“Sydney & Brock were fantastic with our puppy Tula. Great communication with updates & photos. We needed a last minute sitter for our puppy; Sydney & Brock were very kind to host Tula.”

“2nd time booking with Chelsea. She’s was great at updating me on how my little Deebo was doing under her care. He had so much fun playing with the other dogs. Makes me so happy to know Chelsea takes pride in caring for my dog and others. She provides a very welcoming atmosphere for my pup and for others.”

About: **Only accepting small 🐶 at this time ** We are a pet loving family who understand the importance of quality care for our pets when we are away from them. We grew up with house pets & farm animals and have had pets of my own since we were kids. Friends and family can attest to our love and care of animals which we have passed on to our kiddos who also enjoy being around them just as much as we do. We work from home and have two pups, Emilio Estevez and Bruce Willis. We enjoy having pups around our home and love watching them run around in the yard. 🐶 When staying with us, your pup(s) will interact with every member of our family; as well as a pup or two from other households. They will get lots of cuddles, playtime and downtime as needed. During the day, pup(s) are free to roam around and lounge anywhere downstairs, including the furniture. They also have unrestricted access to our large fenced backyard. At night time, pup(s) will sleep downstairs with our pups in their own crate or playpen. We have plenty of toys and always happy to play fetch or take them on walks around the neighborhood.
“Jessica really helped me out when I moved to the area with my separation anxiety dog Kelly. Kelly was a bit nervous during our first visit, since she was so stressed by our recent move, Jessica was very patient with Kelly. And that evening when I went to pick her up, I could see she was almost ready to move in to her house! Running around happily. And for all the following visits, she went right into her home for daycare, without any hesitation. I think that tells me Jessica really treats Kelly well! :)”

“I used Rover for the first time this week for my 5 month year old puppy and Irene was amazing. Extremely flexible with pick up/drop off. She has a great backyard, so my pup came home nice and tired from a good day of play. She was so great that I booked again and plan to have her as my “go-to” for doggy daycare! Highly recommend!”

“Misty was great with my little girl Layla who has separation anxiety. She and her son made her feel at home and when I came, Layla was calm and relaxed. I will definitely use her again.”

About: As a dog owner and former dog fosterer, I have raised, trained, and cared for all types and ages of dogs from energetic baby puppies to older senior dogs. I also have experience working with varying temperaments and training needs. I have worked with extremely shy dogs, high-energy working breeds, and reactive dogs. I love getting to know the individual animal and their unique personality so that I can offer the best possible care. I also have experience with a variety of animals. I grew up with a number of different animals including dogs, cat, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and fish. Home full-time! I am not working at the moment (and when I do, I work from home), so I am able to devote a lot of time to providing high-quality care for your fur-kids. I am available both weekdays and weekends. All playtimes are fully supervised to ensure everyone is safe and happy. We have a large fully-fenced backyard for all your pup's crazy zoomies. We also have plenty of space to separate pups if they need a break from one another. I am home fulltime to keep an eye on everyone and attend to any specific needs. I will make sure to carefully follow the instructions for your pup. I understand that each pup has individual needs and I am happy to help keep them on their usual schedule and/or training regimen. I will care for your fur-baby as I would my own.
About: I have always loved dogs and they seem to love me too. I create a calm environment while also making sure they get the physical and mental stimulation that they need. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I take regular walks with them throughout the day and very much enjoy the company. I have a fully fenced back yard and a safe, quiet neighborhood. There are two cats that keep to themselves (will stay separated from your furry friend) and two older children who love animals.

“We have been using Vanessa as our dog sitter for almost 4 years now. Vanessa has watched both our sweet pitties Kona and Kiki from about 12 weeks old and I always have so much peace of mind knowing that they are in the best of hands. She has given our dogs nothing but love and they always have so much fun at her house! They get plenty of socialization and play time but also much needed naps when they need it (my dogs love to snooze 😴). I will keep coming to see Vanessa as long as she will have us! Thank you for everything always!”

About: As an animal lover, I'd consider myself very experienced with animals of all kinds. I grew up with dogs, cats, birds, and horses. Before losing him in the fall of 2023, I raised and cared for my dog, Chaps, for 12 years. It was a great 12 years, and I loved spending time training him. "Sit" and "down" are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the tricks Chaps could do. I am very comfortable with pets of all sizes. I am also comfortable taking care of most any special needs your pet may have. Tell me what you and your pet like, and I will do my best to provide an experience just the way you, and they, like it! Your pet will be safe and comfortable with me! I'm pretty flexible in how I organize my time. Walks, feedings, etc. can all be arranged with me to satisfy your expectations. Having had our own pets, we feel confident that satisfying your pet’s needs while they’re in my care should be seamless. Our backyard is dog-safe with a 6-foot privacy fence and access to a maintained yard with grass. Following your instructions and having the ability to communicate will provide a sense of security for you and helps me to give the best experience for your pet if I have questions about your pet’s care while you’re away. I’m a big fan of communicating!
About: I love animals and currently have one 15 lb pit terrier mix and an American short hair cat. My family is easy going on pet rules and treat animals as members of the family (no feeding from the table). We live in a pet friendly community with good lighting and many dog potty break stops and stations. Our house is 2 stories with space to put a crate in a secluded place for dogs who need quiet time. On weekends I would love to take them to dog parks (if they are comfortable with that) or on hikes (if they are people friendly). Plus I love to take and send photos! My schedule is very open. I'm happy to drop in as needed. I'm open to making adjustments with you if needed during the scheduled care. I'm happy to follow any rules you have. I will treat your fur baby like my own. I have experience with cats, dogs, fish, and snakes.
“Helen is amazing! Due to an accident, we need last minute daycare coverage. Helen was really nice to accommodate. My post-surgery Kelly was shy and sensitive, Helen was very gentle with her and followed all the instructions to take care of Kelly’s special needs. Really appreciate it!”

“Mark and Lester were great sitters for Finn. It was a last minute request and they were willing to care for Finn, share updates and make him feel at home. Thank you!! Highly recommend!”

“Brittany took excellent care of our two dogs while we attended an event Saturday and Sunday in the Portland area. They got to get their zoomies out and had lots of cuddles and Brittany sent me lots of pictures and videos from their day. I would trust her with our fur children any day!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
