Princess was super awesome. My little Lexi is a very shy dog to people upfront but for some reason Lexi went differently to Princess and greeted her. She took a lot of pictures and spent the full 30 minutes walking Lexi. She made me feel at ease and made sure Lexi was safe. I 100% recommend Princess.

About: Dedicated Certified Dog Trainer and Pet First Aid/CPR Instructor with over 30 years experience caring for my own variety of pets and family and friend's pets. I also have over 4 years experience working in high-volume doggie daycare, boarding, and training environment. I'm experienced in working with dogs of different breeds, ages, sizes (XS-XXL), and temperaments. I am also experienced in caring for cats, rats, guinea pigs, and bunnies. The pets in my care will be treated like my own and receive top-tier care. I work from home, so your pet won't be left alone or crated all day. I have a fully fenced backyard (6ft tall vinyl fencing), baby gates, and x-pens to keep dogs out of unwanted areas or keep dogs separated. I enjoy capturing pictures and videos of the pets in my care doing various activities and am willing to send you updates throughout their stay. I'm starting my own in home pet care and am home with your pets 24/7. Everyday the pets in my care are let out for a potty break upon arrival or in the morning, before coming back into their separate spaces to have breakfast (if boarding or parent's brought breakfast). About an hour (time to let their food settle) after breakfast we go out for another supervised potty break, depending on the weather we'll stay outside and engage in some supervised play or come inside and do some enrichment activities before enjoying some down time to relax and reset. If you have requested a lunch for your pet, I'll provide a safe and quiet space for you pet to enjoy some lunch between 12pm-1pm. After letting their lunch settle( between 1pm-2pm) we'll go back out for a supervised potty break and some more supervised playtime, enrichment, or go for a walk in the neighborhood. I live in a house in a quiet neighborhood. I have 2 pet friendly dogs of my own, a husband, and a 16 year old son. My backyard is fully fenced (6ft tall) with security cameras all around the outside. I also have baby gates and x-pens to keep pets separated if needed. I have poop scoops and a bucket for quick and easy clean up, pet safe/vet approved sanitizer to keep things clean, pet first aid supplies, toys, enrichment/training equipment, a dog run, kennels, water bowls, a sandbox for digging in, swimming pools/sprinklers for hot days, and plan to add more outdoor equipment for a more fun and enriching time. Your pets will be treated like one of my own.

Samie didn’t great with Eden today. They played, she had her go potty and even followed every wild direction and listened when I explained tips for making her time with my overstimulated puppy easier. Samie sent plenty of cool photos and even went above and beyond to feed my always hungry cat who screams for his food. Thanks Samie! Eden and Ninja would be happy to have you back for a walk or drop in.

About: I grew up on property where people would dump their cats, so I have helped raise bottle babies, seniors and momma cats. I also grew up with 2 dogs, taking care of them with my mom. I currently have 4 cats of my own and help care for my grandmas dog Romeo who you see in one of my pictures. I do not have veterinary licensing or certifications, but I have years of real life experience and promise your animal(s) will be well cared for and loved while you’re away. I am unavailable from 8-5 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I am always willing to come before and after for drop ins, and am available for overnight stays every day of the week except Sunday & Monday nights. I am comfortable crating, feeding, cleaning up after & doing basically anything a pet owner needs to do for their animal. About: Animals have been a part of my life from the day I was born. I grew up on a farm and have spent my entire life caring for animals of all kinds. My passion for animals isn't just a hobby—it's been the focus of my personal and professional life. I have over 8 years of dog training experience and am comfortable working hands-on with dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and behavior types. Whether you have a playful puppy, an energetic adolescent, a senior dog needing extra patience, or a dog with unique behavioral needs, I strive to provide individualized care that helps them feel safe, comfortable, and understood. I also absolutely love cats and enjoy building trust with each cat at their own pace. From social butterflies to shy kitties, I make sure every feline receives the attention and care they deserve. My experience extends far beyond dogs and cats. I have cared for rabbits, rats, hamsters, and other small animals, as well as reptiles, fish, and exotic pets. Thanks to my farm upbringing, I also have extensive experience with horses, livestock, and other farm animals. Because of my diverse background, I'm comfortable caring for multi-pet households and pets with specialized care routines. I understand that every animal is unique, and I treat each one as if they were my own—with patience, respect, and genuine love. When you book with me, you're choosing someone with a lifetime of animal experience, professional handling skills, and a deep commitment to providing the highest quality care for animals of all kinds. 🐾❤️ Pet care is part of my daily life. I have years of hands-on animal care experience and build my schedule around providing reliable feeding, exercise, enrichment, training, and companionship. 🐾 I provide personalized care based on each pet's needs, including feeding, walks, playtime, enrichment, medication administration, training reinforcement, and plenty of affection. I follow your pet's normal routine as closely as possible to keep them comfortable, happy, and stress-free while you're away. 🐾❤️

About: One of my passions in life is pets and caring for them. As a graduate from Carrington College in veterinary assisting I learned valuable skills such as understanding animal behavior, CPR, nail trims and administering medications. I have had dogs, cats, rabbits, hampsters, lizards, fish, frogs and feel comfortable with nearly any type of pet. What I bring to pet care is a strong connection to animals, I feel a sense of responsibility and need to care for them and be their new best friend. I will always talk to pets & their owners when I see them on a bus, walking down the street, or in an outside restaurant. I am vegan, as I feel that all animals should be treated well. I do not impose my views on anyone but am happy to talk about it and offer advice if asked. OUTSIDE REVIEWS Heather took care of my young and active miniature Australian Labradoodle Maggie for 3 nights. She stayed at my home and did an amazing job. I came home to a calm and happy dog and my house was just as I left it . Maggie loved her and she loved Maggie. I felt 100 % confident that she was in good hands. She has experience with animals, loves them and has even had vet tech training in the past. Previously, when I left Maggie with a sitter for 3 days she didn’t eat and lost a pound, but with Heather she was just as I left her. I was delighted. Heather gets 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 I am free just about any time and duration, and can go anywhere that Tri-Met can take me if it's an hour or less travel time. I will take your dog to a park if it's within walking distance, or walk around the neighborhood, or play/run around in the yard or house as well.

About: I’ve grown up with all kinds of pets, from cats and dogs to Guinea pigs and lizards. I’m adaptable, and can take care of anything you need. I’m excited and ready to meet and help out you and your babies! Fun fact about me: I’ve actually traveled to Pennsylvania to pet sit! My full time job doesn’t start until the middle of August, so until then I’m free! After September 8th to mid November, I’ll only be available weekends (Friday night to Monday morning.) After that, I am available until January. I am free all winter and summer long! I do have a part time job that I work 6-8 hours a couple days a week. I do not know my schedule far in advance, but I can request days off to accommodate you and your pets! Building trust with you and your pets is huge. I’d love to schedule a meet up before taking on caring for your pet so they can get to know me and be comfortable. I am adaptable and care for your animals no matter the circumstances

About: Animals have always been part of my life — from horses to fish, and most importantly, dogs. For the past 2+ years I’ve been a foster with the Portland Dachshund Rescue, caring for everything from energetic puppies to seniors with medical needs. Through local dachshund meetups and rescue work, I’ve become known as a trusted safe space for small dogs in the Portland community. What sets me apart is the blend of heart and hands-on skills: • Experience with senior dogs, medical care, and even injections when needed. • Specialized understanding of dachshunds and other small breeds. • A home set up with secure fencing and stairs for tiny dogs’ safety. • The flexibility of working from home most days, with the option to bring pups to the office on others. I treat every guest like my own — with patience, love, and individualized care. Most days I work from home, so your pup will get plenty of company and attention throughout the day. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I go into the office, but I can often bring a guest dog with me if needed, so they won’t be left alone. Because I only host up to two small dogs at a time (20 lbs and under), I can keep routines flexible — from regular potty breaks and short walks to cuddle breaks on the couch. My schedule is designed to give your pup a safe, consistent rhythm while you’re away. Whether your pup is staying at my townhome or I’m caring for them in yours, safety is always the top priority. My home is rescue-approved with secure fencing, pet stairs, and even an outdoor ramp in progress for tiny legs. Guests are always supervised, indoors and out. If I’m in your home, I treat your space with the same respect I’d want for my own. I understand the trust it takes to hand over your keys, and I’m happy to follow any security routines or send photos so you feel comfortable. My goal is simple: peace of mind for you, and a safe, happy experience for your pet.

  • 96% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
