“Our little guy Huck had a great time at Hannah and Matt's. They went the extra mile to make sure he was comfortable in their home and with their dogs. Lots of communication with photos and updates throughout our wee away. We already rebooked and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!”

“Shawna was a great host for my dog, she gave me regular updates and pictures throughout the weekend. And when I went to pick him up, he seemed happy and well adjusted. I would highly recommend Shawna and I would totally use her again.”

“Hayley and Graham took good care of our girl (A Anja German Shepherd). They had patience with her picky eatting, and tried various things to encourage her to eat. I really appreciated that, especially because this was her first time away from "mom & dad" Daily photos showed she was at ease. Thankyou again.”

“It was Choco first time staying with Katie S. She was sharing all the updates with us during the stay when appropriated. I can tell Choco is very happy ( his happy face ). Thank you for giving him such a loving and caring. We are truly appreciated your help.”

“Manisha took such good care of our golden doodle Roary. She was very thoughtful about Roary’s diet when we realized we hadn’t sent enough food. She wanted to make sure he had no allergies , could tolerate the food she had, and it was obvious that overall she prioritized his well-being and happiness. If Manisha is available to care for Roary when we take a trip again, I’ll definitely be taking Roary to her .”

“Jami has watched our energetic 3-yr old Husky Shepherd mix, Nori, many times. She basically provides the doggie equivalent of summer sleep away camp and Nori comes back ALL smiles! Jami is an excellent communicator and sends lots of photos/videos which put us at ease when we’re out of town. I’d highly recommend her for any families whose dog’s idea of a good time involves lots of puppy play time!”

“Yvonne was amazing! Salty was spoiled and I felt super lucky to have found someone that loved Salty as much as I do! I felt at ease on my trip and will definitely be using Yvonne again for Salty-care!!! ❤️”

“I boarded my doggies for the first time and was nervous, but Kristopher made it so easy . He was so kind and made me feel comfortable leaving my dogs with him . Knowing my pets were safe and in good care made my trip a lot easier . I would definitely leave my dogs in his care again. Thank you Kristopher 🤗”

“Kayley is absolutely amazing. It was our first time leaving our fur baby witth a pet sitter And we couldn't of asked for a better person to watch her. She sent us pictures and video updates. And was very communicative. Asha loved staying with her. If youre in the Portland area, would 100% recommend Kayley she is awesome!”

“Trang did a great job taking care of my dog and cat. She gave me regular updates and was very efficient in the drop off and pick up. Butch and Buffy came home happy with no signs of stress. That is HUGE since Butch is a little neurotic (he gets hit spots from nervous licking at boarding facilities) and Buffy - we’ll, she’s a cat so she doesn’t like new things. ? Thanks, Trang!”

“My little one LOVES her time at Heather and Roberto’s house. She gets to play with other dogs and their kids. I get picture updates of all the fun she’s having throughout her time there which I truly appreciate. She’s stayed with them once before and I’ve already have her booked for another stay. I couldn’t recommend their service enough!”

“Allison was really easy to work with. Her and her family took good care of my dog and responded timely with updates when I checked in. I would gladly work with her again in the future.”

“Kind and caring. Our dog bolts right inside like it’s her second home (we try to tell her it’s not). She loves Ron’s dog Emma, which seems to really help with having a companion dog there with ours to keep her company while boarding.”

“Siru was very kind, reliable, and accommodating to our needs and made my dog feeling very comfortable, as he can get nervous going to new places. Would definitely book again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Tualatin
Deborah took extremely great care of our pup, Shadow, for an entire week. She was quick to respond to all questions leading up to our departure and provided photo and text updates during our travels. We have already booked her again for future travel plans we have this summer. Thanks Deborah and family!
Michelle made my weekend easy and stress free. She was updating me, sending me pictures, making sure my dog’s needs were met. Also she was very accommodating with the pick up and drop off and the communication was excellent, which made me not worry at all. I would definitely recommend booking with her without a doubt.

I have two small kittens and left them with Roger and his family. They took the best care of our little gremlins. They kept in touch the whole time letting us see they were safe and well taken care of. Knowing their status, gave us a better calm on our trip out of town. I will definitely use Roger and his family on our future trips, they were amazing!
Rayleigh and the family were great! I had to have a last minute booking due to some issues with a other rover. She worked with me for the drop off time. Chewy loved his time there and I didn't have to worry about him at all! I will try to book again if I ever find the need while I'm in the area again.

Melanie and her family are so fantastic with our dog, Fennel. He has stayed in her home twice and both times came home happy and was clearly well loved and well cared for. Melanie is great with communication and sending update photos that clearly show he is having such a good time at Camp Melanie. I would recommend her home without hesitation to anyone I know. Fennel has separation anxiety (and so do I) so going away without him can be hard to do but finding a place that he is comfortable and genuinely seems happy to be boarded has been so wonderful and we feel so lucky to have Melanie’s home as an option for Fennel to have a fun vacation of his own when we go away.

Maddy has taken care of our rambunctious pup for multiple overnight stays and has cared for (and managed!) our pup so well. We really appreciate the daily updates, the transparency about how things are going and what other dogs are there (if any), and the wonderful playmate our pup has enjoyed in Maddy’s dog Amina. We have experienced a number of Rover sitters over the years, and Maddy’s professionalism rises to the top. Thank you Maddy we appreciate you!

Rose took such great care of our dog while we were away. She sent sweet daily updates and photos, took her on walks, and made us feel totally at ease the entire time. Our dog got along great with her dog and came home happy and relaxed. She was warm, communicative, professional, and clearly really cares about the animals she watches. We’d absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
