“Leila was great and provided us updates and photos over the weekend. Our older dog enjoyed her backyard and even ate during her stay, which sometimes she is too anxious to do during a stay. We definitely will use her services again in the future.”

“Irene is the most caring sitter I have found for my babies! It seems to be second nature. Thank you for the communication and updates during our vacation, it helped ease our anxiety, seeing how much the pups loved your hangout!”

“Kristen was incredible with our dog this week! Her experience with herding breeds really showed; she understood exactly how to handle that unique energy and made our pup feel right at home. She was so friendly and accommodating with our schedule, and the frequent photo updates and great communication kept us totally at ease. It’s a huge relief finding a sitter you can trust completely. Highly recommend!”

“Very responsive and treated my pups like their own. Even when a slight hiccup happened (my dog refusing her medication), they reached out and problem solved with me so that we could all feel comfortable with the resolution. My dogs were very obviously well taken care of at pickup and I appreciated how warm they were to speak with. Definitely would recommend and will be seeing up future stays.”

“Our plans were a little up in the air and Alexis was very accommodating. She kept us updated about how they were doing. It was nice knowing the pups were safe and sound!”

“Yvonne and Sam are very kind, patient and understanding people. My elderly chihuahua was taken very good care of during 2 previous visits. Nice pics and I felt he was happy and comfortable there. No doubt I would use her again.”

“Jennifer and Eric and their two sons were amazing with my nine month old pup! I was so grateful to have a safe loving home for my dog to be at while I was out of town. Thank you again so much for treating her like your own!”

“Hashi's stay with Shawna and the ladies of Hootie Pups was great, just as his stay before, even though this time was a little eventful, as Hashi managed to get away from their place (no fault of Shawna's). Immediately Shawna and friends alerted both DogVacay and ourselves. They kept us informed and went above and beyond looking for him on the surrounding streets. Within an hour, he was found. Dogvacay was also very responsive and proved themselves to be a great service in this emergency. We have no issue whatsoever with leaving Hashi with Shawna and friends again as he looked just as happy to see us upon return as he was to stay there.”
“We had an amazing experience, just like always! Rey was super comfortable and happy, and the communication was great—we were always kept in the loop. It truly felt worry-free for us. We can’t wait for Rey’s next visit!”

“Our little senior doxie, Rocky, spent 2 weeks with Barbara and we couldn’t be more happy with how it went! Barbara gave him lots of love and cuddles, and they spent some time watching Dodger baseball together. Rocky can’t wait for the next time he can spend time with Barbara 😊”
“As always Stephen never lets me down! Short notice! But it’s cool. Cuz my dogs get to hang with him And his dogs. And Stephen takes them for walks which I love! Hands down ! Love Stephen! ❤️🐾🐾”

“We love having Anna take care of our dog, Oreo. And, Oreo loves staying with Anna. Even after a while between visits, Oreo recognizes when we get close to Anna's home and gets very excited.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Aloha
This was the first time we used Rover and had Melani take care of our 8 year old yellow lab, Penny. Melani was amazing. She made the process easy for us and even on short notice gave us total peace of mind. We got daily updates on how Penny was doing. We will be asking Melani to take care of Penny in the future for sure!

We have a 1 year old who has reactive (scared) tendencies. I was so nervous to drop him off with someone we didn’t know, but let me tell you Malachi is cool, calm and my crazy pup went right over to him no issues. He sent photo and video updates over the weekend and seemed to really have a great time with our pup.

Marty took excellent care of our two small dogs, our Shih Tzu and Chihuahua. We were particularly grateful for her expertise in caring for small dogs, which provided us with added peace of mind knowing that our little ones were in a comfortable and safe environment. Marty kept us updated regularly, making us feel confident that our dogs were in good hands while we were away. We highly recommend Marty and will definitely book with her again.

Our first time having Jo Lynn and David sit for Griffin and couldn't be happier! From the start, they were incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with. You could tell right away how much they genuinely care about the dogs they look after — kind, caring, and thoughtful in every interaction. They sent us photos almost every day, which we loved getting to see. It gave us so much peace of mind while we were away knowing our dog was in such good hands. We'll definitely be booking Jo Lynn again and highly recommend them!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
