“Katie has a very nice house and yard for accommodating Aki. Aki was very well cared for and was in great shape and happy when I picked him up. I highly recommend Katie for anyone looking for top care for their best friend. Katie also took some lovely photos of Aki, one of which I'll use for an art project!”

“Our little guy Huck had a great time at Hannah and Matt's. They went the extra mile to make sure he was comfortable in their home and with their dogs. Lots of communication with photos and updates throughout our wee away. We already rebooked and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!”

“Samantha and Brian’s family watched our Wheaten Terrier for two weeks. They kept us updated with photos and we knew he was in good hands. Thanks for giving Charlie lots of snuggles while we were away.”

“Puck loved staying with Jami! He really enjoyed the trips out and all the attention he got. Jami was great about sharing updates on how Puck was doing and we got multiple photo and video updates daily. I was a little worried that he may not want to come back home, but he was glad to see me and returned home exhausted and maybe a little spoiled. We will definitely book with Jami again.”

“Kristopher saved the day when our regular neighborhood dog sitter fell through. I had never used rover.com before, so I was shocked to even be able to find someone on such short notice. Less than a minute after I logged onto the website, Kristopher responded that yes, he was available. Talk about fast response time! Wow! He then sent beautiful, professional quality photos of our dog during the three day stay. He also made dropoff and pickup so easy. If we lived closer to his house, Kristopher would be our go-to dog sitter. Thank you for being so great, Kristopher!”

“Trang took such great care of our dog! When we met up, it was apparent that she’s absolutely a dog person. Trang gave us lots of updates and pictures while we were away - we felt reassured that our dog was staying in a loving home. We’ll definitely be asking Trang to watch our pup again!”
“Our dog Cooper was treated like part of the family while staying with Kayley. I got lots of updates with pictures of all the adventures they went on. I’m pretty sure Cooper was disappointed when he had to leave.”

“Katie could not be any kinder or thoughtful to us, the pet parents. The way Lemmy acts around her makes us feel like she treats him the same way. He gets lots of outdoor time with Katie and always comes home pooped. Lemmy is a reactive rescue and Katie has the perfect personality to handle him and is helping to socialize him more. Thank you Katie, we all love you!”

“Allison was very accommodating with our dog Yoshi who still has a lot of puppy energy. I could tell that Yoshi had a great stay, he came back home calm and very affectionate. I'll definitely reach out to Allison for dog sitting in the future.”

“Liz was exceptional! Our pup had an excellent stay and was so well taken care of. She was so flexible and accommodating when we had to make a few different time changes. We would 100% book with Liz again!”

“Marisela was accommodating, communicative, flexible and took great care of Philo. We had multiple changes to our booking but she was so understanding. We would love for her to watch Philo again. I highly recommend Marisela!”

“Highly Recommend! A Wonderful Dog Sitter! Manisha exceeded all our expectations when we left our doodle Simba with her for a month this summer. She was so attentive to his needs, accommodated any requests we made, and sent us tons of updates to ensure we knew he was well. Her family was very loving and kind to Simba as well, as was Manisha’s dog Bruno. We could tell when Simba got home that he missed her, a testament to what a wonderful experience she created for him! We couldn't be happier with the care Simba received while we were away. Manisha went above and beyond to ensure our pup was comfortable, happy, and well-cared for. Manisha built a great rapport with him. Simba needs lot of petting, belly rubbing, daily walks and he got it more than we expected. It's such a relief to know our dog was in such caring hands! We will definitely be booking Manisha again in the future and recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a responsible, caring, and trustworthy dog sitter. Thank you so much Manisha for giving us peace of mind while we were away!”

“Barbara took great care of our two older pups. She is very caring and conscientious, they settled right in were happy and relaxed when we picked them up. We would definitely use Barbara again.”

“Kendall was so amazing and was very responsive every time I texted. She sent picture updates and went above and beyond for our fur baby. They visited the dog park and even got dog friendly ice cream as a treat! I will definitely be using her again!”

“Paige & David did a wonderful job watching my dog. They are extremely welcoming and ready to make your pet feel at home with their family. Communication was excellent and consistent. Would use again!”

“David took wonderful care of our two dogs and kept us updated throughout the stay with messages and photos. Communication was excellent and our dogs were comfortable and well cared for. We would definitely book with David again, highly recommend! Thank you!”

“Our Gordon Setter had a blast starting a weekend with Damon and some other doggie friends. He took her to the dog park, let her sleep in his bed at night, and sent us lots of photos and videos of her having fun. I will definitely use him for future trips!”

“We had a great experience with Rayleigh and Nate! Copper was loved and well taken care of. Their communication was great & we got daily pictures of what our pup was up to! Will be going back :)”

“Heather was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Ponyo! She’s a sensitive and a bit (read:very) quirky pup, and I was anxious to leave Ponyo solo with a sitter for the first time after losing her brother earlier this year. Heather was communicative and attuned to Ponyo’s methods of communication. She came back better and happier than we left her. Thank you, Heather!!!”

“Whitney was great with my elderly dog! I know Charlotte had a great time and was well taken care of at her house. She sent pictures during the booking too which is always a plus!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Tualatin
Debra and her husband were absolutely amazing with our babies. They treated Bill and Athena like their own. We received frequent updates showing just how at home Bill and Athena were, even sleeping in their bed overnight (which they checked with us first on). It was hard for me to get Bill to leave as he loved being with them so much. We are trying to find more trips to go on just so Bill and Athena can go over to Debra's again.

Angela was awesome with Tika and very good with daily updates via text because I was on a cruise ship. and that was the easiest way to communicate. Tika came home tired and happy - I suspect Tika wants to go back because our life is very quiet, and she doesn't have two friends to play with. :-) I would definitely use her again!

Alexis and her kiddos showed my lil doggo so much love and grace. She cared for my pup in the second week of July, when there was still fireworks going off. My dog is super anxious with loud noises, but Alexis had the confidence and experience to comfort my dog while I was away. She sent loads of updates and assured me that my dog was getting very attentive care. Would rebook in a heartbeat!

Rayleigh and the family were great! I had to have a last minute booking due to some issues with a other rover. She worked with me for the drop off time. Chewy loved his time there and I didn't have to worry about him at all! I will try to book again if I ever find the need while I'm in the area again.

Melanie and her family are so fantastic with our dog, Fennel. He has stayed in her home twice and both times came home happy and was clearly well loved and well cared for. Melanie is great with communication and sending update photos that clearly show he is having such a good time at Camp Melanie. I would recommend her home without hesitation to anyone I know. Fennel has separation anxiety (and so do I) so going away without him can be hard to do but finding a place that he is comfortable and genuinely seems happy to be boarded has been so wonderful and we feel so lucky to have Melanie’s home as an option for Fennel to have a fun vacation of his own when we go away.

Maddy has taken care of our rambunctious pup for multiple overnight stays and has cared for (and managed!) our pup so well. We really appreciate the daily updates, the transparency about how things are going and what other dogs are there (if any), and the wonderful playmate our pup has enjoyed in Maddy’s dog Amina. We have experienced a number of Rover sitters over the years, and Maddy’s professionalism rises to the top. Thank you Maddy we appreciate you!

Rose took such great care of our dog while we were away. She sent sweet daily updates and photos, took her on walks, and made us feel totally at ease the entire time. Our dog got along great with her dog and came home happy and relaxed. She was warm, communicative, professional, and clearly really cares about the animals she watches. We’d absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
