About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. I know there are a lot of people on this site, who fluff their profiles and just do this for extra money. But, my life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. I run my own business, Hounds of Love PDX, and bring a lifetime of experience in all areas including rescue, handling, walking, daycare, sitting, fostering, transporting and volunteering with local rescue organizations, as well as for Oregon Dog Rescue and Dove Lewis. I'm a small dog and senior advocate, and work with dogs of all sizes. I’ve always had an affinity for sighthounds(Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, etc), and understand their unique and sensitive nature well. I always put dogs first in every aspect of life, and feel they’re all part of my extended pack, and treat every dog as such. Safety is absolutely the top priority for me when working with pets. I’m always watching, listening and paying attention to their body language. I have a deep understanding of dog psychology and know that each dog has a unique personality and needs, and that not all dogs are extroverts. In fact, many are quite the opposite. I’m naturally hyper-vigilant, yet focus on remaining calm and assertive when working with dogs, especially when out in the world. I’ve completed a variety of trainings with dogs over my lifetime, from canine good citizen, to flyball, to advanced therapy dog training. I’m Pet CPR + First Aid certified, as well as bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates. I always carry a well-stocked pet first aid kit in my vehicle, as well as water, bowls, treats, blankets and travel crates so as to always be as prepared. I’m professional, reliable, punctual, responsible, trustworthy and pride myself on practicing clear and transparent communication. I'm located in the east Portland area, also near Happy Valley and Gresham, and I service most all surrounding areas. In addition to working with dogs, I'm also a part-time jewelry artist and I work out of my home studio. I make my own schedule and usually, always available. I can schedule around most everything. At my home, I have three small rescue dogs that are a bonded pack. We utilize pet gates and dog run fencing in our fenced backyard. Open to small dogs for boarding and daycare.
About: I’m a current foster home for the Troutdale shelter. I’ve taken legal cases and regular foster cases until they are adopted. I love all animals and just want to help those in need. I currently work from home so I’m able to care for your pet all day. I’m able to play, love on them and walk them. I don’t have a fenced yard but I’m able to walk your furry friend or crate them. However you want them to be taken care of.

About: Growing up, my family always had dogs, so I’m pretty comfortable around them and looking after them, too. I officially became a dog mom in 2019 after graduating from college when I adopted an elderly Chihuahua named Lucy. She passed away two years ago, but caring for her gave me experience with senior dogs and administering daily arthritis medication. I now have my girl Peaches. She will be turning 3 in August and is puggle who keeps me on a consistent walking schedule! Through caring for my own dogs and pet sitting for friends and family, I’ve gained experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs. I also regularly watch my brother’s 2-year-old Staffie mix who is the biggest baby and I love like my own fur baby. I love going on walks, hikes, and visiting farmers markets/local parks/coffe shops, so your pup will get plenty of love, attention, and activity while in my care. I also like to call myself a “master pill hider” because Peaches has definitely made me work for my skills when it comes to giving daily medications 😂 I look forward to meeting your fur baby and possibly you, too! I promise to send consistent photos and videos while they’re in my care, and I’ll always communicate if I notice anything concerning about their behavior. I’d rather ask questions than assume something is normal. Im currently a full-time graduate school and do have in-person classes on campus downtown, so if I’m house sitting your furbaby would have to be ok being alone while I’m away. For walks, I will always keep your dog leashed and be mindful of outside temperatures while we're out. For drop-ins, I’ll make sure they have plenty of fresh water, receive any requested meals or medications, and have supervised outdoor time. If I need to administer medication, I’ll make note of when it was given and observe them afterward to ensure they’re doing well before I leave. Their safety, comfort, and wellbeing are always my top priorities.
“Second time asking her to come and look after our 3 cats!! They like her & we don't have to worry about them when we go out of town. Thanks again for caring for them 😊”

“Lynden and Timothy did a great job taking care of my 2 bullies for the weekend. They also do drop in visits one day a week for me. They always take great care and send great photos as well.”

About: I have foster many dogs as well as had pets my entire life and volunteered at humane societies. I am also studying Animal Science on the pre-vet track in college so it is safe to say I love animals! I have pets of my own so taking care of animals is not a new thing for me. I also regularly volunteer at humane societies. I am used to dealing with all different personalities and sizes of animals with my experience with volunteering and fostering. I have also had my fair share of pets.
“Isabella was great! Our dogs are special needs and she took the time to practice and prepare before her actual booking. She's an animal lover through and through. Would highly recommend!”
About: I have experience working with dogs of all sizes and breeds from when I worked at a doggy daycare that prioritized training. I am skilled in walking big leash pullers to dogs that bark at everything! I took several courses/practices in identifying dog body language in order to keep dogs and myself safe/comfortable. I currently work part time/go to school part time however I have plenty of time to care for your pet! Just let me know and we can find a time that works! I live by several parks that are perfect for dog walking, your pet can enjoy a nice scenic change anytime they need to use the bathroom! I currently do not have any dogs in my home so there won’t be any hassle if your dog is more solitary.

“Heather was the perfect dog sitter. She is fast to respond, and very receptive to any instructions or requests. Her communication was on point, and she reliably took great care of our little guy while we were traveling for over a week. We will definitely be re-booking with her next time 💕”

“Sarah did a fantastic job taking care of our cat! It was amazing to hear and see pictures of how interactive and unafraid our very shy cat who normally hides from visitors. Thank you Sarah!!❤️❤️❤️”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters: We treat every guest dog like part of the family. Rather than just providing supervision, we integrate your dog into our daily routine and pack structure. This means your dog enjoys social time, structured play, and a calm, balanced environment—not just a place to stay. We understand canine body language and pack dynamics, which helps us introduce new dogs smoothly and safely. Whether your pup is full of energy or more reserved, we match their pace and make sure they feel at home. We also have experience with: -Senior dog care, including medication and mobility needs -Dogs with anxiety or who need extra reassurance -Multi-dog households and managing different temperaments We keep you updated with photos and notes, and always aim to return your dog even happier than when they arrived! I do typically work at 10am, so any hand offs after that time do need to be quick but can work. Anything before 10am I do have a bit of time to socialize and give same day tours. Since I work from home with a very flexible schedule, pet care fits seamlessly into my day. This allows me to provide regular potty breaks, scheduled meals, walks, and plenty of cuddle time or one-on-one attention whenever your dog needs it. Your dog will never be left waiting—whether it’s playtime with the pack, quiet rest, or extra snuggles. I’m able to quickly adjust to their needs throughout the day and keep a calm, consistent environment that makes them feel safe and loved. Being home most of the time means your pup will always have companionship and supervision, with frequent updates sent to keep you connected to their day. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and sense of belonging are our top priorities. We have a securely fenced yard where all dogs are always supervised during potty breaks and outdoor play. Inside, guest dogs don’t just stay downstairs—they’re fully integrated into our family routine and spend time alongside our boys in all common areas. Crates remain available and are used only if it suits each dog’s comfort and routine. We maintain a spotless environment—blankets, crates, toys, and dog beds are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between visits to ensure every pet has a fresh, safe space. Whether it’s playtime in the living room, cuddles on the couch, or lounge breaks in the quiet corners, your dog will feel like part of the pack in a calm, loving home.
“Michelle was friendly, punctual, helpful, and obviously a huge friend to dogs. She was a last-minute godsend when I belatedly realized that I needed to be away for extended periods. Thanks for coming to our rescue, Michelle.”

Penny was amazing taking care of my babies while I was away for a week. She did drop-in visits and was always on time, reliable, and made sure they were well taken care of. She checked that they had eaten, had fresh water, and spent time playing with them and giving them attention. I had five puppies and two adult dogs, so it was definitely a lot to handle, but Penny did such a great job with all of them. She was patient, caring, and made sure each one got the attention they needed. She also sent me several pictures every day, which made me so happy and gave me peace of mind knowing they were doing well. It’s never easy leaving your pets behind, but Penny made my 1st Rover experience so much easier. I truly appreciate all the love and care she showed my babies and would definitely recommend her! ❤️🐾

Lilieana was so kind and gracious in the booking process. She also lives nearby so made everything pretty easy. The pups looked pleased on the pictures and are happy that we are home . Frankie sniffed around for a little while wondering if she was going to come back. Definitely a great sitter pick.

Reagan is a true gem! Very communicative, responsive and willing to go out of her way to make sure our animals are well taken care of. We have a dog sit with her next month for a week and couldn’t feel more at ease with it. We’re so glad we found her and highly recommend if you’re looking for a caring pet sitter!

Michelle was absolutely amazing and a life saver! We had to leave town last minute to attend a family funeral and she was able to help our sweet boy Mr. Paul in a pinch! Michelle was also great about pivoting our request when funeral plans changed last minute. Can’t recommend her enough, she kept our boy happy and taken care of while we were gone!
Jaxson was amazing with my dog Aspen! He took her on long walks, played with her, and always made sure she was comfortable. He was super reliable, left the house clean, sent lots of photo updates, and even wrote detailed notes after each visit. His rates are great too. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Nathan was my first sitter on Rover and has set the bar high with his exceptional care for my two high energy dogs. He is flexible, caring, and accommodating to their unique needs. He is able to match their individual energy levels and play styles and tailor visits to their preferences. Nathan is communicative and overall a joy to work with.
