“I don’t know how we got so lucky to find Julie and Barry. They were amazing with Josie. She’s a senior dog who has only ever stayed with family when I travel. They went above and beyond to make her comfortable. Will definitely have Josie stay with them again and I highly recommended them to anyone!”

“Paul was great to work with. I loved all the photos and updates he shared during our time away. Georgia immediately felt welcomed and was excited to be in Paul’s home.”

“Linda and Bobby were FANTASTIC! They kept me in the loop with what my pup was doing and feeling. This really felt like a home away from home for him. A part of me thinks he wished he could stay! We will absolutely be using them again in the future.”

“Great people, beautiful home and beautiful huge backyard. We couldn’t find anyone we could trust close to our home but 35 mnt drive definitely worth it. My dog loved it, Iris had fun with owners dog who is super cute. If you are looking for safe, clean place with huge backyard and very nice and responsible owners this is the one.”

“Abigail and her family were great hosts for my dog Baxter. She is very quick to respond, gives detailed updates, and sends pictures. Would recommend for sure!”
“Allison is extremely kind and friendly and she did a wonderful job taking care of our dog for a week. He can be a little anxious in new environments but from the first time we met Allison I think he picked up on her tremendously calm and welcoming personality, making him seem much less anxious while at her house. Her house felt very comfortable and she has a large fenced back yard for dogs to enjoy. We’ll definitely check Allison’s schedule should we need a dog sitter in the future and would not hesitate at all having her take care of our dog again.”

“Thank you for taking such good care of our pup, Gayle! It was so comforting to receive daily photos and updates of him playing with your dogs and going out on walks.”

“Wonderful sitters! They sent me so many sweet pics and videos of my pup and I knew I didn’t have to worry about him while in their care. 10/10 will book again”

“They were awesome! We left on vacation for a few days and we got pictures of our dogs daily, very communiative and were amazing to work with! Well definately use them again! Thank you so much we appreciate it!”

“Thank you Kyle for taking such good care of Bingo for the week! The pics and updates were great, sounds like he had a blast and had his own doggy staycation during our roadtrip. We're so glad he had other dogs to play & interact with, and daily dog park adventures.”

“We cannot recommend Kristen highly enough for her exceptional care of our pupper, Ragnar, during his overnight stay! From the moment we reached out to her, she was incredibly responsive and accommodating, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Kristen clearly has a genuine love for dogs, and it showed in the way she interacted with Ragnar. She took the time to ensuring that he felt comfortable and at home. We loved receiving updates, complete with cute photos of Ragnar happily playing and snuggling. It put our minds at ease knowing he was having a great time! When we returned, Ragnar was not only well taken care of but everything was ready for our pick up. We are so grateful to have found someone as wonderful as Kristen to watch over our baby. We will definitely be reaching out to her for future dog-sitting needs! Thank you, Kristen, for taking such great care of Ragnar!”

“I am really happy with Abby's stay with Breann. When I picked Abby up after a 3 night stay, she showed attachment to Breann and the other dog (Buck?) staying there. She was her usual calm, happy self. Breann sent me photos throughout Abby's stay, and Abby was clearly having a good time.”

“Sandra made sure our dog was happy and healthy and had all the care he needed. She has a nice house and backyard and ensured that all of the dogs got along. Our dog was content when we picked him up. Will use Sandra again if we will be out of town.”
“Dominique was awesome! She took such great care of our senior dog and sent lots of great updates. It put me at ease to know our dog was in such great care while we were far away!”

“Tsitsiki was a thoughtful and sweet carertaker for my Gizmo! I knew he was going to be left in great hands after finding out that Tsitsiki volunteers at the humane society. My pup stayed with him for two weeks over the holidays and I enjoyed all of the videos and pictures that he sent. They went on a few adventures and Gizmo looked so calm and content. He also seems to be very into enrichment because I received a few training videos that I really enjoyed. I’ll definitely be a repeat customer.”

“She did a great job with our Goldendoodle Daisy. She kept us updated with daily postings and pictures, and Daisy seemed to really enjoy her time with Becky. Would definintely use again!”

“Last minute issue came up and Peter & Missy were gracious to take my little girl for a few days over a holiday. So happy she could go someplace familiar with minimal disruption. Plus, I always know she’s in good hands with them (and Gunner)!”
“Nancy is so wonderful - a safe and loving temporary home for our very special little guy. We not only felt comfortable knowing Nancy was giving Teddy the best care, but also that they were probably both enjoying each others company while we were away. Teddy came home in one piece and was his same normal, happy self. Thank you so much for opening your home to Teddy, Nancy - we hope for more visits soon!”

“Oakley’s stay was totally above and beyond expectations! It was so nice to know that he was in good hands while I was out of town! She sent loads of pictures and videos every day, and I could tell he had a blast playing with the other dogs! I would definitely book again!”

“Jenny was wonderful with our two dogs! She took great care of them making sure they had lots of activity and love! They came home completely exhausted and very happy. Jenny was able to accommodate their needs with their specialty food and medication, and even reached out to ensure they were doing well the next day after I brought them home. I will definitely reach out to Jenny again in the future!”

Casey did a wonderful job taking care of Percy. It was his first time staying with a sitter and Casey was great at helping him adjust and was patient as Percy settled in. We received multiple daily updates and pictures and were always assured Percy was receiving the best care.

Dominique was so wonderful, sweet, and loving with our pup. She was very communicative, prompt, and sent us lots of videos and pictures. They already had toys/beds/leashes/bowls at their house so we didn’t need to pack much for our pup. It truly seemed like she cared for Ava as if she were their own. I cannot recommend them enough and we will definitely be reaching out in the future to request more pup sitting!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
