“Nadine was great! We were coming from out of town and headed to the beach but visited family for a couple days who doesn’t like dogs in the house, so we needed to find a place for our dog for a couple days. Nadine sent pictures everyday to let us know how Milly is doing. She has an amazing backyard and her pets were very friendly with her. Milly isn’t crate trained and Nadine was more than willing to accommodate that and let her sleep in the bed. Will definitely use her again when we come to town!”

“We recently adopted Finn and were a bit anxious about how he would do after being with us for such a short time. Kristopher was wonderful—patient and responsive from start to finish. He kept us updated with photos and info that really put us at ease. Finn clearly had a great time with Kristopher and his family!”

“Liz was great with our dog while we were away and had great communication with us to put us at ease. She really took the time to assure us after we explained some of our dog's needs. She kept us updated and has lots of experience. We're very happy with her services and Pippin had a great time with her personal dogs and other boarders. Definitely recommend and rest assured she will look after your pet as well as she did ours. Thank you!”

“Nancy was absolutely amazing! This was our first time leaving our girl with anyone so we were very nervous on how it would go! Nancy was so reassuring that Paisley would do well. She sent us pictures to keep us updated on how she was doing. Paisley came home one happy girl! We are so thankful to have found Nancy and highly recommend her!! We will definitely use her in the future!”

“Kristopher and his family were terrific. I had a last minute cancellation and he was so accommodating. I was stressed but they were so reassuring and helpful. In the future he will my number 1 choice for all my dog sitting needs. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

“We had a wonderful experience boarding our puppy with Nicole and Colton! They provided tons of pictures and updates and were always quick to respond to our messages. We loved that there were other dogs for our girl to play with, she came home exhausted and happy. We wouldn’t hesitate to bring her back next time we are going out of town.”

“Marybeth and family took good care of our dog Toby for a week. I believe Toby had as good a vacation as we did! He got to play with Zoey and keep an eye on the cats. He spent time relaxing on the back deck watching the chickens. Working out the details with Marybeth was easy and she's quick to respond. She's obviously good with animals.”

I'm also no stranger to litter box issues, and am more than happy to scrub any carpet. Bring on the enzyme cleaner!

About: With over two decades of animal care experience, my journey began as a child caring for our family's English Springer Spaniels and cats, where I discovered my natural affinity for animals. This early passion made me the go-to caretaker for classroom pets throughout my school years. As an adult, I've owned several dogs, including a beloved Boxer who shared 10 wonderful years with me, and currently care for two rescue dogs - a Labrador Mix and a Pit Bull Terrier Mix. Through my extensive volunteer work at a local dog shelter since 2021, I manage the daily care and cleaning for up to 25 dogs, many with complex medical needs or behavioral challenges. My professional pet sitting experience spans over three years with private clients, and I've developed expertise in handling medium to large breeds with high energy and prey drive. I'm equally comfortable caring for shy and timid smaller breeds, reactive dogs, and senior pets requiring medication. My feline experience includes managing a Maine Coon cattery of 10-20 cats, and I've cared for cats in all life stages, from newborn kittens to pregnant mothers. Beyond cats and dogs, my animal care expertise extends to reptiles, aquarium maintenance, and farm animals including chickens, goats, and horses. I've also managed large populations of show rabbits, sometimes exceeding 100 animals. I'm comfortable administering medications to all species and have extensive experience managing special needs pets. My clients receive focused, individual attention as I do not combine pet sitting assignments. I currently work full-time Monday - Friday (7 am-3 pm). I also volunteer on Sundays (7 am-11 am). I’m open to weekday availability as long as the pet owner is aware of my work and volunteer schedule. As your dedicated pet sitter, I believe in providing comprehensive care that goes beyond the basics. During my visits, your pets will receive personalized attention through engaging playtime, appropriate exercise, and mental enrichment activities tailored to their energy levels and preferences. I follow your detailed feeding instructions carefully and maintain clean food and water dishes throughout my stay. Understanding your pet's dietary needs is essential - I'll note their treat allowance and any food or environmental allergies to ensure their safety and well-being. Getting to know your pet's unique personality, quirks, and daily routines is a priority for me. I take time to understand their comfort levels, favorite activities, and any special requirements they may have. My goal is to create a stress-free environment where your pets feel secure and content in your absence. Housekeeping is equally important - I take pride in maintaining a clean environment and will ensure your home is in pristine condition upon your return. As part of my service, I'm happy to handle additional tasks such as watering indoor and outdoor plants, collecting mail, and managing trash bins. Your peace of mind is my top priority, both for your pets and your home.

About: Veterinary assistant background, I am willing and able to do medication drop ins, feedings, and walks. I can do daytime sitting as well and my capacity for that may open up later. I have worked with disabled, and anxious cats and dogs am fairly comfortable with most personality types. I have worked with professional trainers through my prior veterinary employment and am able to assist with basic training reinforcement

About: I've been around cats my entire life and currently have a 3-year-old cat named Chopper, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member. Living with cats has taught me that every cat has their own personality. Some love attention and playtime, while others are happiest relaxing in a quiet space. I'm happy to adapt to your cat's routine and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you're away. I'll provide fresh food and water, keep litter boxes clean, spend quality time playing or cuddling (if your cat wants it!), and always make sure they're safe and happy. I'll also send regular photo updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your cat is in great hands. I treat every cat like they're my own, and I'd love the opportunity to care for yours.

About: Although I'm new to Rover I have been dog sitting for years, now that I'm retired and have too much free time on my hands I decided to bump it up a notch. I love dogs and my papillon is getting up there in age and lost her sister and this is a great way to give her company and a buddy. I am retired and home more than away. Weather permitting I spend most of my time enjoying the outdoors playing and working in my yard. I have two beautiful landscaped fully fenced acres, lots of room for your fur babies to run and play. My home is well set up for extra paws. I have one senior papillon who could use a buddy.
About: I’m a lifelong animal lover, having cats growing up and later volunteering with dogs at rescue orgs. My time as a training class assistant for Puppy Manners and New Dog Basics at the San Francisco SPCA gave me valuable skills in positive reinforcement training, socialization, and handling dogs of all temperaments. Beyond dogs and cats, I also have experience with horses, having owned and leased several. I’m comfortable with feeding, turnout, mucking stalls, brushing, and general equine care, making me a well-rounded caregiver for multi-pet households. What sets me apart is my ability to care for pets at all life stages—from energetic puppies learning the ropes to senior pets needing extra patience and comfort. Whether it’s structured walks, reinforcing good manners, or providing a calm and loving presence, I tailor my care to each pet’s unique needs. With a deep understanding of pet behavior across species and a passion for ensuring their happiness and well-being, I go beyond basic care to provide engaging, enriching, and compassionate pet companionship. After our Husky mix’s TPLO surgery in Fall 2024, I’ve decided to make pet care my main focus. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and this shift allows me to dedicate my time and energy to providing top-quality care for pets in my community. With a flexible schedule, I’m available for daily walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, and customized care based on each pet’s needs. Whether it’s a midday walk, feeding and playtime, or extra TLC for pets recovering from surgery, I tailor my services to fit both routine and special care requirements. My experience with dogs, cats, and even horses means I’m comfortable handling a variety of schedules—from structured training sessions to free-spirited outdoor adventures. No matter the time of day, I ensure pets get the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets, whether in my home or my clients’ homes. At my home, we have a fully fenced yard, providing a secure and spacious area for dogs to play and explore. Your pup will also have built-in companionship with our two friendly dogs, ensuring plenty of socialization and fun. For exercise and enrichment, we have scenic trails nearby, perfect for peaceful walks in the woods—giving dogs a chance to sniff, explore, and enjoy the great outdoors. In my clients’ homes, I respect each pet’s unique routine and environment, providing attentive, reliable, and compassionate care. Whether it’s reinforcing training, maintaining feeding schedules, or ensuring a calm presence while you're away, I treat every pet like they’re my own. No matter the setting, I focus on creating a safe, stress-free, and enriching experience for pets—so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in loving hands.

“Susie and her wonderful family are absolutely a dream come true! I'm so happy I found them. I've used daycare facilities for my little pug, Olive, in the past and she used to come home semi-traumatized by the experience. Definitely not the case with Susie. The second we pulled into her driveway, Olive had her tail wagging and couldn't wait to spend the day with Susie and family! Susie was sooo sweet and I know her daughter loved little Olive too...I can't speak highly enough of them. Seriously, if you're debating who to go with for your doggy...go with Susie. She is kind, extremely flexible, experienced and has such a warm and inviting home. Thank you so much for taking care of my little fur baby...10/10 would recommend and will 100% be taking Olive to Susie for all future daycare!?❤”

“Kris is absolutely the best sitter in Portland. He is communicative, he is honest and he is very giving towards your furbabies, he takes initiative to go above and beyond!”

About: I grew up having many animals and have had cats and dogs my entire life. I love talking care of animals as well as going on walks! I also live on a farm with many different animals! I just graduated college so my schedule if pretty clear! I do catering some weekends so weekdays I am usually more free. I am also available any time of day! I live on a farm with many types of animals including chickens. I am able to have pets at my home but they need to be able to get along with chickens and other animals.
“Laura was prompt in her initial response and so friendly, helpful and communicative in taking care of our two small dogs in her home while we were in Portland for a family wedding. We had a full day of events and were able to relax and enjoy ourselves, knowing they were in such good hands. We highly recommend Laura for pet care and would definitely contact her for future appointments. Jennifer & Matt”

“Ava is an amazing host! This was Dexter's second time with her, although a much shorter stay, Dexter came back home wiped out from all of the playing. I feel very comfortable whenever Dexter's over there playing because I know he's getting love and attention! Highly recommended.”

“This was our first time using Rover. We had an event and we connected with Melodie because of her location nearby. Melodie was very quick to respond and suggested a meet and greet prior to the day of the sitting.our little dog met her sweetie and seemed to get along right off the bat. Melody prefers small dogs, which is great for us. She has a nice set up and is very caring and we will use her again!”

“With lots of young children attending, our relatives hosting the Christmas Day gathering asked that no guests bring their pets. Rather than leave our little guy by himself for that many hours, we turned to Rover - and Julie came to our rescue! We had done a meet-and-greet previously, so I felt that Django and Aspen would spend most of their time playing and chasing each other, and by all reports that's what they did. I must thank Julie again for taking care of my pup, and on Christmas to boot! I would not hesitate to recommend Julie as a dog-sitter.”

About: I’ve been rescuing animals for over 22 years-I’ve cared for big, slobbery Rottweilers to tiny, judgmental cats, fish who pretend not to notice me, and guinea pigs that somehow eat like linebackers. I’ve handled rabbits with attitude, a special needs Yorkie who runs the house, and our Texas rescue Lucy—who I’m pretty sure thinks she rescued me. I have a designated bedroom with a ring camera just for my furry friends! We can keep the pets isolated in their own space the entire time, or they can have free roaming of the house. Options for those pets who need less sensory and more quiet and privacy. I work full-time at a hospital Monday through Friday, so my availability for more hands-on, all-day care is best on weekends. During the week, I’m still happy to offer overnight stays, I just like to mention that-because on weekdays, there may be up to an eight-hour stretch without potty breaks while I’m at work. I live in a fantastic walking neighborhood and can happily meet you in yours or bring them to mine. Can never get too much exercise in! Plus, my big fully fenced in yard is at their disposal.
“Dawne, Aaron and Charlie took care of our Cocoa so we could have a nice afternoon out. They sent a few pics to show us she was having a great time! Thanks so much!! We hope to see them again soon!”

“Maggie is the first sitter I used on Rover and I am definitely going to utilize her services again. She cares for each pet as if it were her own. My dog absolutely loved Maggie's spacious backyard.”

I also have experience handling medications, monitoring health and behavior changes, and providing patient, individualized care for every pet. I am also very active and am always looking for a running partner who would like some good exercise and fun! I’m currently a part-time student and work part-time at the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis, but I have a lot of weekend availability and flexibility throughout the week. I’m available for dog walks, pet sitting, drop-in check-ins, and general pet care, and I’m happy to work with each family’s schedule and routine! I love staying active and creating a good balance between playtime, exercise, and cuddle time. My current house doesn’t allow animals, but I have reliable transportation and would be happy to take your pet on walks, hikes, or to explore new parks if that’s something they enjoy. I’m active enough to keep up with high-energy dogs or cats, while also being patient and calm with pets who prefer a slower pace and plenty of downtime.
About: Hello! My name is Rahul (say the “h”). I have had experiences with all kind of dogs. I feel there no need for a preference. Every dog can be loved. I know how hard it is to find a good sitter for your pets and that is why I wanted to do this.I've always had dog(s) in my household growing up. I've seen them all, hyper dogs, lazy dogs, mean dogs, social dogs, and dogs that think that they're human. In my experience in dealing with all of these personalities I've noticed one trait that is essential in dog-care, patience. Patience is something that I have no shortage of, I've seen it all. I am are looking forward to helping you and your family! Can’t wait to take care of your pet! As a full-time Doctor of Physical Therapy student, I have a structured schedule that gives me flexibility throughout the week for dog walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting. Spending time with pets is a great way for me to take a break from studying, get outside, and stay active, so it's something I genuinely look forward to. I'm committed to being reliable, punctual, and communicative. Whether you need someone to walk your dog, check in on your pets during the day, or stay in your home while you're away on vacation, I'll treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would my own. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for. Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I know that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their personality, preferences, and any special instructions before caring for them. When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to keep their routine as consistent as possible—from feeding schedules and walks to playtime and cuddles. I treat every home with respect, keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as I found it. For dog walks, I prioritize safe routes, secure leashing, and positive interactions with people and other animals. I always pay close attention to your dog's body language and energy level to make sure they're comfortable and having a great time. Communication is important to me, so I'll send regular updates and photos during each visit or stay. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away with complete peace of mind, knowing your pet is being cared for with patience, kindness, and genuine attention.

About: Veterinary assistant background, I am willing and able to do medication drop ins, feedings, and walks. I can do daytime sitting as well and my capacity for that may open up later. I have worked with disabled, and anxious dogs and cats and am fairly comfortable with most personality types. I have worked with professional trainers through my prior veterinary employment and am able to assist with basic training reinforcement. I am currently in a program so I have a lot of open availability, mostly daytime hours. I am available for dog walks, and drop ins, feedings/meds. I can do pet sitting for up to 6 hours at a time. I cannot do overnights becaus either have animals of my own, and I dont currently offer boarding due to my dog having a reactive nature. I have a lot of experience with animal handling and safety protocols. Leaving a pet in the care of a stranger can be nerve wracking. I treat every pet as I would my own. I will adapt to whatever care instructions are required when caring for each pet.

Thank you!”

In the future he will my number 1 choice for all my dog sitting needs. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

Our pup got an exquisite stay with Ron and Emma including playtime with other dogs, a trip to the dog park, a warm place to sleep and lots of treats. “Christopher took excellent care of Annie, giving her lots of individual attention. (She prefers people to dogs, so Christopher's undivided interest was just right.) He took her for fun outings, threw the ball for her, and generally made her feel special. He also went above and beyond what I expected by giving her an extended brushing and a bath: her very own spa treatment. He obviously loves dogs. Thanks, Christopher!”

“Charisse was fantastic! Her love of dogs was obvious and I know she loved our fur baby like one of her own while we were away. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Charisse and I know we will be using her again!”

“Love love love it all that they provided to our Tofu❤️Absolutely recommend Linda and her family hosting your fur babies. Our Tofu spent his best two weeks at their place with lots of walks, treats, and even baths when needed. They asked many questions before hand to get to know Tofu and arranged a visit as well. It was such a relief for us during our international trip where we had no access to text messages and major social media. However, Linda still offered to contact us via WhatsApp in order to send daily updates.”

“Summer camp 2, this is the second time to use their service. Lambo was extremely happy when I drop him off, extremely tired (it’s important) when I pic him up, he loves Hannah’s place! See you soon!”
