“Sandy seems like the ultimate dog whisperer. I'm not sure how good, bad or indifferent my dog was while in her care but I know she came back all in one bubbly piece (her usual self). THANK YOU SANDY for your patient care.”

“I am so happy to have found Nicole & Colton to board my pup for 10 days. When I picked her up, she was happy and healthy. In the past, with other pets, I have used places like PetsMart and was always bummed to find my pet was a little withdrawn after I picked them up, but I am so happy with the whole experience of taking my pup to Nicole & Colton that I plan to rebook anytime I need a sitter and sometimes just to give my pup a social outing. I really believe they provided a safe and happy place for my puppy to play and rest.”

“Perla had a great time with lots of play! Elizabeth has a nice big home with lots of room to run around both inside and out. Her dog Lilo and Perla got along really well. We'll definitely be a repeat customer.”

“Anastasia was great watching my dogs while I was out of town. She seemed to genuinely enjoy having them and was very flexible on drop off and pickup times. She would send pics of dogs to me and they always seemed happy and very well taken care of. I strongly recommend her.”

“Gary & Carol were able to watch our pup, Sterling last minute. They were both kind and Sterling seemed to enjoy his time there. He must've played hard with their adorable doodle as he napped most of the day at home after picking him up. Thank you Gary & Carol!”

“So caring and understanding with Luci's anxiety. Seems they had a ton of fun and she made a couple awesome friends. 5/5 will book Jamie again!”

“Linda was great with my dog and was very communicative. She went above and beyond to make my dog’s stay more comfortable. I would book with her again for any future dog sitting services.”

“Paul (and Arnel) took great care of Rosie and provided me daily updates of all their adventures! She was in great hands and he was an excellent communicator! Loved all the pictures and news of her daily life.”

“Chris and Angela were so amazing that I can’t even properly express how grateful I am that they were the ones caring for our Happy boy while we were away. Happy was so well cared for and spoiled with attention, snuggles, and belly scratches. They have a lovely family who loved on our pup as well and their house is a dog’s paradise! Chris sent so many pictures and videos that I stopped feeling so guilty he couldn’t come on our trip with us. Thank you again!! I would always book with Chris and Angela if I can :)”

“Marybeth and family took good care of our dog Toby for a week. I believe Toby had as good a vacation as we did! He got to play with Zoey and keep an eye on the cats. He spent time relaxing on the back deck watching the chickens. Working out the details with Marybeth was easy and she's quick to respond. She's obviously good with animals.”

“Ron was great! Very calming and seems comfortable around a variety of dogs. Our dog had a wonderful stay that included a trip to the dog park and came home tired. Thanks so much, Ron!”

“Charisse was absolutely fantastic! This was the first time I left my kitten somewhere else for sitting and she helped calm his (and my) nerves without it seeming like an inconvenience. I super appreciate her and will definitely use and recommend her!”

“Noemi and her family were a perfect fit. They were thoughtful, caring and I'm pretty sure our Ella would have moved in. Ella came back happy, healthy and I could tell she had a great time. Will book again next time. Thanks Noemi (and fam)!”

“Veronica is very sweet. She was very nice to my dog. Her 2 dogs are very friendly and seems like my dog had a great time at Veronica’s house. I will ask her again. I do strongly recommend her to all dog owners.”

“Peter was wonderful!!! He was very thoughtful and kind. My pup can be a little shy but she loved hanging out with Peter, family and pups! Thanks Peter!!!”

About: I’ve been a dog person for as long as I can remember and have cared for countless pets over the years. I previously had a Shepherd/Akita mix and currently share my home with two very loved Shih-Tzus, ages 12 and 6, so I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, personalities, energy levels and ages. I work from home, which means your dog gets plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. My home has a fully fenced backyard and a dog door for pups who enjoy having easy access to the outdoors. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone who will treat them like family. I’m attentive, dependable and happy to follow your dog’s normal routine so they feel comfortable and at home while you’re away. And, of course, belly rubs are my love language. ❤️ I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so I’m around throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, playtime, meals and plenty of attention. Your pup won’t be spending long stretches of the day alone—I genuinely enjoy having some four-legged company while I work! I have a fully fenced backyard, a dog door for easy outdoor access, and two friendly Shih Tzus who are used to sharing their home. I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal feeding, walking and sleeping routines and will make sure they have a safe, comfortable place to relax. Since I’m home throughout the day, there’s plenty of supervision, attention and, naturally, belly rubs.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
