“Roxanne did a great job with drop in feeding & litter box scooping for my kitties while I was out of town. She was very dependable & also went above and beyond in sweeping up my entry way for me when the apartment management did some power washing.”

About: Hello! I’ve been around dogs my whole life and and excited to get to know yours and help out this summertime! For almost 15 years, I helped raise and take care of my family dog, Dakota. She was terrier mix who loved to play and eat like there’s no tomorrow! A few years after she passed, my sister adopted a puppy, and being a dog aunt has healed my heart once again! I love seeing dogs grow into their own personalities and learn from real world experiences. I feel that helping raise puppies, and continuing to care for them as they age gives me first hand insight on how dogs should be treated for best results: with patience, attention, and compassion. I feel confident giving commands and helping with basic training to puppies and actives, while also being more than happy to sit and chill with others :) Starting in June, I will be off for summer break from my job and will be available almost every day. I have pretty open availability on the weekends and am flexible to change things up. I’m looking forward to having a bit of a mixed schedule and taking things as they go. When sitting in a clients home, I think it’s important to make sure your fur baby feels comfortable since it is their space after all! I will do everything I can to help, whether it’s trying to play or get outside for a walk, but if it’s simply not happening and your pup is feeling nervous about someone they’re unfamiliar with in their home, then I will never push a boundary.

“Emily was wonderful with our 4-month-old Beagle, Toby. She great at playing with dogs and clearly loves animals very much. She was right on time, stayed the full hour, and was great about communicating ahead of the visit. I highly recommend her!”

“Makenzie has done a fantastic job with our two dogs. We were looking for someone reliable to come over on certain evenings, and she has been that for us. She plays ball with our younger high-energy dog in the backyard to wear him out, and the dogs are fast asleep when we get home! Plus, she takes a ton of great pictures. We will be using her services regularly. Thank you, Makenzie!”

“Jiwan got along great with Codi & Spear and is welcome back anytime. They played and walked together, and she gave them well deserved treats. Great work, Jiwan! We look forward to next time.”
About: I love animals, and I enjoy providing pets with everything they need to be happy and healthy while their people busy or out of town. I have taken care of a wide variety of animals from dogs and cats, to cows and horses, and walked dogs of all sizes. I am currently a full time collage student, attending both online and in person school. Taking online classes means that I am able to spend more time with your pet. I am available anytime on weekends and Fridays, and before 1:00pm on Thursdays for dog walking. I can provide pet sitting every day of the week except for Thursdays. I can still provide cat sitting on Thursdays, but I will be out of the house for 7 hours which is too long for most dogs. When caring for your pets in your home I try to make them feel comfortable by following their normal routines as much as possible, and reading the needs of the individual pet. I will keep your home clean and safe for your pet during drop-ins and sitting while you are away.
“Michelle is wonderful. She was attentive to my kitty while we were gone and also helped with a few light watering chores for my garden. I will definitely have her back.”

“Lilieana was so kind and gracious in the booking process. She also lives nearby so made everything pretty easy. The pups looked pleased on the pictures and are happy that we are home . Frankie sniffed around for a little while wondering if she was going to come back. Definitely a great sitter pick.”

“Anna came for a meet and greet with me and Sunny. Everything went well. Anna stopped by a few days later to take my 8 month old goldendoodle outside for a potty break and to feed him dinner while I was at work. Anna was punctual, professional and provided me with awesome pictures of Sunny and an update text message of her visit. 10/10 recommend.”

“Sarah R. was outstanding. She took the greatest care of my two kitties. She was thoughtful, consistent and followed my 2-page list of directions. I tend to overdo it with guidance, so I was impressed that she followed all of them. I appreciated her responsiveness. She gave me daily updates with pix - even of the cleaned cat boxes. She went above and beyond by vacuuming the areas near the boxes! I will absolutely hire Sarah. R. again. I strongly recommend her.”

“Lynden and Timothy have been taking my pups out for potty breaks on days I work late. They’ve been fantastic and always take a few cute pics and leave a note.”

“I’ve never felt safe leaving my babies with anyone, but you have taken such great care of them and truly eased my mind while I was away! You followed all my lengthy notes about their care, and in the photos they looked SO happy 🥹! I appreciate you so so so much, and I will definitely choose you again whenever we go out of town again!!!”

About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. I run my own business, Hounds of Love PDX, and bring a lifetime of experience in all areas including rescue, handling, walking, daycare, sitting, fostering, transporting and volunteering with local rescue organizations, as well as for Oregon Dog Rescue and Dove Lewis. I'm a small dog and senior advocate, and work with dogs of all sizes and breeds. I do not work with any dogs who have shown signs of being aggressive towards humans, though I can recommend some excellent local trainers who do. I’ve always had an affinity for sighthounds(Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, etc), and understand their unique and sensitive nature well. I always put dogs first in every aspect of life, and feel they’re all part of my extended pack, and treat every dog as such. Safety is top priority for me when working with pets. I’m always watching, listening and paying attention to their body language. I have a deep understanding of dog psychology and know that each dog has a unique personality and needs, and that not all dogs are extroverts. In fact, many are quite the opposite. I’m naturally hyper-vigilant, yet focus on remaining calm and assertive when working with dogs, especially when out in the world. I’ve completed a variety of trainings with dogs over my lifetime, from canine good citizen, to flyball, to advanced therapy dog training. I’m Pet CPR + First Aid certified, as well as bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates. I always carry a well-stocked pet first aid kit in my vehicle, as well as water, bowls, treats, blankets and crates so as to always be as prepared. I’m professional, reliable, punctual, responsible, trustworthy and pride myself on practicing clear and transparent communication. I'm located in the east Portland area between Happy Valley and Gresham, and service most all surrounding areas. In addition to working with dogs, I'm also a part-time jewelry artist and I work out of my home studio. I make my own schedule and usually, always available. I can schedule around most everything. At my home, I have three small rescue dogs that are a bonded pack. We utilize pet gates and dog run fencing in our fenced backyard. Open to small dogs for boarding and daycare.

“Penny was welcomed by our nervous pup with open paws and lots of slobber. She fit right in with the routine and shared photos. We felt safe, knowing that Chester was cared for in our absence.”

“Ronda did a great job caring for my pets! I contracted with Ronda to care for my Spaniel, Gracie while I was gone for four days. We did a "meet and greet" prior to Ronda pet sitting and Ronda was very attentive and reassuring during her introduction to my pets. While I hired Ronda to primarily take care of my dog, Gracie, we also have two indoor exotic birds, a fish tank and a chicken in our backyard, I needed these pets to be cared for in my absence as well and Ronda was able to take care of the whole menagerie. She provided plenty of great photos and details of her multiple, daily visits, I was able to relax and enjoy my time away from home knowing that all my pet's needs were being met, I will definitely hire Ronda in the future.”

“Samie is one of our favorites to look after our dogs! She responds to inquiries, updates us, sends us pictures. We know that our dogs are well taken cared of whenever she’s around! We are very grateful for Samie!”

About: I have been a pet owner for over 20 years and have taken care of a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, fish, and guinea pigs. I treat my own fur baby, Dexter, like my own child and I will do the same for yours! He’s my best friend, we do everything together & that’s exactly how I will treat your pup or kitty. I would love to take your fur baby on a nature hike, to the local coffee shop for a puppuccino, to a park to play fetch, or even just playing and lounging around the home. I am here to keep your pet safe and comfortable. Whatever works well and best for them. I work a full-time hybrid position, so my schedule can be flexible at times with advanced scheduling. I am typically able to interact with your fur child as much as needed! We can go on a short walk or hang out at home before I go to work, during my lunch break, and after I am off! Weekends are usually wide open availability. I am no longer offering boarding services at my home, however, I would love to check in on your pet at your home as much as needed. Due to having a pup of my own with his own needs, I will not be able to spend the night at your home. Please note, this prior to booking. I am only available for drop-in visits. Drop in visits typically range from 3-7 times per day, depending on your pet’s needs. I want to ensure your pet is comfortable and safe in the comfort of their home.
“As always Elizabeth is wonderful with my dogs and is available for last minute requests in addition to her daily dog walks. I would recommend her without hesitation. She treats my pups like her own.”

We feel so lucky to have found Jiwan! She’s always quick to respond when we get in touch about booking with her. When she cat sits for us, we have total peace of mind. She’s great at taking care of our cats, is very communicative, and always takes the best photos! We always feel like she takes extra care of our cats. Thanks again for taking good care of our kitties 😸😸

Ash took great care of my cats while out of town for a week. She listened to my concerns of being away from my furbabies and helped put those concerns to rest with great communication. She was also very receptive to my additional requests made throughout her drop-ins and was courteous to clean up after their kitty messes too. I’ll trust Ash any time I need a cat sitter!
