“Barbara is a great awesome caregiver for my Maggie. She kept us updated every day and it seemed like Maggie probably didn’t wanna come home cause barber shows a lot of love towards animals. I would recommend her highly.”

“So happy to have come across Jennifer and Eric before boarding our pup. Seeing photos of him snuggling their kids and knowing he was being loved on all week gave us so much peace of mind while we were on vacation. Thank you guys so much!”

“We found ourselves needing coverage for our 3 month old puppy and were hesitant about boarding him. Vanessa has been wonderful. In preparation, we did a couple days of doggie daycare, and one overnight so everyone could get to know each other. He then spent 3 nights there and it went great. We always get pics and video which we love. Vanessa is extremely knowledgeable, and has given us great info on raising our puppy. And Charlie loves going there which is the best. We highly recommend Vanessa.”

“If I could leave 100 stars I would! Anu was so kind and took such good care of our dog! She was constantly sending me pictures and videos and I could tell she enjoyed having our dog around. I will definitely reach out to her again if I need another dog sitter!!”

“Aliina was wonderful I will be a repeat customer! Oliver was in the best hands and had so much fun in her home with her and Teddy. The videos and picture updates were incredible and set my mind at ease seeing how well he was taken care of. When my flight got delayed over 3 hours I felt terrible and Aliina was so very understanding . Incredible service!!”

“Second time leaving my pugs with Misty! She is so accommodating with my dogs. Both can be a little quirky and require some additional love and Misty is not phased a bit. Her and her son are always so happy to watch them and Max and Maggie were excited to get there the second time. I always feel comfortable leaving them with her and know they will be loved and cared for while they are there.”

“Steve was so great with my 1 year old mini Aussie. He sent pictures and updates every day she was with him. My dog gets nervous and he did a great job at reassuring her (and me lol) because this was the first time she’s ever been away from us. I definitely would rebook with Steve and highly recommend him for any pet care needs!”

“This family took great care of our dog and hamster, I highly recommend. I received pictures throughout our time away and updates on how the animals were doing. I will contact them for our next vacation away from home.”

“Heather is amazing! She sent plenty of pictures of my dog while he was with her. When I picked him up, he was as happy as can be. A big perk was having other dogs to play with. Heather is friendly, professional, and communicative. I would highly recommend her and plan to use her dog boarding services again!”

“Josh and Leah (and Charlotte and Max) took care of our dog Max for two weeks. They sent photos every day were easily communicative giving us updates. They took the dogs on daily long walks. Our pup came home happy and tired! We would absolutely trust them again and hope to book again with them.”

“Hayley & Graham are so awesome! I know Millie is in great hands when I drop her off at their house. Millie loves playing with their pup and is always so exhausted at the end of the day. They are very accommodating to your schedule and very responsive. I would highly recommend them to watch your pet😊”

“We couldn't be happier with Andy's care for our two dogs during our time away! Our elderly pomeranian, who has limited mobility and decreased vision, requires extra attention and patience, and Andy provided just that. She was incredibly thoughtful and meticulous in making sure our senior pup was comfortable and happy, even going the extra mile when he wasn't eating very well. She worked with him to ensure he got the nutrition he needed, which really eased our minds. Our 1-year-old puppy also had a blast with Andrea, and we could see from the daily updates and photos she sent that both dogs were well-loved and cared for. We truly appreciated the time and attention she gave to each of them, and the peace of mind she provided us while we were away. We wholeheartedly trusted Andrea with both of our dogs, and we will definitely be reaching out to her again the next time we need a sitter. Highly recommend her!”

“Saira was amazing! Ddoya had such a good time at the house and came back home so happy and relaxed! Gave me a lot of updates with the dog and is very communicative. She's willing to discuss any kind of adjustments or specifics for the pup. Overall, fantastic experience!”

“Emma is a true gem when it comes to pet sitting. With her genuine love for animals and her exceptional skills, she stands out as the best in the field. Whether it's a playful pup or a finicky feline. Much love and appreciation to my pet.”

“My experience with Sandy was excellent!! It was my first time boarding my dog at Sandy. She welcomed me and my dog, and we had a chat about my dog. She showed me where my dog would be going to stay and introduced other dogs. On the first day, she sent me my dog's photo and a little observation report about my dog. This was very kind of her. I did not have to worry how my dog was doing at a new place with other dogs. She seems to be very attentive and has a great awareness about dogs (e.g., how old ones act differently, eye sight, sleeping, etc.). She takes care of dogs like taking care of human babies.”

“Cristina watched my senior dog and made it so easy. She’s very comfortable with dogs and can read them like an expert. Her care and attention to detail were great. She kept me informed about how he was doing over the course of his stay. I would trust and engage Cristina for another stay.”

“We recently adopted Finn and were a bit anxious about how he would do after being with us for such a short time. Kristopher was wonderful—patient and responsive from start to finish. He kept us updated with photos and info that really put us at ease. Finn clearly had a great time with Kristopher and his family!”

“Juan was awesome with our boy Vandal! He took him on walks, went to the park, sent pictures, and gave him ALLLL the attention! We will definitely be booking with him again in the future! Thank you so much!!!”

“Morgan is our favorite dog sitter!! Our dog gets so much love and attention and freedom to run around and play on their property. She also is very kind and flexible and great communicating - including sending pics and videos of our little guy! Thank you Morgan for taking such good care of Oakley whenever we go out of town.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
