“Gage was absolutely great to work with. He took great care of our Boston Terrier Sasha. We received timely updates about Sasha every single day. This was our first time on Rover and we lucked out with Gage. Such a kind and caring person. Sasha came back happy, very playful and in a great mood. I highly recommend Gage and his pet-sitting services.”

“Aliina is amazing!! She took amazing care of our pup Zion and provided great pupdates & photos while we were on our trip. Zion was happy and cared for. Thanks again!”

“What a wonderful experience! Thank you Lorri for taking such good care of Camo and making both of us feel good and comfortable about our first time boarding! Camo felt right at home and really enjoyed his time with you and your sweet pup, Ollie. He even learned a new skill (doggie door), wow! Thanks again and we look forward to our next stay!”

“Heather was so sweet and she welcomed us over to chat before even booking! I was surprised because no one has ever offered that and it gave me even more security. I love that her yard is 100% fenced because my Nola loves to play outside. Heather sent photos and videos throughout her stay. I also received a report card and take home photo of Nola, which was soooo adorable! It’s now on our fridge. 10/10 recommend.”

“Anupama was great with Oscar and I felt confident leaving him with her. Communication was very good and we got lots of photos. She gave frequent walks and has a great environment for dogs. Oscar had a great time and would love to stay again!”

“Lea and her family were amazing with our two tiny, high-energy and anxious dogs! She was very flexible with us with and kind to the dogs (who were NOT on their best behavior and had some unusual accidents in her home). She provided the pups with a loving and happy home for a few days, which made it much easier for us to move houses without having to worry about them for a few days. Would definitely book again with Lea. She is easy to work with and a very nice person.”

“Misty took such good care of my dog while I was out of town! Frequent updates and very responsive. She obviously knows dogs well and mine came home healthy and very happy! Would definitely book again.”

“Mo did an amazing job with Willy! She was super responsive, sent regular photo and video updates, and clearly gave him tons of love. Her Cavapoo Bagel was the perfect playmate. The meet & greet before booking put us at ease, and Willy came home happy and calm. Highly recommend for small dogs!”

“Our little senior doxie, Rocky, spent 2 weeks with Barbara and we couldn’t be more happy with how it went! Barbara gave him lots of love and cuddles, and they spent some time watching Dodger baseball together. Rocky can’t wait for the next time he can spend time with Barbara 😊”

“Karlee was fantastic! She made sure our sensitive dog was comfortable and not stressed, and was very communicative before and after his stay. We greatly appreciate the effort she put into helping him, despite his challenging reactivity with other dogs. He came home so happy!”

“Lajetta is an exceptional caretaker. She is intuitive, warm, thoughtful and communicative. I would recommend her to anyone! My doggy was so well loved and cared for during his stay with Lajetta!”

“Stephanie was great. She took great care our Yellow Lab. She played Frisbee and Ball with her to give her lots of exercise. Stephanie was really nice and sent cute pictures too. I would recommend her.”

“We had an outstanding experience with Paulo. His communication was excellent from start to finish. He kept us updated with photos and messages, and it was clear that he really cared about our pet’s comfort and routine. We highly recommend Paulo to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible sitter!”

“Vanessa did a great job watching both of our pups, Roxy & Beans, when we decided to take a last minute weekend trip to the beach. She was great with update pictures and I felt comfortable leaving my kiddos in her care. If I ever needed care again, I would definitely use Vanessa again.”

“Another great stay with Sandy! The best thing Sandy provides is peace of mind. It's so nice to be able to go out of town and know that our pup is in such loving and capable hands with Sandy. We really appreciate all that she does!”

“Wonderful experience with M and A...they sent pictures with all of the activities they provided Lola with...we felt secure knowing she was them. Definitely would recommend to others.”

“Josh and Leah (and Charlotte and Max) took care of our dog Max for two weeks. They sent photos every day were easily communicative giving us updates. They took the dogs on daily long walks. Our pup came home happy and tired! We would absolutely trust them again and hope to book again with them.”

“Our Chocolate Lab Jack had a wonderful weekend with Leila! He was well cared for and loved, got in a long walk each day, and was basically allowed to make himself at home. We also got regular updates and photos! Awesome!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
