“Lisa was great. She was easy to communicate with and extremely flexible. She took good care of our dog Indigo and sent me photos/videos every day. We were very pleased with her care and will definitely book with her again in the future!”

“Amber provided excellent care. Otis had a great time! We wanted Otis to experience more socialization with other dogs and he had two days of fun and playing with Amber and her family. Her location is perfect for travel out of PDX.”

“Our dogs have a blast with Steven and Christine. They always get tons of attention and activity! So nice to know they’re in such good hands and are such happy dogs while we’re away.”

“Keelan and Sabrina were amazing with my boy Tabor. They sent daily updates with great pics and videos of Tabor playing and hanging out with their sweet pups and took him on several walks every day. Tabor seemed right at home with them!”

“10 out of 10 would recommend she is a great dog sitter always kept me informed. And even put up with my dog stinky farts lol if you had to choose a sitter, I would put all your money into Brittany. Very cool person very knowledgeable when it comes to dogs and very friendly can’t wait to book with her again.”

“Jake was the superstar of my vacation. I was stranded in Vegas after all airlines canceled their flights to PDX for the day and every flight out for the next 3 days was booked up. He extended our boarding without complaint and was so easygoing about the whole fiasco. Buddha came home so happy and sleepy from playing with Zoe. I will recommend Jake to anyone I know looking for a dog sitter!”

“five stars as always!! briana watched my dog twice in quick succession; he had a great initial stay and was eager to return. she took great care to understand and tend to his particular needs and idiosyncrasies. it was a joy and relief to know that my stubborn, aging dog was taken such good care of while i was away 🤍 he returned exhausted and happy, and as much as he missed me i know he’ll be excited for any future stay with briana the next time i leave town.”

“Barry was fantastic with Ollie! This was my first time using him, and I couldn't be happier. Ollie seemed incredibly relaxed, happy, and well taken care of the entire time. I really appreciated that Barry sent regular picture updates of their walks and nap times, which gave me total peace of mind. I will definitely be using Barry again and highly recommend him!”

“Milo took such good care of butters! Very communicative and sent daily photos. Butters looked like she had a blast with momo too! Will be booking care with Milo again!”

“Linda was great with my dog and was very communicative. She went above and beyond to make my dog’s stay more comfortable. I would book with her again for any future dog sitting services.”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives. I grew up caring for animals by pet sitting dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small pets while having dogs in my home as well. My partner also grew up volunteering at local animal shelters and had dogs in the family as long as they can remember. We have experience caring for dogs of all ages and personalities, including puppies, seniors, and anxious dogs. Until recently, we cared for our senior dog with a slew of genetic health issues who has since passed and our current dog has ongoing eye care needs. Because of this, we are comfortable administering eye drops and ointments, oral medications, ear ointments, and we are happy to learn any medication routine your pet requires. Our current dog also came to us completely untrained and not housebroken, so we understand the patience and consistency it takes to help dogs learn new routines. We’re happy to continue potty training and reinforce positive habits while your puppy stays with us. Since we both work from home, your dog won’t be left along for long periods and will receive plenty of attention, supervision, potty breaks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. Our current dog reads social cues very well and is great at helping new dogs feel comfortable. Above all, we treat every pet like they are part of the family. We know how important it is to trust someone with your best friend and we will make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home while you’re away. Pet care is a part of our daily routine. We both work hybrid schedules, so someone is always home to provide supervision, companionship, and care. Our dog enjoys 3 walks a day, including 1 longer walk or outing. We are happy to adjust that routine to fit your pets needs. We’re also available most weekends. Your pet’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. We provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly home where dogs are treated like family. We live in an apartment at ground level with easy access to parks and potty areas. Because someone is always home, your dog will receive constant supervision, plenty of attention, and a consistent routine. Well follow your pet’s feeding schedule, exercise needs, medication routine, and any special instructions to help them feel safe and at home.
“Veronica is very sweet. She was very nice to my dog. Her 2 dogs are very friendly and seems like my dog had a great time at Veronica’s house. I will ask her again. I do strongly recommend her to all dog owners.”

“Annika, John, and Pepper are perfect sitters for our shy dog! She gets lots of time to play/explore, spoiled with cuddles, and loves going over there. They’re always communicative throughout the stay.”

“What an amazing individual and her little doggie, Zoe. Marybeth is super casual, interested, caring, and flexible. She understands pets and their importance. I loved her tree-lined neighborhood and the HUGE fenced backyard available for my little pupper to play. I've decided Marybeth's the one to trust with my little pup, Mia.”

“Sarah was wonderful, and I would absolutely book with her again. She took great care of my dog, Gummi, and he got along so well with her Pomeranian, Ellie. I really appreciated the frequent updates and photos because they gave me so much peace of mind knowing Gummi was happy, having fun, and being so well cared for. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive dog sitter!”

We immediately knew we would feel safe and comfortable leaving Sherman in Gabriela’s care. The way she connected with him and us right away put us at ease and made us feel confident that his needs would be met. Sherman has now stayed with her twice and both times she sent regular updates and pictures to let us know he was calm and happy. He’s always excited to see her when we arrive and we haven’t had any issues while he’s been with her (like refusing to eat or tummy troubles, and our dog can be difficult!) We will always hope she’s available in the future. Thanks Gabriela!!

We felt like Moose was in excellent hands with Nicole from start to finish! This was the longest time we’ve left Moose with someone else, and felt reassured she was in Nicole’s care. Her communication was wonderful from inquiry to pick up, she sent daily thorough updates, is clearly experienced with rescue dogs, and Moose was confident and happy in the company of her dog Lola. Would 100% recommend.

Naomi was fantastic with our sweet girl Coco 🩷🐶She was super responsive and extremely sweet in sending us lots of pictures of our sweet pup. We are so lucky we found her, she helped us so we could make a very necessary trip out of town. Thank you so much Naomi, Coco had a great time with you and your sweet girl Lola!

Taylor is the person I’ve been looking for to care for my dog for 6 years! Our pup Dylan had such a great time hanging out with Taylor and Liv! He’s normally very shy around new people, but from the pictures we got he looked comfy and at ease with them! Taylor did an amazing job caring for our pup and always kept us updated, since it was the first boarding night!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
