“Jami is amazing!! It felt like my dog was on vacation as well! Long hikes, dog parks daily and giving snuggles and extra loving! She even went above and beyond when my dog had a bit of an ear issue! I will definitely be reaching out to her every time I need a sitter as I know I’ll have zero worries!”

“We feel incredibly lucky to have found Shari on Rover. This was our first time vacationing and leaving our special-needs dog, who has separation anxiety, and it was not an easy decision. From the very beginning, Shari made us feel completely at ease. She truly loved him and treated him as if he were her own. Knowing he was in such caring, capable hands gave us the confidence to fully enjoy our time away. Shari sent frequent updates and photos, which meant so much to us and really helped when we missed him. I couldn’t recommend Shari more highly. She is kind, attentive, and truly exceptional. We are so grateful for the care she provided and would absolutely trust her again.”

“We had a great experience with Deborah and her family watching our two dogs. We were nervous as it’s the first time we’ve had our dogs boarded. She arranged a meet and greet and sent photos which put our mind at ease. They love dogs as much as we do and took good care of our dogs.”

“Mochi has separation anxiety and tends to be cautious around new people, so I was worried about leaving her for a couple of days. Despite my worries, Yvonne reassured me that Mochi would be okay, and she wasn’t wrong! Throughout my trip, Yvonne sent updates and pictures that put a smile on my face/my mind at ease. I was happy to hear that Mochi was starting to bond with Yvonne and would even follow her everywhere. I can’t thank Yvonne enough for being patient with Mochi and allowing her the time to acclimate to a new space.”

“Allison was very accommodating with our dog Yoshi who still has a lot of puppy energy. I could tell that Yoshi had a great stay, he came back home calm and very affectionate. I'll definitely reach out to Allison for dog sitting in the future.”

“Katie was so responsive! It was the first time leaving Sezzy (not with family or friends). Katie communicated and sent me sweet updates regularly throughout her stay! Looks like Sezzy had a fun time and made some new friends. Thank you again Katie!!!”

“Amy is great! She responded right away when I contacted her and followed up with me on the morning of Coco's stay with her. She was very flexible and accommodating, which my husband and I really appreciate. We loved getting the picture updates of our spoiled princess. Thanks again, Amy!”

“Ron is the first non-Shiba-breeder person who we boarded our Shiba boy with, and Tanuki was well taken care of by Ron! Emma and Ron were able to loosen up Tanuki after an evening, and Tanuki really appreciated being able to lounge on furniture and beds. Being worried parents, we were comforted by Ron’s regular updates on our boy. We’re all very happy to have Ron to send Tanuki to for short trips!”

“Susie is the best!! She tool such loving and warm care of our boy!! I would trust her with our dog anytime. She sent photos and messages every day....he was so happy and at home. Absolute perfection. Thank you Susie!!”

“Roxanne was fantastic! She was very good with our pup, and did an awesome job sending us some pictures and videos of what our dog was up too. With the large amount of property it was great to know she was in good hands and that she could run around and play outside. As someone who had never used Rover, Roxanne definitely got us hooked; I’ll never use a kennel again. Thanks again!!”

“My pup had the best time. When I got back it was obvious he was well taken care of and enjoyed his time. He must of slept for 12 hours straight after coming home with all the play time and walks. Super fortunate to find such great care.”

“Here’s the scoop about Susan & Ian, they’re the BEST!!! This was our 3rd or 4th time using them and not only do we love them, our dogs love them too. We have ZERO concerns about our pups while we’re away knowing that they are in the best of hands. They also do an amazing job of taking pictures of our dogs, both at play and while resting so we know they’re living their best life. We will continue to use Susan & Ian again and again. They truly do an amazing job of caring for our fur babies!!!”

“Marc was incredible! I had just gotten my dog and Marc was super helpful and understanding that we were still in a learning phase. I felt more than comfortable leaving my dog with Marc and would absolutely recommend.”
“Angie is an amazing dog sitter! She took such great care of our 10-year-old Shih Tzu Bam Bam while we were away for almost one week. From the very beginning, she was kind, communicative, and clearly experienced with dogs - Bam Bam even gave her some snuggles, which showed how happy and relaxed he was with her! Angie sent us cute photos and regular updates about how Bam Bam was doing, and she gave him lots of love, attention, and playtime! We can't recommend Angie enough, and would love to work with her again!”

“This is our second time using Tamara to watch our dog while we are outta town. Our kids absolutely love the photo updates. She is lovely and takes such great care of our babe. We will absolutely use her again!”

“As usual, our pup came home calm and happy as can be. Manny always has such a nice time with Ashley, and we love feeling at ease knowing he's being well taken care of. Thank you Ashley + Mom!”
“What a fantastic experience for our dog and for us. Angela gave lots of updates and pictures and we came back to a very happy dog and people all around. We absolutely want Mischa to stay with her and her family again. Thank you!”

Deborah took extremely great care of our pup, Shadow, for an entire week. She was quick to respond to all questions leading up to our departure and provided photo and text updates during our travels. We have already booked her again for future travel plans we have this summer. Thanks Deborah and family!
Michelle made my weekend easy and stress free. She was updating me, sending me pictures, making sure my dog’s needs were met. Also she was very accommodating with the pick up and drop off and the communication was excellent, which made me not worry at all. I would definitely recommend booking with her without a doubt.

Rayleigh and the family were great! I had to have a last minute booking due to some issues with a other rover. She worked with me for the drop off time. Chewy loved his time there and I didn't have to worry about him at all! I will try to book again if I ever find the need while I'm in the area again.

Melanie and her family are so fantastic with our dog, Fennel. He has stayed in her home twice and both times came home happy and was clearly well loved and well cared for. Melanie is great with communication and sending update photos that clearly show he is having such a good time at Camp Melanie. I would recommend her home without hesitation to anyone I know. Fennel has separation anxiety (and so do I) so going away without him can be hard to do but finding a place that he is comfortable and genuinely seems happy to be boarded has been so wonderful and we feel so lucky to have Melanie’s home as an option for Fennel to have a fun vacation of his own when we go away.

Carmello loved his stay with Layha. Her pictures showed what a great time he had with her, her two dogs and Garrett. We felt very comfortable leaving Carmello with Layha for two weeks. He got the perfect balance of stimulation and relaxation while there. We look forward to having Carmello stay with them again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
