was very communicative before, during, and after my dogs walk. I appreciated seeing the pics of my pup happy on her walk.”

“Nicola has been incredible. My pup can be a bit anxious, and Nicola has been such a warm and generous presence for her. I was nervous about having someone start to walk her regularly, but Nicola clearly loves and understands dogs. She is also super professional and communicative and has made the whole experience so easy. Strongly recommend working with Nicola!”

About: Hi, I'm Ko! I have a deep love for animals that goes back as far as I can remember. I've spent 10+ years caring for dogs and building a genuine understanding of what animals need to feel safe, comfortable, and happy. I believe a pet's emotional and mental wellbeing matters just as much as the physical basics. My goal is always for your pet to feel understood and at ease, whether that's a dog who needs a long run or a cat who just needs a calm, respectful presence in their space. Your pet is family. I make sure to treat them that way. I have a flexible schedule and am happy to adapt to whatever routine works best for your pet. With structured routines, frequent updates, and fun weekend adventures, your pet's well-being and happiness are my top priorities. I work remotely part-time, so I have ample time to exercise, feed, and love on your pet! I have no problem with pets that may need more attention and keeping my time outside of the home brief (1-3 hrs.) When caring for pets in their own home, I prioritize keeping their world as familiar and comfortable as possible. One of the primary ways I ensure your animals feel safe is by closely adhering to their routines so I follow feeding, medication, and exercise schedules closely and treat any deviations as the exception, not the norm. Before settling in, I do a quiet walkthrough to check for anything that could pose a risk—unsecured doors, open windows, potential hazards—so your pet's environment is as safe as it is comfortable. From there, I let the pet lead. Some warm up quickly, some take time, and I'm equally comfortable with both. Throughout every visit, I keep you in the loop with regular updates and photos. You should never have to wonder how your pet is doing.
About: I rescued a puppy in 2010, trained him, walked him daily, and loved him unconditionally through his energetic puppy phase, teen angst (not actually because he was always happy), adulthood, and silver sunset senior days. He lived a happy and healthy 14 years, and now I am joining Rover to continue my care for dogs until I feel ready to adopt a new puppy. I have boarded several family and friend's dogs in the past since they know I am responsible, active, and trustworthy! I work from home (fully remote) so would never leave your pet during the workday to commute to an office. I have a very flexible schedule so I can easily take your pet out to go to the bathroom and walk whenever. I live within walking distance of the Panhandle and Golden Gate Park. I also have a fenced backyard, so I have access to plenty of places to walk dogs. I live on the garden level of a Victorian home, so it is very easy for me to take the dog outside. I would let your dog roam freely around my 2 bedroom unit, but don't allow dogs on the couch or bed.

About: I grew up with 5 cats and two dogs, but alas, I cannot take one in permanently. I would love to connect and care for your animal! I have taken care of my own pets and others since I was a young girl. I have worked with kittens, puppies, senior furry friends, and more! I am available all day Friday-Monday. I work part-time in affordable housing and can ensure that when I am with your lovely pet, my undivided attention will be all in. I am conveniently located, nestled near four different parks. I can take long walks, play fetch, or just relax at home. I can offer a dignified, loving, and considerate playhouse for your animal.
About: In addition to being raised sharing responsibility for our household cats and dogs, I've been providing house sitting and pet care for my community for as long as I can remember, and thus have ample references I'm happy to provide! Aside from regularly caring for dogs and cats, I also have snake & reptile and even horse experience! Making sure your animals get the care they deserve is really important to me, and it's always heartwarming to meet new fun creatures. I am a student working part time and I'm very well available to take care of your animals. I'm best available for visit and house sitting services. One of the reasons I wanted to join Rover was that I am moving into a pet-free apartment and I'm really excited to get my dog and cat fix. I don't have availability to host animals, but I am a diligent walker/visitor/house-sitter with years of experience. It makes me feel good to take care of your space and your pet because it offers me a sense of adventure and newness that I often look forward to! I'm always happy to provide references upon request. I've got many :) Family and external, too!
About: Hey, I'm Taylor! Loving animals is not my whole personality, but it's close. I've been taking care of dogs big and small since I was a kid, and done more serious pet sitting and walking for friends & neighbors since 2017. Pictured is Wheezy, the love of my life: a half Boston Terrier half Pitty I rescued around 5 years ago and nursed back to health. Holler with any questions! I am a journalist and work weird hours! Generally available for afternoon and evening walks both week days and weekends on a case by case basis!. I have a fenced garden area where my pup loves to tromp around. I also live very close to Alamo Square Park, where we love to walk and play if you're comfortable with your pup being social. I've trained Wheezy to return when off-leash but never let other pups off leash without owner permission. In the home, I've got a large crate if needed.
About: Grew up in a house full of love - taking care of 2 very silly frenchies, 3 cats, and baby bunnies. Since moving to the city for grad school, I miss my furry friends and would love to put all my love, cuddles, experience, and playful energy to good use supporting my local community. I’m currently a graduate student in clinical psychology on track to be a licensed therapist working part time. I am available Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays starting at noon as well as some Saturday’s to stay with pets in home, go outside for walks to the park, or any extended overnight sitting needed. Any animals that spend time with me will receive ample care and a free psychoanalysis session. I live in a ground level home with a fenced back garden/yard area. Fury friends are welcome outside and inside and on the furniture and will be cared for lovingly and respectfully in line with their owners wishes!
“RJ was very professional and easy to work with. Our dogs seemed to really enjoy the time that he spent with them on walks and during playtime, and RJ appeared to connect with them as well. Excellent service provider and I wouldn’t hesitate to contact him to care for my pets in the future. Thanks RJ!”
“Shanna was great and super prompt and friendly, even though it started pouring right as she came to pick up the pup! Looking forward to working with her again, hopefully!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Haight-Ashbury
James is an excellent dog walker for our dog, Dory! Dory can be a little shy and wary of strangers, but she really warmed up to James within a pretty short time period. We attribute it to James’ easygoing nature and positive energy. He is incredibly responsive, provides very thoughtful updates, sends many photos of our sweet pup, and always keeps us informed. We are grateful for James and appreciate that he treats our Dory girl with love, kindness, and patience. She seems to enjoy her walking adventures with him! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a dog walker they can trust!

Sam is really the best! He is punctual, r caring and our dog loved every time he came to the door. We needed him in a pinch for a family emergency and he was so kind to help take care of our dog in a last minute. It removed all worries during a very stressful time. Sam is our first line whenever we need someone. So glad we found him!

Taylor is easy to work with. She was very kind and patient with our two small timid dogs. They can be shy and bark or hide with strangers. She took the time to build trust with them and get them to play and go on walks. They were happy and tired when I got home. I would definitely hire Taylor again.
