“Words simply aren’t enough to express the gratitude I have for how my 4 dogs were loved and immediately welcomed in by her family. To say my dogs wanted to stay with her isn’t an understatement. I consider myself blessed to have met such a wonderful and caring family to love on my pet people when I can’t. She deserves all the praise in the universe. Woof woof woof woof wag wag wag wag from the crew too. We love you!”

“River seemed to really love staying with Amy and her family. Their yard is enormous - a HUGE bonus to us because River doesn’t always get along with other dogs at a park. River was able to get worn out in the backyard and have bonus leash walks. Amy sent updates, photos & video and communicated if she had any questions. We will definitely book with Amy again!”

“I was so happy to hear Millie had a great time and everyone had a great time with her!! Such a beautiful home and beautiful people, we found a loving place for Millie to spend time whenever we visit Portland! Thank you to the family again, Millie and I so appreciate the accommodations☺️💕”

“My dog was absolutely spoiled with love by Katie and her family! I had never boarded my dog before and was nervous, but instantly had my mind put at ease by Katie! She sent photos of him getting snuggles and attention, looking so so happy! She made him feel so comfortable and at home! Highly highly recommend, she’s the best!”

“Allison was really easy to work with. Her and her family took good care of my dog and responded timely with updates when I checked in. I would gladly work with her again in the future.”

“Samantha and Brian’s family watched our Wheaten Terrier for two weeks. They kept us updated with photos and we knew he was in good hands. Thanks for giving Charlie lots of snuggles while we were away.”

“Finley had the absolute BEST time with Manisha and her family. They showered him with love and attention and sent many many pictures and videos to let us know how he was doing. We had complete peace of mind while we were away. Thank you, Manisha!!”

“Kind and caring. Our dog bolts right inside like it’s her second home (we try to tell her it’s not). She loves Ron’s dog Emma, which seems to really help with having a companion dog there with ours to keep her company while boarding.”

“We recently adopted Finn and were a bit anxious about how he would do after being with us for such a short time. Kristopher was wonderful—patient and responsive from start to finish. He kept us updated with photos and info that really put us at ease. Finn clearly had a great time with Kristopher and his family!”

“Our little guy Huck had a great time at Hannah and Matt's. They went the extra mile to make sure he was comfortable in their home and with their dogs. Lots of communication with photos and updates throughout our wee away. We already rebooked and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!”

“Yvonne and Sam are great dog sitters! Our dog, Coco, is reactive, but she did well in their company. We are thankful for Yvonne’s daily updates and photos, which helped put us at ease.”

“Jean was a loving caretaker of our pup while we were out of town! He got plenty of snuggles and attention. Loved that Jean sent us lots of picture updates!!”

“Great experience! Communication was excellent, Liz answered all my questions and did a meet and greet before pups stayed with her. She clearly cares about the dogs and their well-being”

“Odalis was wonderful! She’s super communicative and responsive and took great care of Kit. He came back happy as can be. I totally recommend and will definitely board with her again. Thank you!!”

“Best experience we’ve had leaving Juniper in the care of someone else. Jami clearly cares for the dogs under her watch. She sent many updates via pictures and video. From the media we received Juniper genuinely looked comfortable and happy with her doggy friends. Don’t hesitate to book Jami!”

“Jamie had an AWESOME time with Barbara -- I can't imagine a better experience for both him AND me! Jamie had Barbara's two wonderful dogs to play with, and I got to be worry free for a rare vacation! Added bonus: Jamie is a medium-sized year-and-a half old black Goldendoodle whose hair attracts mud like nails to a magnet. On Jamie's first day with Barbara, she took him to pet store so he could choose a new toy. Then, before I picked him up at the end of vacation, she bathed him. I can't recommended Barbara highly enough -- she's amazing!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Tualatin
Alexis and her kiddos showed my lil doggo so much love and grace. She cared for my pup in the second week of July, when there was still fireworks going off. My dog is super anxious with loud noises, but Alexis had the confidence and experience to comfort my dog while I was away. She sent loads of updates and assured me that my dog was getting very attentive care. Would rebook in a heartbeat!

Rayleigh and the family were great! I had to have a last minute booking due to some issues with a other rover. She worked with me for the drop off time. Chewy loved his time there and I didn't have to worry about him at all! I will try to book again if I ever find the need while I'm in the area again.

Melanie and her family are so fantastic with our dog, Fennel. He has stayed in her home twice and both times came home happy and was clearly well loved and well cared for. Melanie is great with communication and sending update photos that clearly show he is having such a good time at Camp Melanie. I would recommend her home without hesitation to anyone I know. Fennel has separation anxiety (and so do I) so going away without him can be hard to do but finding a place that he is comfortable and genuinely seems happy to be boarded has been so wonderful and we feel so lucky to have Melanie’s home as an option for Fennel to have a fun vacation of his own when we go away.

Maddy has taken care of our rambunctious pup for multiple overnight stays and has cared for (and managed!) our pup so well. We really appreciate the daily updates, the transparency about how things are going and what other dogs are there (if any), and the wonderful playmate our pup has enjoyed in Maddy’s dog Amina. We have experienced a number of Rover sitters over the years, and Maddy’s professionalism rises to the top. Thank you Maddy we appreciate you!

Rose took such great care of our dog while we were away. She sent sweet daily updates and photos, took her on walks, and made us feel totally at ease the entire time. Our dog got along great with her dog and came home happy and relaxed. She was warm, communicative, professional, and clearly really cares about the animals she watches. We’d absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
