Amir is my new go-to dog helper! He is highly communicative, asks a lot of questions, is eager to do right by my three beasts, and always open to feedback. My dogs all seem to really like him (and two of them are pretty selective with the people they trust). Amir does a great job! And best of all, he really likes my dogs, and so I know he treats then as well as his own dog!

About: I’m a serious plant guy and have over 130 of my own house plants. I also set up drip irrigation in my yard. I love cats and would be happy to stop in to check on them, clean their litter boxes and give them water. I am an early riser so taking care of animals in the morning and evening works great for me. I am available all days of the week unless I am out of town. I would be happy to water or feed your plants as well as ensure humidifiers are full. I am happy to let your cats in or out, feed them, provide fresh water and clean litter boxes. I would love the opportunity to play with your cat and ensure they have somewhere to scratch.

About: I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs. I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting. I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.

About: I've had the privilege of caring for dogs for over a decade. I have experience administering medication, walking, cleaning and playing with puppies and middle age dogs. I am a full time artist with quite an open and flexible schedule. I am available during the day during the week and flexible during weekends. I love playing and spending time with my own cat, catering to her needs and spending time together. I have no issue crating other's dogs if asked.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my deep commitment to treating every pet like family and my well-rounded experience with dogs at every life stage and temperament. I have hands-on experience training puppies, helping them build positive habits through structure, patience, and consistency. I’ve also worked with dogs who’ve shown previous aggression or reactivity and know how to create a calm, controlled environment that supports behavior management and trust-building. In addition, I’ve cared for senior dogs post-surgery, including those needing extra support with mobility, comfort, and detailed medication schedules. I’m confident managing complex care routines and always prioritize the pet’s well-being, safety, and emotional needs. Whether your dog is energetic, anxious, aging, or needs a little extra help, I adapt my care to meet them where they are. I’m reliable, communicative, and genuinely love building a bond with every pet I care for. You can trust that your dog will be in thoughtful, experienced, and loving hands while you’re away. With a background in pharmacy and medication management, I bring a high level of attention, care, and reliability to every cat or dog I look after. I have a senior black lab of my own, so I truly understand the importance of routine, patience, and gentle companionship—especially for aging pets or those with special medical needs. My schedule is mostly available evenings and weekends. Whether your pet needs quiet companionship, playtime, walks, or help with medications, I tailor my approach to their unique personality and needs. I’m experienced with a wide range of pet temperaments, from affectionate lap cats to active dogs or more independent animals, and I always prioritize their comfort and well-being. With me, your cat or dog will be in calm, capable hands—and you’ll get regular updates so you can relax knowing they’re safe, loved, and cared for just like family For drop-in visits and walks, I focus on making each visit calm, positive, and tailored to your pet’s needs. During drop-ins, I follow your care instructions closely—whether that includes feeding, fresh water, medications, litter box scooping, or just giving your pet some love and attention. I take time to make sure your cat or dog feels safe, seen, and cared for before I leave. For walks, I make sure your dog gets exercise and mental stimulation while staying safe and comfortable. I’m happy to adjust the pace and route based on their energy level, age, or mobility. I always prioritize leash safety, weather-appropriate care, and positive interactions. As a remote nursing student with a flexible schedule and a background in pharmacy and medication management, I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and communicative. You’ll get regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands!

About: I grew up in a home that was always filled with the joy of pets. My experience ranges from caring for small breeds to rescuing and rehabilitating large stray dogs, ensuring they received the medical attention they needed to thrive. At one point, my family home was a sanctuary for 21 dogs! Growing up alongside them taught me everything about dedicated care—from playful energy to the specialized needs of senior pets. I am experienced in administering medication and providing the extra patience and comfort that older dogs require. In fact, the oldest dog I raised lived to be 21 years old, passing away peacefully after a long, happy life. I also have 5 cats back in my hometown, so I’m very comfortable with feline personalities too! Currently, as I am away from my family pets, I find myself deeply missing that connection. You can rest assured that your furry family members will be my number one priority, receiving the same level of attentive, personalized care that I have practiced my entire life. As a remote creative professional, I have a highly flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of quality time to your pets. I am available throughout the day for walks, feedings, and companionship. This flexibility means I can easily adapt to your pet's existing routine, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and never lonely while you are away. Safety and trust are my top priorities. When caring for pets in your home, I strictly follow your instructions regarding feeding, medication, and house rules. I am very attentive to changes in behavior and ensure all doors and gates are secure at all times. I believe in clear communication, so I’ll provide regular photo updates to give you peace of mind, knowing your fur baby is safe, loved, and in good hands.

About: I have cared for energetic puppies to old man dogs, kittens to old lady cats, rabbits, I have rescued lots of pets that needed special care, I've taken care of aquariums. Whatever care your pets need, chances are I've done something similar at least. I am a student with class on Wednesdays, and I I am available the rest of the week. I have a child, so I'm not available to spend nights away from home. I've had a lot of pets and I understand that every pet is different. I have a lot of time to really spend caring for your pet in the ways you request, whether it's lots of walks to the park, sitting at home getting pets and attention, administering medications. I'm very flexible and understanding to whatever your furry friends needs are.

About: My name is Adrian and I am a PSU student making money to move out this summer, I love all dogs big and small and I have owned many throughout my life. I am a music lover at heart when I am not working towards my anthropology major. I hope to one day teach history and culture related classes to all ages of students. My family dog Olav is a large great pyranees mix, and I love him with all my heart. We go on walks, hikes, runs and swims together all the time and all over Oregon. I currently have 2 beautiful cats with my wife, Bowie, and Ziggy. I’m a student with a lot of free time and in need of work so I am trying to get as many walks and check ins in as possible. I am great at walking dogs and very respectful of others homes and spaces of others animals. I am attentive and caring towards all animals.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Happy Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Happy Valley with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Happy Valley. On Rover:

  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
