“This was our first time using Rover. Susie and Willow were so great with our little Sukey. We recommend this service to anyone needing boarding services for their pup.”

“Jami is amazing!! It felt like my dog was on vacation as well! Long hikes, dog parks daily and giving snuggles and extra loving! She even went above and beyond when my dog had a bit of an ear issue! I will definitely be reaching out to her every time I need a sitter as I know I’ll have zero worries!”

“Zeus had a great time staying with Kirsten and her family for 3 days. This was my first time using Rover. It was great to get periodic updates and pics of my pup playing with other dogs having a good time. I was at ease and never worried. Would highly recommend Kirsten and plan on many more stays ahead with Zeus. Thanks Kirsten!!”
“She and her family are lovely! My dog was so happy and well taken care of. Will definitely use her again. She sent many photos and messages to let me know how Harper was doing. 5 stars for sure !!!!! Would recommend for sure!”

“Heather was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Ponyo! She’s a sensitive and a bit (read:very) quirky pup, and I was anxious to leave Ponyo solo with a sitter for the first time after losing her brother earlier this year. Heather was communicative and attuned to Ponyo’s methods of communication. She came back better and happier than we left her. Thank you, Heather!!!”

“Shawna and Matt proved to be excellent hosts for our dog, Hamburg. Their friendly and welcoming little companion (Maxwell) made our buddy feel right at home. We always had concerns about leaving our little buddy, but Shawna ensured we were regularly informed, and Matt made sure our furry friend received plenty of exercise. We have no reservations about boarding Hamburg with them again in the future. It's clear that he had a fantastic time. Thank you once more!”

“Amy is great! She responded right away when I contacted her and followed up with me on the morning of Coco's stay with her. She was very flexible and accommodating, which my husband and I really appreciate. We loved getting the picture updates of our spoiled princess. Thanks again, Amy!”

“We feel so lucky to have found Damon to care for our mini Australian Labradoodle, Bruno. We've had one overnight and one full day with him so far, and we’re already booked for a longer nine-night stay—without hesitation. From the start, Damon impressed us with his calm, confident presence and genuine love for dogs. He took the time to understand both our dog’s needs and our concerns—especially my anxiety about leaving Bruno, who’s still young and very much believes he’s a big dog in a smaller body. Damon was incredibly responsive, sending beautiful photo updates and clear communication throughout the stay. You can tell he really pays attention, not just to the dogs, but to the people who love them. Bruno had the best time playing frisbee, going on walks, and socializing with other dogs—including a sweet Great Dane! But Damon managed the dynamic beautifully, making sure every dog felt safe, engaged, and respected. He clearly understands dog behavior and creates a balanced environment where pups of all sizes can thrive. It also meant the world to us that Damon noticed what a special little guy Bruno is. That kind of attentiveness and appreciation speaks volumes. We fully trust Damon and feel at peace knowing Bruno is in such capable, loving hands. We honestly can’t recommend him enough.”

“We recently adopted Finn and were a bit anxious about how he would do after being with us for such a short time. Kristopher was wonderful—patient and responsive from start to finish. He kept us updated with photos and info that really put us at ease. Finn clearly had a great time with Kristopher and his family!”

“Here’s the scoop about Susan & Ian, they’re the BEST!!! This was our 3rd or 4th time using them and not only do we love them, our dogs love them too. We have ZERO concerns about our pups while we’re away knowing that they are in the best of hands. They also do an amazing job of taking pictures of our dogs, both at play and while resting so we know they’re living their best life. We will continue to use Susan & Ian again and again. They truly do an amazing job of caring for our fur babies!!!”

“Laura watched my little 8 month Pomeranian girl puppy and everything went well. We had a meet and great a couple weeks ahead so she could meet my little pup and meet her two dogs as well they all got along fine and during her time there Tova, my pup had so much fun and I could tell she took real good care of her, sent me a few pics most of time I was not on WiFi. I would have her watch my little girl again.”

“We love Mariia!! We honestly could not have dreamt of a better sitter for our fur babies! Mariia is simply the best and one of the most genuinely kind people I have ever met. She kept us updated with many photos and is obviously very experienced. We will definitely be booking with Mariia in the future. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU MARIIA!!!”

“This family took great care of our dog and hamster, I highly recommend. I received pictures throughout our time away and updates on how the animals were doing. I will contact them for our next vacation away from home.”

“This was Muff’s third—and at two weeks, by far longest—stay with Barbara. When Muff and I arrived for the drop-off, Muff was thrilled to see Barbara, which is always a good sign. The stay went very well, and Barbara sent a ton of photos. Highly recommended!”

“Angie is an amazing dog sitter! She took such great care of our 10-year-old Shih Tzu Bam Bam while we were away for almost one week. From the very beginning, she was kind, communicative, and clearly experienced with dogs - Bam Bam even gave her some snuggles, which showed how happy and relaxed he was with her! Angie sent us cute photos and regular updates about how Bam Bam was doing, and she gave him lots of love, attention, and playtime! We can't recommend Angie enough, and would love to work with her again!”

“This was Thumper’s second stay with Michelle. He was very excited when we arrived which was a true test on his connection with Michelle. When I picked him up he acted as if he would have liked to stay longer. It is great to see that he has bonded with Michelle!”

“I know my Marvel will be treated like family by Juliann, receiving lots of love, attention and stimulation. Knowing he’s being well-cared for allows me to relax when I have to be away. That peace of mind is priceless!”

This is our second time boarding our doodle with Stacy for a long period (7-10 days!). She sends daily updates with photos, our dog gets so much attention and he gets to have a bunch of doggy friends to play with while he is there. We have never been worried when he is with her. Will be coming back and recommend her to anyone!

This was our second week-long booking with Damon and I could not recommend him more. We left town knowing our pup was in great care, Damon sent us photos and videos every day to keep us updated on how she was doing. We'll continue to have our pup stay with him for future trips as well. Thank you, Damon!

Deborah took extremely great care of our pup, Shadow, for an entire week. She was quick to respond to all questions leading up to our departure and provided photo and text updates during our travels. We have already booked her again for future travel plans we have this summer. Thanks Deborah and family!
Peter took the time to get to know our rescue. Met with us at a park and at their home to evaluate the fit. She has PTSD/anxiety so he created a “safe” area for her to chill and provided daily updates while we were on vacation. Thank you for taking such good care of our pupper!

Michelle made my weekend easy and stress free. She was updating me, sending me pictures, making sure my dog’s needs were met. Also she was very accommodating with the pick up and drop off and the communication was excellent, which made me not worry at all. I would definitely recommend booking with her without a doubt.

We left Maple with Katherine for almost a week while we were visiting in the area for our daughter’s graduation. We live in Canada so had no opportunity to meet or visit beforehand so I was a little nervous. Not only did Maple love it there but Katherine made sure that Maple was tired when I picked her up (we had 15 hours of driving ahead of us) and sent photos and updates during the week. I will use her again anytime we are in the area - just wish we lived closer as it was obvious she had an amazing time!!

Maddy has taken care of our rambunctious pup for multiple overnight stays and has cared for (and managed!) our pup so well. We really appreciate the daily updates, the transparency about how things are going and what other dogs are there (if any), and the wonderful playmate our pup has enjoyed in Maddy’s dog Amina. We have experienced a number of Rover sitters over the years, and Maddy’s professionalism rises to the top. Thank you Maddy we appreciate you!

Kayla and family are such a blessing! Truly, I am not sure my Winnie even cares to come home 😂It is such a joy to drop her off to a family who loves and cares for her so well! Daily pictures and great communication on top of all that is just the cherry on top! Thank you Kayla and boys!

Tom watched our dog Winnie while we were on a 10-day vacation. Winnie is a shy and slightly skiddish pup, and Tom understood that and gave her the care she needed. He sent us regular updates and photos which was much appreciated. I recommend Tom and plan to board with him again. Thank you Tom!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
