“Bry was so caring and loving to my pets my neighbors even noticed. She is very kind, Profesional and trustworthy. She was punctual and very communicative. I will definitely hire her again. I had s great experience using Rover for the first time. I felt very reassured and relaxed about the process”

“We are truly grateful Heather took care of Jack and our home while we were away. Heather is our first rover experience and it went great from the meet and greet to the end. She would update us with pictures and you can tell our Jack loved her! Even though it was only 2 days, I know Jack would have loved to keep hanging out with her. She is so kind! 10/10!!”

“Lucinda was very attentive to the unique needs of our elderly dachshund. We appreciated her flexibility, communication, and her updates while she watched over our pups and our home. I would recommend Lucinda to anyone in need of a dog sitter or house sitter (or both).”

“We came home to a well cared for happy and healthy Zuzu. Mathew was extremely good at keeping us informed with updates complimented with pictures of our dog doing all things that they do. Our home was very clean when we returned from an overseas trip and our numerous plants were well watered. Should you need a true dog person, someone who demonstrates real affection towards your pet and has the highest professional standards then Mathew is your guy. We hold him in the highest regard.”

“The house sitting was great! I got photo updates on how Sylvester was doing each day. Felt great knowing my house and cat were taken care of so well. Would book again.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life. Now, I have a cat, and I would love to spend some time with your puppers and also take a load off your plate! I used to walk dogs through Wag, so I’m accustomed to meeting and befriending new dogs very quickly. My schedule is pretty flexible, and I’d love to hang out with your pups! All services up to two dogs. Dog walking: I’ll walk your dog(s) for 30-60 minutes. My parents’ dog is not very well socialized, so I know how to keep an anxious dog comfortable and under control. Drop-Ins: I’ll feed your dog, take them out, and play with them for a while - whatever you request! House-sitting: All of the above PLUS I’ll stay overnight, water your plants, and bring in your mail. I work in theater on a freelance basis, so I often find myself with a lot of free time. Help me fill it with some pet care! I own my own cat, so I am unable to take your pets into my own home. However, I am happy to visit or stay in your home to care for your pets.
“Ian and Susan were just fabulous. Ian spent the most time at our home and sent daily reports and lots of pictures. Finley had recently had surgery so needed close supervision. He was so well taken care of! We liked that Ian introduced him to some new places and experiences. Ian took great care of our house as well and it was nice and clean when we returned. We highly recommend them as sitters and will happily rebook them when the opportunity arises. Finley was sad to see Ian go!”

“I cannot recommend Marc enough! Leaving our pets is always stressful, but Marc took such incredible care of them that it felt like they were on vacation too. They were attentive to our pets’ specific routines and sent the best daily photo updates, which allowed me to completely relax on our trip. I will definitely be using them again!”

“Alyssa has been very patient and kind with our dog, shows her lots of love, and is very punctual and reliable. We got lots of updates during their time together and she really put our minds at ease. Thank you Alyssa!”

“Stephanie did an amazing job housesitting my dog. My dog can be antisocial and pretty fearful of strangers. Stephanie remained in close contact to update me on how my dog was doing as well as how to best approach taking care of him while I was gone. Stephanie worked through adversity and stuck with the job to get the best results possible and I am very thankful for her and how she cared for my dog.”

“Alex is incredible! My dog Bear is usually aggressive with new people, but he warmed up to Alex immediately, which speaks volumes about his calm and trustworthy energy. He followed all instructions perfectly and kept us updated the whole time. Coming home to a vacuumed house and fresh sheets on the bed was such a thoughtful, unexpected touch. We will 100% be booking Alex again and can’t recommend him enough!”

“Ellie is literally the best. She is so great with the pups and sends pupdates all day! All my bbs get so exited when they see she is back. She is clean and tidy & super respectful. I cannot recommend her enough!”

“Barbra took such good care of my two dogs, Ellie and Reuben, while I was away for a long weekend. She sent daily updates and pictures that were very reassuring that my pups were in good hands. I appreciate her efforts and highly recommend her.”

“We continue to use Malissa every time we travel. Whether it’s a weekend or 14 days. She leaves our home just as we left it and most importantly our animals are loved and well cared for.”

“It was a pleasure working with Donita. She was great about setting up a M&G and letting my dog meet her before the stay. She handled all the details of car very well. When I cam home, my pup was happy and healthy and calm, and the house was in terrific condition. I very much look forward to having her look after my dog in the future!”
“Melanie stayed with our cat Benson for two weeks. She was responsive, sent us pictures, and left our place spotless! Most importantly we came home to a happy kitty:) Would use her services again.”

About: I have had dogs growing up my whole life. When I went out on my own, I adopted a dog (see my profile). He passed after 14 years. He had many challenges: reactive, aggressive towards other dogs and people, etc. I got to have the experience of loving a dog that was hard for others to love. I also gained experience of caring for a senior animal at the end of his life. I currently am a special education middle school teacher in a school that is close to my home. This means that I do work full time. I currently do not have any animals in my home. For the dogs that need a potty break every 4 hours, I am able to accommodate that into my schedule due to my work being so close to home. I have experience with giving meds to dogs, or sticking to specific diet restrictions. In my home, dogs will be allowed on my couch and bed. My apartment community is very dog friendly with walk ways throughout the grounds, along with dog waste disposal bins. I only allow up to two dogs in my care at a time, unless it is a larger animal, then it will only be one. I am not yet ready to get a new dog after the passing of my own, but I have so much doggy love to give that I thought this could be a way to do it!

Tatiana was incredibly responsive and provided regular updates of our puppy and cat. She also was able to help administer oral meds to our fussy cat and manage our high-energy puppy while leaving our house in a cleaner state than we left it. We’d definitely rebook with her.

I cannot recommend Marc enough! Leaving our pets is always stressful, but Marc took such incredible care of them that it felt like they were on vacation too. They were attentive to our pets’ specific routines and sent the best daily photo updates, which allowed me to completely relax on our trip. I will definitely be using them again!

An absolute gem! Hayley was not only here for our BIG baby, but spoiled her w/all the love, cuddles, lap time, treats & attention in our absence that we would have, if we were home. Our Murphy Quinn was right at home with her in our home. We couldn't be happier w/the constant communication & plethora of pictures Hayley sent of our girl having a good ol' time w/her new bestie! Our little family has grown by +1, thankfully to our newest (& hopefully continued) addition of Hayley. She is now our go-to gal for ALL of our, walking, drop-in & dog stay/sitter needs. Thank you, Miss Hayley!

Laura got us out of a bind with a different sitter who cancelled a meet and greet three times. In a bind, we reached out to Laura and she quickly confirmed that she was available. We were not able to do a meet and greet but felt great with the communication back and forth throughout the stay. She left the place clean and our dog had been well snuggled.

Michelle was wonderful with our dog and cat while we were gone for 5 nights! It was so nice to get check-in messages and photos and know that our babies were getting great care while we weren’t able to be there. Our house was left spotless and we couldn’t be more appreciative!

Kathryn took wonderful care of my cat while I was away. She provided great care, and I came home to a happy, well-loved cat. As an added bonus, Kathryn cleaned and organized my place before she left, which was such a pleasant surprise after traveling! It was wonderful to return home knowing my cat had been well cared for and that everything was neat and tidy. Thank you so much, Kathryn!

I adopted my 2 rescues 8 months ago and have not left them for more than 4 hours. They are anxious, reactive, and require a lot of activity and care. Because of a business trip, I needed in home care for them. Bill stepped in and calmly did the job. He sent many pictures of them playing. My dogs were calm and happy, and were sad to see him leave. This gives me great peace of mind knowing we will have someone we trust providing our sweet pups great care.

This was our first time using Marisa. We appreciated her prompt response when we reached out. She was very personable, on time and asked good questions during our meet and greet. We have two dogs and two cats and they warmed up to her quickly. During her stay, she was very communicative and sent lots of photos, which was great. When we got home, the house was picked up and clean. She did a great job and we would definitely hire her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Tigard on Rover is $48.15 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,605 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tigard. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tigard walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tigard maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tigard choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tigard. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
