“We left our two 20 pound cockapoos for 5 days. We received daily pictures and updates and really appreciated the great care they had while with Damon.”

“We recently adopted Finn and were a bit anxious about how he would do after being with us for such a short time. Kristopher was wonderful—patient and responsive from start to finish. He kept us updated with photos and info that really put us at ease. Finn clearly had a great time with Kristopher and his family!”

“Kirsten did a great job with my Callie. I am Callie's emotional support person; she gets lonely and upset when I am not around. Kirsten found ways to keep Callie happy and to get her to interact with the other dogs. When I picked up Callie she was excited to see me, and still happy and healthy--she had even eaten plenty (something I have a hard time getting her to do!).”

“Our girls enjoyed their stay with Odalis and her lovely family. Her kids were very hands on with the girls, which was great as they love attention. They came back and slept like the dead which is always a good sign. Would use again!”

“Michelle was amazing with my puppy! It was my first time using a dog sitter and it couldn’t have been better. She was very communicative and stayed in touch during my 5 days away. I’m confident my puppy was spoiled and well taken care of!”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was so happy to find someone like Alexis to care for my dog over Christmas weekend. She was easy to communicate with and friendly during the drop off. She sent me text and photo updates each day. My dog has been napping ever since I picked her up so I know she was well cared for. I will definitely book with Alexis again!”

“Hayley & Graham are so awesome! I know Millie is in great hands when I drop her off at their house. Millie loves playing with their pup and is always so exhausted at the end of the day. They are very accommodating to your schedule and very responsive. I would highly recommend them to watch your pet😊”

“Heather was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Ponyo! She’s a sensitive and a bit (read:very) quirky pup, and I was anxious to leave Ponyo solo with a sitter for the first time after losing her brother earlier this year. Heather was communicative and attuned to Ponyo’s methods of communication. She came back better and happier than we left her. Thank you, Heather!!!”

“Best experience we’ve had leaving Juniper in the care of someone else. Jami clearly cares for the dogs under her watch. She sent many updates via pictures and video. From the media we received Juniper genuinely looked comfortable and happy with her doggy friends. Don’t hesitate to book Jami!”

“Ashley provides such a warm loving home for our boy to land out while we're out of town. She has an amazing backyard my pup loves to sun himself in, and he enjoys the many extra dog beds Ashley's home supplies. Ashley is great at communicating, and we always feel lucky when we get to book her when our pup can't come along with us.”
“Our pup Cassius was right at home with Barbara and her pups for the holidays! When we picked him up it was clear how much he was loved and cared for and didn’t want to leave!”

“Laura watched my little 8 month Pomeranian girl puppy and everything went well. We had a meet and great a couple weeks ahead so she could meet my little pup and meet her two dogs as well they all got along fine and during her time there Tova, my pup had so much fun and I could tell she took real good care of her, sent me a few pics most of time I was not on WiFi. I would have her watch my little girl again.”

“Kendall was great! She seemed genuinely happy to be taking care of our doggo. Every time she sent a picture he looked like he was smiling. Will be for sure rebooking in the future! Thank you Kendall!”

“Hashi's stay with Shawna and the ladies of Hootie Pups was great, just as his stay before, even though this time was a little eventful, as Hashi managed to get away from their place (no fault of Shawna's). Immediately Shawna and friends alerted both DogVacay and ourselves. They kept us informed and went above and beyond looking for him on the surrounding streets. Within an hour, he was found. Dogvacay was also very responsive and proved themselves to be a great service in this emergency. We have no issue whatsoever with leaving Hashi with Shawna and friends again as he looked just as happy to see us upon return as he was to stay there.”
“My Cody stayed again with Suzanne, and this time boarding for 9 nights straight and I couldn’t be happier. My Cody is shy and very reserved, but he had an absolute blast! I got so many picture updates and messages, and I had total peace of mind that Cody is in great caring hands. Suzanne did so much more than I expected and truly cared for him above and beyond like Cody was one of her own pack. Thank you Suzanne, I’m sure Cody misses you and your crew already, and he will be back!”

“David was wonderful with our 5yo golden retriever. He was able to accommodate a somewhat last minute booking when our regular dog sitter was out of town. We received many photos throughout his stay, and he came back to us very happy and exhausted. We would definitely use him again!”

“Heather was amazing! We had not met heather in person until the time of drop off, she was so nice, kind, and great with our sweet Stella! I highly recommend using Heather, she was very attentive to Stella and trying to make her feel as at home as possible. She sent us photo updates every day.”

Again, Mariia was amazing! We could only take our pup with us on this trip so we had to leave our kitty with a sitter. Maria is always VERY accommodating and takes the absolute best care of our William. So long as Mariia is available, we will never look anywhere else for a sitter. Thank you Mariia for loving on our William and Helga!

I don't usually write reviews, but Angelique earned this one. Knowing Missy was not only well cared for but also genuinely loved while I was away gave me real peace of mind. She stayed on top of Missy's medication and treated her like one of her own. I'm very grateful for the excellent care and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

Christy did a great job watching my dog when I had a last minute work trip. She was super friendly and kind, allowing my dog to chew up stuffed animals that she had for her rover guests. My dog was tired and content when I picked her up, so I know she was well taken care of.

Alexis and her kiddos showed my lil doggo so much love and grace. She cared for my pup in the second week of July, when there was still fireworks going off. My dog is super anxious with loud noises, but Alexis had the confidence and experience to comfort my dog while I was away. She sent loads of updates and assured me that my dog was getting very attentive care. Would rebook in a heartbeat!

Damon is the best and I am super grateful for all of his thoughtful care of our dog while we had to leave her for an extended stay. I was a bit nervous to leave her for so long because we had just really gotten her comfortable from the shelter but there was zero need to worry because Damon is fantastic. He has a true connection with dogs and you can tell by all the smiling doggo pics that they are all very much at ease and having a great time with him! Thanks Damon!

We found a second family for our pup! Our Rottweiler is sweet but needs lots of structure and attention. Peter and his family create m the perfect space for dogs to integrate into a new environment. It’s often hard to let go and trust your pet will be happy and safe while you’re away - with this family - there is never a single worry and you can let any anxiety go while you travel.

Myriah is outstanding. We have a dog that gets anxious when we leave her and this was one of the first times our dog had been left outside our home. Myriah was amazing at helping her feel at home. She has a calm approach and her love for animals shines through. We will definitely use Myriah again and appreciate her warm loving approach.

This is our second time boarding our doodle with Stacy for a long period (7-10 days!). She sends daily updates with photos, our dog gets so much attention and he gets to have a bunch of doggy friends to play with while he is there. We have never been worried when he is with her. Will be coming back and recommend her to anyone!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
