Finding the right fit for taking care of my two older chihuahuas was very stressful, until I came across Julie and Barry. Firstly, my huge requirement was that they had no dogs of their own and secondly, that they would only have one client at a time. That is not super easy to find. And not only do they fulfill both of those requirements, but it is two people instead of one, so it's an incredible amount of care and attention that is given to any animal that they might care for. One of my pups has some pretty major anxiety and Julie knew just what to do with her. She turns on her heating pad and cuddles up on the couch with her, and I can tell that they are very loved while there. And though I know my pups don't like being away from me, they very obviously feel safe and comfortable with both Julie and Barry. They also have a wonderful place for the dogs to be when outside. Our pups are going to board with them soon and we feel 100% comfortable with it, and excited that we have found Julie and Barry. Besides taking great care of the pups, they are lovely people and we have enjoyed getting to know them.

About: Animals have always been part of my life — from horses to fish, and most importantly, dogs. For the past 2+ years I’ve been a foster with the Portland Dachshund Rescue, caring for everything from energetic puppies to seniors with medical needs. Through local dachshund meetups and rescue work, I’ve become known as a trusted safe space for small dogs in the Portland community. What sets me apart is the blend of heart and hands-on skills: • Experience with senior dogs, medical care, and even injections when needed. • Specialized understanding of dachshunds and other small breeds. • A home set up with secure fencing and stairs for tiny dogs’ safety. • The flexibility of working from home most days, with the option to bring pups to the office on others. I treat every guest like my own — with patience, love, and individualized care. Most days I work from home, so your pup will get plenty of company and attention throughout the day. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I go into the office, but I can often bring a guest dog with me if needed, so they won’t be left alone. Because I only host up to two small dogs at a time (20 lbs and under), I can keep routines flexible — from regular potty breaks and short walks to cuddle breaks on the couch. My schedule is designed to give your pup a safe, consistent rhythm while you’re away. Whether your pup is staying at my townhome or I’m caring for them in yours, safety is always the top priority. My home is rescue-approved with secure fencing, pet stairs, and even an outdoor ramp in progress for tiny legs. Guests are always supervised, indoors and out. If I’m in your home, I treat your space with the same respect I’d want for my own. I understand the trust it takes to hand over your keys, and I’m happy to follow any security routines or send photos so you feel comfortable. My goal is simple: peace of mind for you, and a safe, happy experience for your pet.

Hank, my service dog, went to play at Sam’s house several times A few years ago; due to moving in job change we no longer needed their service for a while: but with a new baby we were ecstatic to see that they offer transportation as well as daycare now!! 100% trust them with Hank at all times and they’ve gone above and beyond to make sure he’s happy and to let me know what’s going on ♥️ I can tell when he comes back that he was in the company of good people and good dogs. Thank you Sam Devin and Emily!

Emma is amazing! She is so knowledgeable about dogs and asked all the right questions before we brought our pup over for daycare. We received pictures and a video during the day and were updated on how things were going. When we picked up our pup, she smelled amazing and was wearing a cute little bandana! We are so happy we found Emma’s place and will keep sending our pup back!

About: I have grown up with pets and even found my first job working at an animal boarding house. You could say I learned to become a professional dog walker at a young age. I have two high anxiety dogs and have been working on their social skills and coping methods to help their anxiety. I work full-time from home but take frequent breaks to let the dogs go out and play and take multiple walks a day to give them exercise. Weekends are mostly free to cuddle and to play with the fur babies. When house sitting or boarding pets I stay close so they be taken care of as needed. I keep my own pets on a schedule feeding, potty breaks and play with puzzles to earn treats. I will follow clients care guidelines to maintain consistency and keep them comfortable while their owners are gone.

Charlene has been hands-down, the BEST dog sitter we’ve ever had. The amount of love, care, fun, and exercise she gave our dog, Ginkgo, was truly exceptional. I’m someone who loves pictures and updates, and Charlene provided beautiful pictures and updates without prompting during Ginkgo’s 4 day stay. He got to go on runs, long hikes, and even got a pup cup with her daughter. He came home each day absolutely exhausted, which was amazing for my husband after working long days. We are so grateful we found Charlene!

About: All services are offered in Oregon. For Washington folks, I can offer boarding your pet in my own home but I do not travel across the river. I have over 1/2 acre of fenced yard and I am home all day giving your babies my full attention. Caring for your pet is my full time job. I am in the proocess of updating my Rover profile and expanding my services! Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I worked in a veterinary clinic setting for almost 5 years. I have owned two senior border collies that I trained since they were puppies. I have personal experience training using only positivity and clicker signals. I have also owned 3 senior cats that I've had since they were kittens. I no longer have any pets in my home and looking forward to spending time with yours! Caring for your pet(s) is my full time job. All services are offered in Oregon. For Washington folks, I can offer boarding your pet in my own home but I do not travel across the river. I have over 1/2 acre of fenced yard and I am home all day giving your babies my full attention. I will never leave them alone for more than 2 hours on any day. I started in a veterinary clinic many years ago but took some detours in my career. I have tried everything from business accounting to teaching middle and highschool math. Since all of my pets have passed over the rainbow bridge, I have decided to come back to my true passion... taking care of animals! I am also working towards a becoming a certified dog trainer. Your pet will not be lonely with me. I will play tug or fetch with your dogs. I am happy to use a crate or cuddle with your fur baby on the couch for nap time. I will be happy to brush your cats and spoil them with catnip and chin scratches. I will keep their rountine to make them comfortable and give them plenty of engaging activities to keep their mind sharp.

About: Hi! My name is Vanessa, and caring for animals has always been my passion. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and currently manage a doggy daycare, where I work with dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and personalities every day. My experience with animals extends far beyond my career. I’ve spent years volunteering with animal shelters and rescue organizations, providing care, enrichment, and support to animals in need. Through both my education and hands-on experience, I have developed a strong understanding of animal behavior, body language, and overall health and wellness. I also have experience with dog training and behavior management, including working with puppies, energetic dogs, and dogs who may need a little extra patience and guidance. My goal is always to provide a safe, comfortable, and positive environment where pets feel loved and cared for while their owners are away. I understand that every pet is unique, and I treat each one as if they were my own. Whether your furry friend needs a fun walk, playtime, cuddles, or attentive care, you can trust that they will be in responsible and experienced hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pet!

This daycare with Emma has been such a god send to me. I have a 15 lb hairless chinese crested dog who was so lonely after losing his best friend (my forever dog). My dog loves big dogs and he’s found this little tribe of friends at this daycare. I love that they encourage the dogs to work as a “pack” as it really provides structure to the day vs other day cares i looked at where it was doggy lord of the flies. I really appreciate the flexibility with bookings, communication is always top notch - and the peace of mind knowing while i’m grinding away at work or whatever adult thing - i know my dog is being cared for, bonding with his pals, and being loved on. I also appreciate that at Emma’s daycare all dogs play together - when i looked at other options my smaller dog would have been grouped with other small dogs but he truly wants to run with the big dogs- and due to Emma’s daycare he does that here and it’s awesome. This daycare really has been such a blessing to me and my dog and helped us move forward after a major loss of the older dog.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Gresham on Rover is $29.97 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,809 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Gresham. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Gresham commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,809 sitters in Gresham, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
