I can't recommend Priscila enough! She was an incredible help, and even though I reached out without much notice for the time I'd be out of town she was able to accommodate the request to make check-in visits on my cat. She was quick to respond whenever I had a question, and even sent photo updates of my cat from her visits :) I'm very grateful for her help, and will definitely be reaching out to her the next time I need a sitter!!

I couldn’t imagine anybody else to be with Zeus while we are away! Emily stayed in contact with detailed check-ins, and was light hearted and warm the whole time. It made us feel at ease leaving our Zeus behind. Thank you so much Emily!!!!

About: Having lived with dogs my whole life, I'm happy to help with years of experience in dog care. As a very active student with a flexible schedule, I have time and energy to help with dog walks! I also have a lot of patience and energy to help with dogs who require extra attention and care. As an experienced house-sitter, I'm an organized and responsible helper with dog care which requires special attention to detail. Love to help out on weekends and weekday mornings or evenings around my schedule as a graduate student. I will be able to help more during my vacations, so I’ll be sure to share when I’m off school I like to make sure the pets are comfortable with me and treat them and the owners property with respect I would hope for myself. I like to make sure I leave a pet and home happier, calmer, and safely when I provide my services

Melinda has a gift. Our dog is very shy and he took to her right away. She sent us a pic of her playing with our kitten. Melinda is a warm, gentle person and we felt very confident leaving our pets in her care. We will be having her sit for us frequently in the future.

ChristyLynn was able to accommodate a last minute drop in request. She was great with the dogs, they sense right away if someone is a dog person and she definitely is. She asked if it was ok for her girls to come for an evening visit and the dogs loved that. Great communication and appreciated the pics. Will definitely use her again.

About: I grew up in rural midwest with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs since I was 9. I was a dedicated and loving dog mama to my beloved bernese mountain dog, Riker, for 9.5 years and I miss him very much. I enjoyed taking my boy to thousand acres, Mt. Tabor, and several other dog parks and we've gone on many hikes on the coast, in the gorge, and in Mt. Hood forest. I have special connections with my friends' animals and I've enjoyed taking their dogs for walks since my boy passed last March. I'm a fourth-year doctoral graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) meaning my schedule can be pretty flexible. I have two full days of clinic per week and fill the rest of the week with writing and research. When I'm not in clinic I can work with my schedule to take your fur baby on walks, check in on them to let them out, or schedule an adventure! I can also come house sit or invite your pet over for the day or extended stay. I have a fenced in backyard with ample space for throwing the ball or lounging in the sun on a picnic blanket. We also live very close to a park for on leash walks or park hangs. Our fur baby passed in March 2026 but our one-level house is still set up to be accessible with rugs on the wood flooring for traction, plenty of blankets and comfy spots to sleep, and easy access to the back yard (just two steps). We allow animals on furniture but respect your rules if that's a boundary of yours!

About: I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I’ve had family dogs growing up and had a dog of my own in my early twenties, so caring for them has always been a part of my life. Around 2020, friends and coworkers started asking me to house sit while they traveled, and that’s when I realized how much I genuinely enjoy caring for other people’s homes and especially thier pets. Since then, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities... from tiny Chihuahuas and miniature Poodles to Huskies, Pit Bulls, and Dobermans. I’ve also spent some time with cats, hamsters, bunnies, and lizards. Unfortunately I have retired for caring for cats due to allergies. I know that every dog is different. Some want to play nonstop, some love long walks, and others just want someone cuddles. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I’ve even helped reinforce basic training, taught a few fun tricks, and worked on some very simple behavioral habits when owners have appreciated. I believe consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement go a long way. When your dog is with me, they’ll be treated like my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your best friend is getting plenty of attention, exercise, affection, care until you’re back home. I’m currently a surgical technology student, and my classes are scheduled in the mornings, which means I’m available most afternoons and evenings for walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and quality time with your pets. Trusting someone with your animal is a huge deal. I am big on personal integrity and respect. I know every pet is different, so I like to stick as closely as possible to the routine they’re already used to. Whether that means long walks, playtime in the yard, keeping up with feeding schedules, or just hanging out on the couch together, I’m happy to do whatever helps them feel comfortable while you’re away. Safety is always my biggest priority. I’m especially careful on walks, pay attention to each dog’s personality and body language. This means, my phone is away… unless I sneak a really cute picture of your pup. I also know how important it is to trust the person staying in your home, so I’ll treat your space with respect and leave it just the way I found it. I’ll also send plenty of updates and photos because I know I’d want the same if someone was watching my dog. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away worry free.

About: I grew up in a home that was always filled with the joy of pets. My experience ranges from caring for small breeds to rescuing and rehabilitating large stray dogs, ensuring they received the medical attention they needed to thrive. At one point, my family home was a sanctuary for 21 dogs! Growing up alongside them taught me everything about dedicated care—from playful energy to the specialized needs of senior pets. I am experienced in administering medication and providing the extra patience and comfort that older dogs require. In fact, the oldest dog I raised lived to be 21 years old, passing away peacefully after a long, happy life. I also have 5 cats back in my hometown, so I’m very comfortable with feline personalities too! Currently, as I am away from my family pets, I find myself deeply missing that connection. You can rest assured that your furry family members will be my number one priority, receiving the same level of attentive, personalized care that I have practiced my entire life. As a remote creative professional, I have a highly flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of quality time to your pets. I am available throughout the day for walks, feedings, and companionship. This flexibility means I can easily adapt to your pet's existing routine, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and never lonely while you are away. Safety and trust are my top priorities. When caring for pets in your home, I strictly follow your instructions regarding feeding, medication, and house rules. I am very attentive to changes in behavior and ensure all doors and gates are secure at all times. I believe in clear communication, so I’ll provide regular photo updates to give you peace of mind, knowing your fur baby is safe, loved, and in good hands.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for over 10 years, including my own pets as well as pets for friends and family. As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your furry family member. Every pet has their own unique personality, and I always take the time to help them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a calm companion, I’ll provide personalized care based on their needs and routine. I provide feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, potty breaks, litter box cleaning, and regular photo updates, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is in caring and reliable hands. My goal is to make your pet feel happy, secure, and at home while you’re away. I currently work full-time, but pet care is something I truly enjoy and make time for. I’m available before and after work on weekdays, as well as weekends. I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability and make sure your pet receives reliable, attentive care and plenty of love during every visit. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I understand that every pet is different, so I’ll always take the time to learn their personality, habits, and any special instructions before each visit. I’m respectful of my clients’ homes and will keep everything clean, secure, and just as I found it. I’ll also send regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I've been around pets since as long as I've remebered and have always loved caring for animals. I have experience with both cats and dogs and am comfortable with pets of different sizes, ages, and personalities. I'm reliable, attentive, and enjoy making sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, or companionship, I'll treat your pets like they're my own. Pet care fits well into my daily and weekly routine. I currently work as an educational assistant, so I have a structured schedule during the school year. I am available for pet care outside of school hours, as well as on weekends. I also have extended availability during summer, winter, and spring breaks, which allows me to take on more frequent or longer bookings during those times. I enjoy spending my free time caring for animals and making sure they are comfortable and well looked after. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always prioritize safety, trust, and maintaining the pet’s normal routine. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medication (if needed), walking routines, and any specific care preferences. I make sure doors and gates are secure at all times and keep a close eye on pets to ensure they stay safe and comfortable. I also try to create a calm and stress free environment by giving pets attention, companionship, and space depending on their personality. I treat every home with respect and keep everything clean and as I found it. My goal is to make pets feel secure and cared for while giving owners peace of mind while they’re away.

About: Animals have always been a major component of my life. They tend to be drawn to me and trust in my patient compassionate nature. I have helped many friends and family with grooming their pets. I enjoy training puppies basic manners and have even taught my cat a few tricks. I love being outdoors and engaging with those around me. Dogs appreciate my high energy and positive reinforcement. My schedule is pretty limited at this time. Every day but Tuesday I am either working or attending classes 11am-730pm. Depending on distance of travel it is possible to provide walks beforehand, after, or on a Tuesday. Let's connect and see how I can best assist caring for your fur baby (: I am available for drop-ins, walks, and overnight stays. Our activities are structured around a schedule that they'd typically experience to keep stress at bay. Lots of walks, treats, snuggles and play time! Respecting pet parents requests is my top priority. Let me know your needs and we will find something that works (:

About: With over two decades of animal care experience, my journey began as a child caring for our family's English Springer Spaniels and cats, where I discovered my natural affinity for animals. This early passion made me the go-to caretaker for classroom pets throughout my school years. As an adult, I've owned several dogs, including a beloved Boxer who shared 10 wonderful years with me, and currently care for two rescue dogs - a Labrador Mix and a Pit Bull Terrier Mix. Through my extensive volunteer work at a local dog shelter since 2021, I manage the daily care and cleaning for up to 25 dogs, many with complex medical needs or behavioral challenges. My professional pet sitting experience spans over three years with private clients, and I've developed expertise in handling medium to large breeds with high energy and prey drive. I'm equally comfortable caring for shy and timid smaller breeds, reactive dogs, and senior pets requiring medication. My feline experience includes managing a Maine Coon cattery of 10-20 cats, and I've cared for cats in all life stages, from newborn kittens to pregnant mothers. Beyond cats and dogs, my animal care expertise extends to reptiles, aquarium maintenance, and farm animals including chickens, goats, and horses. I've also managed large populations of show rabbits, sometimes exceeding 100 animals. I'm comfortable administering medications to all species and have extensive experience managing special needs pets. My clients receive focused, individual attention as I do not combine pet sitting assignments. I currently work full-time Monday - Friday (7 am-3 pm). I also volunteer on Sundays (7 am-11 am). I’m open to weekday availability as long as the pet owner is aware of my work and volunteer schedule. As your dedicated pet sitter, I believe in providing comprehensive care that goes beyond the basics. During my visits, your pets will receive personalized attention through engaging playtime, appropriate exercise, and mental enrichment activities tailored to their energy levels and preferences. I follow your detailed feeding instructions carefully and maintain clean food and water dishes throughout my stay. Understanding your pet's dietary needs is essential - I'll note their treat allowance and any food or environmental allergies to ensure their safety and well-being. Getting to know your pet's unique personality, quirks, and daily routines is a priority for me. I take time to understand their comfort levels, favorite activities, and any special requirements they may have. My goal is to create a stress-free environment where your pets feel secure and content in your absence. Housekeeping is equally important - I take pride in maintaining a clean environment and will ensure your home is in pristine condition upon your return. As part of my service, I'm happy to handle additional tasks such as watering indoor and outdoor plants, collecting mail, and managing trash bins. Your peace of mind is my top priority, both for your pets and your home.

I almost don't want to tell everyone how great she is because I want her all to myself when we need a sitter! Anneliese is a wonderful person first and foremost - not only did our 3 dogs LOVE her, but she is also so polite and considerate. She was happy to get down at their level and play with them on the floor the way they love most. She even offered to vacuum the house if she noticed fur accumulation, but I told her that was not necessary. This will be our new go-to sitter. Love her!!

For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Damascus choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Damascus with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Damascus. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
