“Roxanne did a wonderful job with our very shy and scared Dolly. She did everything we asked, was prompt, very kind and communicative. We will look to hire her again in the future.”

“Anika came by for the meet and greet and was exactly on time! She is very friendly and personable. She took care of our two cats while we were gone (although she didn't see much of Zipper because he's shy). She sent pictures each day of playing with Pixie. I would recommend her to anyone.”

“Absolutely wonderful! Dependably, trustworthy, loves pets, and they definitely love her back! We are thrilled to have found her. She's been helping us with our pup for near a full month with multiple trips a day. Anytime we need help she's going to be the first person we reach out to.”

“I’ve never felt safe leaving my babies with anyone, but you have taken such great care of them and truly eased my mind while I was away! You followed all my lengthy notes about their care, and in the photos they looked SO happy 🥹! I appreciate you so so so much, and I will definitely choose you again whenever we go out of town again!!!”

“Emily was such a great sitter for our cats while we were away for the holiday. She sent lots of funny updates and pictures and I could tell they’d gotten lots of attention and love when we got home.”
About: Animals have been a part of my life from the day I was born. I grew up on a farm and have spent my entire life caring for animals of all kinds. My passion for animals isn't just a hobby—it's been the focus of my personal and professional life. I have over 8 years of dog training experience and am comfortable working hands-on with dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and behavior types. Whether you have a playful puppy, an energetic adolescent, a senior dog needing extra patience, or a dog with unique behavioral needs, I strive to provide individualized care that helps them feel safe, comfortable, and understood. I also absolutely love cats and enjoy building trust with each cat at their own pace. From social butterflies to shy kitties, I make sure every feline receives the attention and care they deserve. My experience extends far beyond dogs and cats. I have cared for rabbits, rats, hamsters, and other small animals, as well as reptiles, fish, and exotic pets. Thanks to my farm upbringing, I also have extensive experience with horses, livestock, and other farm animals. Because of my diverse background, I'm comfortable caring for multi-pet households and pets with specialized care routines. I understand that every animal is unique, and I treat each one as if they were my own—with patience, respect, and genuine love. When you book with me, you're choosing someone with a lifetime of animal experience, professional handling skills, and a deep commitment to providing the highest quality care for animals of all kinds. 🐾❤️ Pet care is part of my daily life. I have years of hands-on animal care experience and build my schedule around providing reliable feeding, exercise, enrichment, training, and companionship. 🐾 I provide personalized care based on each pet's needs, including feeding, walks, playtime, enrichment, medication administration, training reinforcement, and plenty of affection. I follow your pet's normal routine as closely as possible to keep them comfortable, happy, and stress-free while you're away. 🐾❤️
“Jiwan was perfect and our cats were happy, well fed and relaxed when we came home. She gave excellent reports, was efficient and timely and sent us great photos. we would certainly hire Jiwan again!”

“Dallas did a great job of taking care of my 2 cats while I was. She is very responsible and definitely a cat person. My Romeo took to her immediately. I highly the and will book her again.”

“Anna was amazing. Just from the photos she regularly sent us (we can never have too many photos!) our cats looked very happy and absolutely comfortable with her. She gave us great updates after each visit. We will absolutely ask her to watch our cats again!!”

“Nathan is taking such good care of my very active doggy duo! He's helping them (and me!) through a transition to being home alone all day for the first time in their lives and it's been a tremendous relief to know that they are getting exercise, enrichment, and attention from Nathan during the day. He has been communicative, flexible, and highly trustworthy. It's clear that Nathan is a dog lover and understands their needs. I'm so grateful for his time with my dogs and he has my wholehearted recommendation!”

About: I have grown up with pets and even found my first job working at an animal boarding house. You could say I learned to become a professional dog walker at a young age. I have two high anxiety dogs and have been working on their social skills and coping methods to help their anxiety. I work full-time from home but take frequent breaks to let the dogs go out and play and take multiple walks a day to give them exercise. Weekends are mostly free to cuddle and to play with the fur babies. When house sitting or boarding pets I stay close so they be taken care of as needed. I keep my own pets on a schedule feeding, potty breaks and play with puzzles to earn treats. I will follow clients care guidelines to maintain consistency and keep them comfortable while their owners are gone.
“Lilieana was so kind and gracious in the booking process. She also lives nearby so made everything pretty easy. The pups looked pleased on the pictures and are happy that we are home . Frankie sniffed around for a little while wondering if she was going to come back. Definitely a great sitter pick.”

“Ronda did a great job caring for my pets! I contracted with Ronda to care for my Spaniel, Gracie while I was gone for four days. We did a "meet and greet" prior to Ronda pet sitting and Ronda was very attentive and reassuring during her introduction to my pets. While I hired Ronda to primarily take care of my dog, Gracie, we also have two indoor exotic birds, a fish tank and a chicken in our backyard, I needed these pets to be cared for in my absence as well and Ronda was able to take care of the whole menagerie. She provided plenty of great photos and details of her multiple, daily visits, I was able to relax and enjoy my time away from home knowing that all my pet's needs were being met, I will definitely hire Ronda in the future.”

About: I’m a current foster home for the Troutdale shelter. I’ve taken legal cases and regular foster cases until they are adopted. I love all animals and just want to help those in need. I currently work from home so I’m able to care for your pet all day. I’m able to play, love on them and walk them. I don’t have a fenced yard but I’m able to walk your furry friend or crate them. However you want them to be taken care of.

About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. My life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. I run my own pet services business, Hounds of Love PDX, and bring a lifetime of experience in all areas including rescue, handling, walking, daycare, sitting, fostering, transporting and volunteering with local rescue organizations, as well as for Oregon Dog Rescue and Dove Lewis. I'm a small dog and senior advocate, and work with dogs of all sizes. I’ve always had an affinity for sighthounds(Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, etc), and understand their unique and sensitive nature well. I always put dogs first in every aspect of life, and feel they’re all part of my extended pack, and treat every dog as such. Safety is absolutely the top priority for me when working with pets. I’m always watching, listening and paying attention to their body language. I have a thorough understanding of dog behavior and know that each dog has a unique personality and needs, and that not all dogs are extroverts. In fact, many are quite the opposite. I’m naturally hyper-vigilant, yet focus on remaining calm and assertive when working with dogs, especially when out in the world. I’ve completed a variety of trainings with dogs over my lifetime, from canine good citizen, to flyball, to advanced therapy dog training. I’m Pet CPR + First Aid certified, as well as bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates. I always carry a well-stocked pet first aid kit in my vehicle, as well as water, bowls, treats, blankets and travel crates so as to always be as prepared. I’m professional, reliable, punctual, responsible, trustworthy and pride myself on practicing clear and transparent communication. I'm located in the East/SE Portland area, also near Happy Valley and Gresham, and I service most all surrounding areas. In addition to working with dogs, I'm also a part-time jewelry artist and I work out of my home studio. I make my own schedule and usually, always available. I can schedule around most everything. At my home, I have three small rescue dogs that are a bonded pack. We utilize pet gates and dog run fencing in our fenced backyard. Open to small dogs for boarding and daycare.
About: I have been a pet owner for over 20 years and have taken care of a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, fish, and guinea pigs. I treat my own fur baby, Dexter, like my own child and I will do the same for yours! He’s my best friend, we do everything together & that’s exactly how I will treat your pup or kitty. I would love to take your fur baby on a nature hike, to the local coffee shop for a puppuccino, to a park to play fetch, or even just playing and lounging around the home. I am here to keep your pet safe and comfortable. Whatever works well and best for them. I work a full-time hybrid position, so my schedule can be flexible at times with advanced scheduling. I am typically able to interact with your fur child as much as needed! We can go on a short walk or hang out at home before I go to work, during my lunch break, and after I am off! Weekends are usually wide open availability. I am no longer offering boarding services at my home, however, I would love to check in on your pet at your home as much as needed. Due to having a pup of my own with his own needs, I will not be able to spend the night at your home. Please note, this prior to booking. I am only available for drop-in visits. Drop in visits typically range from 3-7 times per day, depending on your pet’s needs. I want to ensure your pet is comfortable and safe in the comfort of their home.

We were so thankful to have Emily take care of our cat Sophie. Being a senior, Sophie is a bit picky about what she eats and wants to eat multiple times a day. Plus she's on oral medications twice a day. Emily jumped right into our somewhat complex daily routine and did a fantastic job. She gave us updates with each visit, made Sophie snacks to have during the day and evening and even brought in our mail and took out our trash. Overall, Sophie was well cared for while we were away and the peace of mind we had knowing she was in Emily's capable hands was priceless. We will definitely be using Emily again and would highly recommend her.
Michelle took great care of my 2 kitties! She spent extra time with them as they were pretty nervous/anxious with my absence. She sent daily updates with photos, as well as cleaned their litter box and made sure they had plenty of food and water. Highly recommend to reach out to Michelle for any pet sitting needs!

Anika came by for the meet and greet and was exactly on time! She is very friendly and personable. She took care of our two cats while we were gone (although she didn't see much of Zipper because he's shy). She sent pictures each day of playing with Pixie. I would recommend her to anyone.

We feel so lucky to have found Jiwan! She’s always quick to respond when we get in touch about booking with her. When she cat sits for us, we have total peace of mind. She’s great at taking care of our cats, is very communicative, and always takes the best photos! We always feel like she takes extra care of our cats. Thanks again for taking good care of our kitties 😸😸

Ash took great care of my cats while out of town for a week. She listened to my concerns of being away from my furbabies and helped put those concerns to rest with great communication. She was also very receptive to my additional requests made throughout her drop-ins and was courteous to clean up after their kitty messes too. I’ll trust Ash any time I need a cat sitter!

Clarissa was a total rockstar!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She stopped by our home every other day for 2 weeks while we were on our honeymoon. She watched our 2 cats, Little Sister and Beans; and her updates, messages, and pictures showed her commitment to ensuring that our fur-babies felt safe, comfortable, and loved while we were away. We were happy to see our cats engaging with her and growing comfortable with her presence, and we would HIGHLY recommend her for any future sitting needs. 💜 She is simply lovely!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gresham. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
