“I am hesitant to leave an honest review because I wish that Jimmie were always available to watch our girls, and I know he will be booked when word gets out. He is gentle and kind, and his fenced yard and family are wonderful. Our girls were obviously well cared for. They sniffed everything, slept in the shade of the tree, and spent the evening barbecuing with family. They came home exhausted and contented. I can't recommend Jimmie enough. Thank you, Jimmie!”

“Our first experience with Leila was so wonderful. She is friendly and easy to communicate with. She has a beautiful home - perfect for little dog zoomies. She sent pictures and videos and provided daily updates. He always looked happy. I knew he was being well cared for and having a great time. I’m so happy to have found a top notch sitter and Dagz is looking forward to many more stays with Leila.”

“Karly and family were fantastic with my Shepard. Her dog is very sweet and playful and was an instant friend and they played all day. Karly was understanding with me and kind. She sent a lot of great photos that kept my mind at ease. I highly recommend her. I’m going to book again!”

“Stop scrolling and just book Saawan and Kangna to look after your pet. Amazing communication, very accommodating with plans and above all they took great care of my older dog. Seriously, book them and be done with it.”

“We had to leave town suddenly due to a family emergency and our original dog sitter dropped out on us literally AS we were dropping Juno off. Karlee came through for us at the absolute last minute and made it possible for us to still catch our flight the next morning. She sent us lots of picture and video updates and seeing our dog happily playing with hers felt like medicine amidst all the stress. It was such a comfort to know Juno was being well loved while we were gone. Thank you Karlee!”

About: We love dogs and are excited to meet yours! My husband Dave and I both grew up with lots of pets. My family had dogs, cats, and gerbils. Dave had dogs, lizards, turtles, and birds. Together we adopted a chihuahua who sadly passed away a few years ago. Now we have a friendly mini Golden-doodle named Ruby. We know how it feels to miss your little pup while you’re away, so we will be sure to send you lots of updates and pictures! Pet care is built right into our daily schedule. Our dog Ruby relies on our routine for exercise, meals, and play, and your dog will simply join the fun! We structure our work tasks around daily outdoor play sessions in the fenced yard or walks and evening cuddle sessions on the couch. We provide nearly constant supervision by working from home, ensuring your dog’s loving care. We will let you know if we will be out of the home for more than 2 hours. Safety is our priority with a large, fully fenced yard and a secure, clean home. We make sure to keep choking hazards or dangerous items out of reach. All new guests are welcome to a pre-visit meet-and-greet to ensure compatibility with us and with our dog Ruby. We strictly adhere to your pet’s feeding, medication, and routine needs. We also have an extra kennel if you need one!
“Aliina was wonderful I will be a repeat customer! Oliver was in the best hands and had so much fun in her home with her and Teddy. The videos and picture updates were incredible and set my mind at ease seeing how well he was taken care of. When my flight got delayed over 3 hours I felt terrible and Aliina was so very understanding . Incredible service!!”

“Our puppy stayed with Angyl for two weeks while we were out of the country. She did a great job keeping us informed (with messages, pictures and videos) of how things were going. He sure loved his stay with her! Would definitely recommend Angyl for your boarding needs!”

“So happy to have come across Jennifer and Eric before boarding our pup. Seeing photos of him snuggling their kids and knowing he was being loved on all week gave us so much peace of mind while we were on vacation. Thank you guys so much!”

“This was my first time trying out DogVacay and I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant and convenient experience. It was a day before I was leaving town and Shawna was more than happy to take Wally (9 month corgi/chihuahua pup) in for the weekend. The drop off/pick up times corresponded with my schedule and updates were fantastic. I would recommend anyone in the DTLA area to drop of their dog for boarding.”

“Our little senior doxie, Rocky, spent 2 weeks with Barbara and we couldn’t be more happy with how it went! Barbara gave him lots of love and cuddles, and they spent some time watching Dodger baseball together. Rocky can’t wait for the next time he can spend time with Barbara 😊”

“Yvonne and Sam are very kind, patient and understanding people. My elderly chihuahua was taken very good care of during 2 previous visits. Nice pics and I felt he was happy and comfortable there. No doubt I would use her again.”

“I usually have my dog watched by family. 1st time booking with Rover. Very last minute booking for a long weekend stay due to an unplanned event in another state. Easy to book after setting up my account with information. John & So gave me updates every day with notes & video shorts. That made it easier for me not to worry. John & So have a nice home with a fenced in yard in a good neighborhood. Miyuki was walked every day. I think she enjoyed her sleepover. My 8 year old dog is constantly alert and has an average temperment, with bouts of high energy. I would use their services again and recommend them highly.”

“Kendall was so amazing and was very responsive every time I texted. She sent picture updates and went above and beyond for our fur baby. They visited the dog park and even got dog friendly ice cream as a treat! I will definitely be using her again!”

“we have booked with Jeff 4 times and he takes excellent care of Max. He sends pictures and updates frequently throughout the stay. Jeff is responsive, responsible, and great with dogs. We feel very fortunate to have found him!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Aloha
Emma is exceptional! Truly a dog whisperer. Jax absolutely loved his time with her (and with his new best friend, Bagel!). She even had Jax sleeping on his own, which is no small feat. 😂 One of my favorite photos from the weekend was all four dogs sitting together on the couch, completely focused on her. That pretty much says it all! Emma has such a wonderful energy — warm, friendly, and clearly someone who genuinely loves and understands dogs. She kept me updated throughout Jax’s stay with lots of photos and videos, so I always knew he was happy, comfortable, and having a great time. That kind of communication and reassurance means so much when you’re leaving your pup with someone else. She’s also incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and has already shared several helpful tips and suggestions with me that I really appreciate. Her own sweet dog, Bagel, is beautifully cared for (Emma even grooms him herself!) and has officially become Jax’s new best friend. I felt completely comfortable knowing Jax was happy, loved, and in such capable hands. I’m so grateful to have found Emma and wouldn’t hesitate for a second to leave Jax with her again. Highly, highly recommend!!

Melani and her daughters are awesome! We booked on short notice, but they were so kind and accommodating to us and our 6 month old pup, Bodie. We received plenty of pictures and never once did I worry that he wasn't getting loved on and taken care of. Their dog, Ricardo, was also amazing; very patient and gentle with our dog who is still learning how to socialize and interact with other dogs. This was our first time using Rover and Bodie's first time away from us for an extended period of time and I'm so grateful that his time was spent with Melani and her fam 🥰.

After our sitter cancelled 2 days before our trip o frantically tried to find a replacement. Vanessa responded and was so warm and kind. She was available to do a meet and greet the next day and my dogs loved her - my 1 rescue is NOT generally open to meeting new people. I knew right away they were in good hands. I am so thankful that Vanessa allowed us to have an enjoyable trip while I knew my dogs were well taken care of.

Karly took care of our little Shih Tzu like he was her own. Her family (incl her sweet dog) adapted to our dog’s schedule and preferences and made him so welcome and our my mind at ease. She was so attentive and caring and even researched how wildfire smoke impacts flat nosed dogs before and limited outdoor time when the air quality unexpectedly dropped. Karly provided lots of information up front and continuous updates with pics while we were gone. It was hard to leave our dog behind and go on vacation, but Karly relieved my stress about it. I will for sure be using Karly again!

My dog is a sweetheart but has such bad separation anxiety that she usually does not eat at all when I leave her for vacation. As soon as she met Manisha, she was wild with excitement like she was when she was a puppy. When she jumped on her, Manisha leaned in for the kisses instead of shying away. When her dog Bruno came outside, they became instant friends. And when Manisha’s daughters came down and loved on our dog during the meet and greet, we knew immediately it would be a good fit. It was the first time we have left on vacation without feeling worried about our fur baby. All of the photos and videos that were sent showed our dog happy and smiling and playing with the family. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this sitter. We are not new to Rover, my husband and I travel out of the country at least once a year and have used Rover sitters on multiple occasions for our last two dogs and this has been the best experience we have ever had. We will definitely book with Manisha and her family again. I felt like our dog was on a fun vacation at the same time we were!

Alexsia and Shelly were great to work with. We had last minute plans come up and they were so quick to set up a meeting and quickly get things figured out. Our pup came back so happy. Great updates and communication. We will definitely rebook with them in the future!

Sarah took wonderful care of our sensitive whippet during his first time away from us. She was attentive to how he handled the separation and took him out multiple times to make sure his exercise needs were met. We also really appreciated the consistent updates, photos, and texts throughout his stay. We felt reassured knowing he was in caring hands. Would definitely recommend Sarah!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
