Pet care experience

1-on-1 Attention, Peace of Mind

Home away from home. Perfect for reactive dogs or dogs you don't want to kennel. No other dogs, animals, or children- just me and your puppers! Private fully fenced yard. Lots of sniff therapy. Individualized attention & presence. Centrally located on HWY 212 near Sunnyside (Kaiser and Clackamas Town Center.) Your peace of mind is my highest priority! You'll be updated with photos so you can be assured that your pet is being pampered. I have raised and lived with many dogs and cats throughout my life. I have studied dog training and read books but mostly I love to just hang out with them. Being surrounded by dogs and cats is heaven to me. Whether it's training puppies, relaxing with a senior dog, or burning energy on walks- I love dog personalities and know how much value they add to their human's lives! I work as a healer and health consultant for humans and animals so animal communication is fascinating and important to me. I try to make every experience worthy of the joy and love our animals bring.

Carolyn has amazing reviews for a reason! She genuinely loves animals, and it shows in how she cares for your dogs as if they were her own. She's also very knowledgeable about canine behavior and how to best interact with your dogs according to their individual needs. Carolyn sent frequent updates and photos, giving me total peace of mind that my pups were in trustworthy, capable hands. Our two dogs very much enjoyed their stay and came home a lot calmer than they have with sitters in the past. I will be booking with her again!

Story always is a happy dog staying with Carolyn, and we’re happy to get regular updates and pics of our pup while we’re away.

We left our dogs with Carolyn for 10 days, and Carolyn did a great job looking after them. Our younger dog is very anxious, so we were a little worried. However, Carolyn quickly bonded with Loki and sent pictures and stories that reassured us. We would love to use Carolyn again in the future!

Schedule

I work on the computer/phone from home part time so having animals in my home or pet sitting at your home is no problem. Dogs usually hang with me while I work in my home office and kitties are free to roam the house. I let dogs out frequently for pee and sniff breaks to get outside. I'm also happy to come to your pets for drop ins and connection!

Safety, trust & environment

My house is small so I only have 1 household of pets at a time (multiple pets from the same household is fine). Because of this your pets get very individualized attention! I have a fenced yard with dog run on the side and let dogs out frequently depending on weather, scheduling and individual factors. I also have a crate sized for a dog up to 50 lbs. I love spending time training and bonding with puppies and high energy dogs. Senior dogs and special needs, medication schedules are welcome. Please let me know if your dog has a lot of anxiety or destructiveness as these special needs cases may require more planning and you must be willing to agree to cover all expenses incurred from damage. My situation is great for people who want to ensure their pets are getting lots of individualized attention, affection, spoiling and pampering. And for pups who are used to being the only child, anxious dogs, senior dogs, reactive dogs and pairs of dogs who are used to having the run of the house as a pack. I serve complimentary meat-based enrichment treats that keep dogs occupied, engaged, and tire them out. I encourage you to bring bones, chew toys, or whatever fun things will enhance your pet's stay.

A typical day

We rise early for morning snuggles and potty break before breakfast. I often read on the couch with dogs in my lap or next to me. If it's nice out we spend time in the yard watering the garden and exploring all there is to sniff in the yard. Then we settle into work and most dogs sleep nearby in the living room or right at my feet under the table where I work. The fluffy pups love the cool linoleum flooring and the shorthairs love the doggie bed. Burrowers love the crate with all it's blankets. Throughout the day we take breaks outside for fresh air, playtime, and potty breaks. Lots of baby talk, doggie talk, discussions about who is the goodest boi and sweetest girl. Most dogs love to sleep on the porch and have a lookout perch to observe the mostly quiet cul-de-sac. Big barkers can't be out there too long but the quiet guys can spend all day there. If I need to run an errand I close up the bedroom doors and leave the dog with a freeze bone or regular bone if permitted. Some dogs like to be crated but otherwise they just hangout in the living room while I'm gone. Most dogs take a nap. I'm never gone for more than 4 hours at a time. In the evening we eat dinner then snuggle up for a movie in bed. The perfect day <3
