“Kristen was incredible with our dog this week! Her experience with herding breeds really showed; she understood exactly how to handle that unique energy and made our pup feel right at home. She was so friendly and accommodating with our schedule, and the frequent photo updates and great communication kept us totally at ease. It’s a huge relief finding a sitter you can trust completely. Highly recommend!”

“Irene was great, and my pup was wiped out when he got home, so I definitely feel like he got plenty of energy out! Tons of space, tons of toys, and human and dog interaction. We’ll definitely bring Miles back to Irene!”
“Lilly seemed to have a great time. She was in great spirits when we picked her up, and was obviously tired that night from all the attention she received from Kim and her family.”

“Kate is the best! She is very accommodating to the needs of our pup and schedule changes and everything that has come up. We are so appreciative of her and how her and her sweet family take care of our Latte!”

“So & John J were absolutely wonderful! Ollie had an amazing week-long experience. They treated him like family. I loved all the pics and videos they sent. He had tons of fun and came home feeling happy and loved. I couldn’t have wished for better care for my baby and would not hesitate sending him there again. Thank you So and John for your loving attentiveness and care. He had an amazing time!”

“Lea is a dog whisperer. I boarded two older dogs and one of the dogs has dementia. She was able to get this dog to trust Lea and warm up to her. She was also able to put diapers on her as needed. The other dog who doesn’t have dementia warmed up to her too. I was very satisfied with the care both dogs received and am boarding dogs with Lea again in May.”

“Yvonne was amazing! Salty was spoiled and I felt super lucky to have found someone that loved Salty as much as I do! I felt at ease on my trip and will definitely be using Yvonne again for Salty-care!!! ❤️”

“Our little senior doxie, Rocky, spent 2 weeks with Barbara and we couldn’t be more happy with how it went! Barbara gave him lots of love and cuddles, and they spent some time watching Dodger baseball together. Rocky can’t wait for the next time he can spend time with Barbara 😊”

About: Growing up with dogs inspired my passion for pet care. Over the last two years of pet sitting, I have gained valuable hands-on experience in keeping pets happy, active, and well-exercised. Whether it is daily walks, playtime, or keeping them company, I focus on building a strong bond of trust with your furry friend and sending you peace-of-mind updates! I primarily work from home with a highly flexible schedule, which allows me to fully prioritize your dog’s care and well-being. I can easily adapt my daily routine to match whatever schedule your pup is used to. Please let me know your dog's specific routine for feeding, walks, and potty breaks, and I will make sure to follow it perfectly! At my home, I have a well-maintained, fully fenced yard where your dog can play and exercise safely. For bedtime and safety, I utilize a crate or a playpen to ensure they have a secure rest. Please note that I cannot accept dogs that are used to sleeping in bed with humans. I am dedicated to creating a stress-free experience, so I will gladly adjust my indoor environment to suit your dog's unique personality and comfort level.
“We had an outstanding experience with Paulo. His communication was excellent from start to finish. He kept us updated with photos and messages, and it was clear that he really cared about our pet’s comfort and routine. We highly recommend Paulo to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible sitter!”

“Stephen is very accommodating and keeps one updated with lots of pics and progress reports of your fur babies. Sassy enjoyed her stay, and the patience Stephen had with the things Sassy put him through, well, was awesome! Highly recommend Stephen as a day care and or boarder for your four legged babies!”
“Josh and Leah (and Charlotte and Max) took care of our dog Max for two weeks. They sent photos every day were easily communicative giving us updates. They took the dogs on daily long walks. Our pup came home happy and tired! We would absolutely trust them again and hope to book again with them.”

“Jill was INCREDIBLE! It was our first time needing a long-term sitter and Jill was able to help coordinate care in a very timely manner!! She was very personal and communicative. She really goes above and beyond, daily exercise, runs, playing, dog park, socializing. Basically anything your dog needs. She even offered some homemade/homecooked dog food. Appreciated all of the photos and updates. Thank you so much Jill!! Bodhi had a blast!”

“One of the best, if not the best rover we have ever had! Super reliable, caring, and communicative the entire time. I felt completely at ease knowing my pet was in such good hands. They went above and beyond with updates, photos, and making sure everything was perfect. My senior dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. She didn't even want to leave when we came to pick her up! I would absolutely book again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

“Our older dog was taken care of wonderfully by this caring family. They easily managed his modified food prep and no-crate status. He came home relaxed and tired, with no signs of stress! We're happy to have found them for our short getaway!”

We can’t say enough about Emma and what a great pet sitter she is. Our Lab Valencia was so happy staying there she didn’t want to leave! She has a wonderful property for dogs, with h a fenced back yard and close to a forested park for walks. We will definitely hire her again.
Zach is absolutely wonderful; he’s a lovely guy with a great attitude who obviously loves dogs. The house is a terrific environment with a private backyard that Zach plays with the dogs in (quite a lot, which is great for my outdoorsy dogs) and the house itself is very comfortable and clearly dog friendly. Would definitely recommend Zach to anyone who needs a trustworthy, reliable dog sitter who has a deep love for dogs!

I believe this is Alaska’s 3rd stay with Brittany and I can’t say how well she watches our pup. She keeps her active and snuggles with her. Brittany sends me updates and videos and communicates regularly. She loves dogs and she treats our Alaska as if she was her pup and you can tell — Alaska tends to be super shy around folks and she literally runs in to greet her every time now.

Kate is amazing! She took great care of our puppy while we had a night off. Her place was big, clean, and safe. Her kids played with Ava (our puppy) which gave Ava important socialization. She took her outside for potty breaks and was attentive during the night. She is great with dogs. Ava made a good new friend! Thanks Kate!

Gage was absolutely great to work with. He took great care of our Boston Terrier Sasha. We received timely updates about Sasha every single day. This was our first time on Rover and we lucked out with Gage. Such a kind and caring person. Sasha came back happy, very playful and in a great mood. I highly recommend Gage and his pet-sitting services.

Heidi housesat for us for 2 nights and took great care of our two dogs. She was open to a meet and greet and easy to schedule with. Our dogs and Heidi clicked during the meet and greet. My husband and I left printed instructions and went through our laundry list of watchouts and info about our house and our dogs’ routines during the meet and greet. Heidi was very communicative with updates about the dogs throughout the stay. She was respectful of our home and even notified us that she swiffered our floors after forgetting to take off shoes in our house. There was a slight misunderstanding about the service end date but that was largely due to a Rover issue with applying care credits, resulting the need for a few separate bookings for one continuous stay. We agreed upon this, but it still resulted in some understandable confusion. Upon realizing she left early I messaged her (this was at midnight) and she immediately went back to our dogs and gave us an update the next morning. The frequent communication made it easy to provide live feedback and resolve issues quickly. Heidi is also very tuned into dogs’ personalities and accommodating of them. In two days she figured out a way to get my more submissive dog to play in the presence of my dominant dog, ensuring both dogs got their play time. She also provided them daily walks as we requested. While our dogs missed us, I can tell they had a good time with Heidi and were well cared for. After having many different sitters in the past, I can say Heidi has been the most detailed and transparent with updates, which was greatly appreciated as it made us more comfortable with having a house-sitter for the first time.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
