“Jake took great care of our 10 month old puppy! He was quick with communication, flexible with drop-off/pick-up scheduling, and most of all made Rosie comfortable while she was away from her home.”

“Julie is sweet and kind and the animals love her. My senior dog had the best stay with her. Lots of cuddles and a safe warm environment! I will definitely book Julie again and again!”

“In all my years of owning a dog, I have never EVER found a sitter as good as Keelan and Sabrina. It is evident how deeply they love animals, how much they care about providing a safe home for my little guy, and how much joy they get out of doing what they do. As an anxious mom, I can finally rest easy on trips knowing how happy my dog is to be there, how much fun he’s having, and how well taken care of he is. Keelan and Sabrina are thoughtful, highly communicative (so many great pictures/videos), and have welcomed my little guy right into their family. I am thankful from the bottom of my heart to have found them, and cannot recommend them highly enough!”

“Nadine took SUCH good care of my pups! They loved their time with her. The backyard is amazing… so much room to roam. And her pets got along so well with mine. Lots of communication and photos. It was so nice to know my babies were being loved on so much while I was away. I’d definitely recommend Nadine!!!!”

“My lil Lucy took to Rob and Kristi so quickly, which gave me such comfort during my travels. Lucy did very well with them and was so pampered. Lucy is a senior dog so pampering her is well deserved. Thank you Rob and Kristi!!”

“Jennifer was great! Super easy to set up a meet and greet with and coordinate drop off and pick up. She sent cute updates and I could tell she took great care of Gus. She took him on lots of walks. Her dalmatian was also super sweet with Gus. I would definitely rebook with Jennifer!”

“Kathy was so great at understanding the needs of our older pups! She took care of them at their pace and gave us daily updates. We could tell our pups were comfortable with her house and family. We’d definitely book again with her!”

“I want to thank Heather for taking care of Mabel Mae. She shared pictures with me, let me know Mabel was having fun. She was very patient with Mabel, she is a 9 month old basset hound, so she is very active. When I reached out with a question Heather answered right away. Thank you Heather for taking such good care of my puppy!”

“We can highly recommend Damon! We needed to leave town and our two young rescue dogs both with anxiety around new people/ animals and some quirks. Damon immediately put us at ease with his experience and calm demeanor. He kept us appraised of their adventures while we were away with frequent pictures, videos and texts. He walked them and snuggled them even allowing them to sleep near him, not crated. They came home healthy, tired and happy. We will not hesitate to use him again and would highly recommend him!”

“Veronica was great! Our dog Perla is 1 year old and very active and playful. She was kept busy with Veronicas two dogs for 12 days, which Perla seem to enjoy very much. Veronica is very knowledgeable about dogs and very patient. She kept us informed with pictures and videos. We will definitely use Veronica again.”

“My dog and I love Sandy! She is our favorite sitter. Sandy is always prompt with our interactions. Charlotte (my fur child) always loves going to stay with Sandy and once we pull up to her house, she knows where we are and runs right to Sandy. I always feel comfortable leaving her with Sandy and know she will be loved and taken care of. Thanks Sandy!”
“Catherine was wonderful at taking care of my small dog for 10 days. She provided me photos and videos every day and updated on how my dog was behaving. My dog misses her due to her friendliness and kindness to all dogs. I would recommend Catherine to anyone who is looking for a sitter.”

“Kind and caring. Our dog bolts right inside like it’s her second home (we try to tell her it’s not). She loves Ron’s dog Emma, which seems to really help with having a companion dog there with ours to keep her company while boarding.”

“Katie took great care of our pup, provided regular updates, and was graciously flexible about pickup and drop-off as our travel plans shifted. Very much appreciated her help while we were out of town!”

“When Clyde didn’t bark not once when we first met Angelique, I knew he was going to be in good hands. He usually barks at all strangers at first! She went above and beyond with Clyde! She was so loving to him and sent me plenty of pictures and updates on his care so that I could have peace of mind.”

“It was our first time boarding our dogs, one of which has separation anxiety. Mersal was amazing— very involved with the pups, taking them on walks and playing fetch. We received frequent updates/photos, allowing us to feel at ease throughout their stay. She will definitely be our go-to sitter in the future!”

“Rocky had a wonderful time and was well-loved. Taken in by Ludo and Indiana Bones like he was one of the pack. Great home with lots of space to run and spots to cuddle. Highly recommend!”

“Tammy was fantastic and took great care of our dog! From the photos she sent us during his stay he looked like he really enjoyed himself. We definitely plan to use her again for and future boarding.”

Leah was wonderful! She was kind and flexible with pickup and drop-off, and her calm presence put my dog at ease right away. Her communication was excellent, she checked in often, sent regular photo updates, and always responded quickly. I’ll definitely book with Leah again!

Laura was great! This was my first time leaving my two dogs with Laura and I’m always very anxious to leave them with someone new. Laura was very understanding and sent cute photos whenever I asked. My boys were always snuggling and seemed relaxed and happy during their stay. Thanks Laura!

Jaime and Nicole were wonderful hosts and took great care of my dog Maisie. This was Maisie’s first stay with a new pet sitter, and as an anxious dog, I was worried she would have a hard time. However, Jaimie and Nicole made her feel right at home and she did great!

The Danes had a great time staying with Danae and Gallus. I knew from the meet and greet that the dogs would be in good hands. They communicated on a regular basis and sent pictures. They were accommodating of my travel schedule changes and just made everything easy. I highly recommend them as per sitters and they have a beautiful spacious home and yard which is wonderful for boarding.

Claire was an amazing pet sitter and was very communicative with us through the entire boarding process. We had a meet and greet prior to our trip so our dog could meet her dog Cherry and play a bit and get familiar with each other. They got along great so we proceeded with the booking. Claire gave us updated and sent photos thought the stay and it looked like Norm was having a blast playing with Cherry and going on walk along the river. It really put us at ease while we were away on our trip. We would definitely book with Claire again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
