“Thank you thank you thank you for taking such good care of our kids. We couldn’t have asked for a better little mini vacation for them. They came home so happy and so so tired. We will be back for sure.”

“Mara has always gone the extra mile to take care of our pups. When our dog became ill while in her care, she took great care of him until we could return home. She has a wonderful heart and experience with dogs!”

About: I’ve been rescuing animals for over 22 years-I’ve cared for big, slobbery Rottweilers to tiny, judgmental cats, fish who pretend not to notice me, and guinea pigs that somehow eat like linebackers. I’ve handled rabbits with attitude, a special needs Yorkie who runs the house, and our Texas rescue Lucy—who I’m pretty sure thinks she rescued me. I have a designated bedroom with a ring camera just for my furry friends! We can keep the pets isolated in their own space the entire time, or they can have free roaming of the house. Options for those pets who need less sensory and more quiet and privacy. I work full-time at a hospital Monday through Friday, so my availability for more hands-on, all-day care is best on weekends. During the week, I’m still happy to offer overnight stays, I just like to mention that-because on weekdays, there may be up to an eight-hour stretch without potty breaks while I’m at work. I live in a fantastic walking neighborhood and can happily meet you in yours or bring them to mine. Can never get too much exercise in! Plus, my big fully fenced in yard is at their disposal.
“We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Kelsi! Will definitely book again next time we need a sitter. She took amazing care of my dogs and communication was great. We got fun little updates and pictures everyday. Thank you!!”

“Lisa and Manny are the best! They're the nicest people and so caring and easy to work with. Our dog has a lot of energy and is also a little nervous around new situations. It didn't take him long before he was running and playing with their Labrador. They also sent messages and videos to help us feel relaxed about how he was doing. We are so thankful for their family, and how well they cared for our dog as their own!”

“Amy is great! She responded right away when I contacted her and followed up with me on the morning of Coco's stay with her. She was very flexible and accommodating, which my husband and I really appreciate. We loved getting the picture updates of our spoiled princess. Thanks again, Amy!”

“Linda was so accommodating and friendly, I felt at ease with them right away! They were so kind to take photos of our little dog Murphy which once we got back into cell reception it was a delight to see he had his own very fun vacation! Thanks so much Linda, you’re our first contact for our next time away!”

“I want to thank Heather for taking care of Mabel Mae. She shared pictures with me, let me know Mabel was having fun. She was very patient with Mabel, she is a 9 month old basset hound, so she is very active. When I reached out with a question Heather answered right away. Thank you Heather for taking such good care of my puppy!”

“Huge thank you to Peter and family for taking amazing care of Rosie! We needed a last second sitter and they were amazing to coordinate with. The communication and pictures were great during our absence and our dog was very happy after being there. Would definitely rebook!”

“So happy to have come across Jennifer and Eric before boarding our pup. Seeing photos of him snuggling their kids and knowing he was being loved on all week gave us so much peace of mind while we were on vacation. Thank you guys so much!”

“Monty had a wonderful time a Dominique’s! I was very confident he would be happy there and was not disappointed. I loved the pictures and videos, and would trust her with my little guy any time.”

“We feel incredibly lucky to have found Janice to watch our dog, Pablo, while we traveled to visit family over the holidays. Having peace of mind while you’re away is priceless, and she truly delivered that. Our dog is very sensitive, and Janice was so attentive and thoughtful with all of his needs. It’s obvious she does this because she genuinely loves dogs. Janice went above and beyond taking him on plenty of walks and even bringing him along with her during the day while running errands. Since coming home, we can tell Pablo really misses her, which says everything about the bond she built with him. Her home is beautiful, clean, and welcoming, with a yard. She sent us daily updates and photos, letting us know what they were up to, which always made our day. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Janice again and hope she’s available the next time we need a sitter. Thank you, Janice!”

“Ava was excellent and took wonderful care of our dog. She was also very flexible with our schedule, even though our request came at such short notice. The big fenced in backyard was also a big plus. We would definitely use her again!!”

“Noemi and her family were very sweet and patient with our first time boarder. She sent updates and pictures showing our dog acclimating to their home and their own dog. Would definitely recommend her!”

I can’t recommend them enough! They took amazing care of Jetson and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. Communication was excellent throughout, with regular updates and photos, which meant so much to me. They were also incredibly flexible when my plans changed and went out of their way to accommodate Jetson, which I truly appreciated. He came home happy, well cared for, and clearly loved. I would absolutely trust them with Jetson again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate pet sitters.

Denise was amazing with Pepper during her 10 day stay. She is not the easiest doggo to care for and she was patient, accommodating, and supportive of my Pepper. When I picked her back up I could tell she had a great time, with lots of play time with her dogs, and love from Denise.

Samantha and Brian took wonderful care of my dog, Cole. They kept me updated regularly, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. It was clear Cole was having a great time—their family spent lots of time playing with him, and he especially loved hanging out with their dog, Kobe. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and I’m so grateful for the love and attention they gave him. I would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Sierra stepped up at the eleventh hour and did a wonderful job! She was open to negotiating a reasonable price, even though it was short notice with my other sitter cancelling on me. I came back from my two week trip to a Special bear that was happy and healthy. She even got her a stuffed animal! Thanks again Sierra :)

We are a returning customer of Erika’s. This time around our Ruby stayed for 2 whole weeks. Erika was great with communication and provided me regular updates. We really appreciated Erika being available for our entire trip! We will definitely be using her again in the future. Thank you again Erika!

My dog is not boarded frequently and having been a rescued dog, she has some abandonment issues! Tiffani was very patient and understanding as my dog hid out in here kennel and adjusted more to me being gone. I knew it wouldn’t be easy for my dog but knowing she was cared for lovingly and kept safe helped ME so much.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
