“I really appreciated how easily and quickly communication went with Melissa. She helped out in a pinch, and went above and beyond. Would absolutely recommend her moving forward”

“My dogs warmed up to Tiana quickly. They look forward to her walks! She is personable, professional, dependable and doesn’t hesitate to ask questions or provide info to make their walks enjoyable. I’m new to Rover and she has been so helpful 😃.”

“Hannah is fantastic. Low-key loves and her loves her. Excuse me one thing though Loki is an English cream golden retriever. I’m not sure whether it was pilot error on my part when I put in what type of doggie is or not, but if it can be changed. It should be changed to an English cream, golden retriever”

“Aislynn was such an awesome walker and would highly recommend her! She took such great care of our dog and cat, and we would book her again in a heartbeat. We were in constant communication and the pictures we got every day were great. Thelma and Bourbon would love to see you again!”

About: Everyone needs an aunt nearby to check on their dog or care for their dog when you're away. I will spoil your pup with love and attention like I do with my German Shorthair Pointer! I work from home and have the flexibility to take your pup for a walk or stop by for a quick belly rub and potty break. And, of course, a little playtime! I love all breeds and sizes and respect each dog’s individual personality and needs. I can bring my friendly dog, Oscar, along for some play and socializing or come solo to give all my attention to yours! My goal is to help you worry less about your dog while your away from home to give your dog what they need. I work full time from home. My 1/3 acre lot is wonderful for active dogs like our GSP Oscar. Pups who prefer to lounge and snuggle have a spot in my office on the bed next to my desk. Oscar loves dogs of all sizes and so do I! Whether you need daycare or someone to love your pup while you’re away overnight, my lifestyle and home is ideal! I have a 1/3 acre fully fenced yard with lots of room to run! I allow the dogs on the couch and the bed in my office. Oscar is fully vaccinated and takes monthly Simparica. I regularly pick up poop in the yard. My neighborhood is quiet and safe. I am skilled at walking two big dogs at the same time and often do during my lunch break.
“Cooper is always so happy to see Bridgette. He gives a little squel when he sees her coming up the sidewalk. Then, as I close the door, I see him turn to her for a face to face hello and petting. He loves his walks, but he obviously enjoys his personal connection with Bridgette, too. Warms my heart every time!”

About: We love all animals and appreciate their intelligence and respect their feelings. We have had dogs and/or cats always. We have also had goats, pot bellied pigs, chickens, miniature donkeys and fish. We love spending time with animals and attending to their needs. Walks at parks and in nature or around the neighborhood are a regular part of our day. We are retired and spend a lot of our time traveling in Southern California and Mexico. We provide a safe calm environment in your home and keep your pets' normal routines. We will be bringing our dog with us and she is well adjusted to changing environments and meeting new animal friends. Housesitting is part of our travel strategy and we have received many positive reviews over the past few years. I also have done some dog training and animals are comfortable around us. We are retired and take several walks a day. Our schedule is very flexible. We like to be able to take your dogs in the car for walking adventures if they are comfortable with that. We give your pets lots of snuggles. We aim to follow and maintain the normal, expected routines of the pets we care for. We give them lots of attention and send pics to their owners.
About: i was raised around dogs my entire life. i have a pup who is 4 years old who is like my baby. i know what it is like to have an animal that you love like a child & i want to help others out by treating their dogs like they’re family (: i am a stay at home mama at the moment. i have 3 years of experience working at a dog boarding and grooming shop as a kennel assistant 🤍 i have 2 fenced yards that are big enough for the doggos to run around in. there are many toys at my house for the dogs to play with and even have 2 friendly dogs for the pups to play with as well. my puppy is pretty active and wants to play constantly, she loves the comfort of another animal.
“Kena was great with our difficult pit bull, she followed instructions well and problem solved when our dog would not listen well. When she left he was a tired mess and slept through the night!”

About: I have cared for energetic puppies to old man dogs, kittens to old lady cats, rabbits, I have rescued lots of pets that needed special care, I've taken care of aquariums. Whatever care your pets need, chances are I've done something similar at least. I am a student with class on Wednesdays, and I I am available the rest of the week. I have a child, so I'm not available to spend nights away from home. I've had a lot of pets and I understand that every pet is different. I have a lot of time to really spend caring for your pet in the ways you request, whether it's lots of walks to the park, sitting at home getting pets and attention, administering medications. I'm very flexible and understanding to whatever your furry friends needs are.
About: I grew up in rural midwest with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs since I was 9. I was a dedicated and loving dog mama to my beloved bernese mountain dog, Riker, for 9.5 years and I miss him very much. I enjoyed taking my boy to thousand acres, Mt. Tabor, and several other dog parks and we've gone on many hikes on the coast, in the gorge, and in Mt. Hood forest. I have special connections with my friends' animals and I've enjoyed taking their dogs for walks since my boy passed last March. I'm a fourth-year doctoral graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) meaning my schedule can be pretty flexible. I have two full days of clinic per week and fill the rest of the week with writing and research. When I'm not in clinic I can work with my schedule to take your fur baby on walks, check in on them to let them out, or schedule an adventure! I can also come house sit or invite your pet over for the day or extended stay. I have a fenced in backyard with ample space for throwing the ball or lounging in the sun on a picnic blanket. We also live very close to a park for on leash walks or park hangs. Our fur baby passed in March 2026 but our one-level house is still set up to be accessible with rugs on the wood flooring for traction, plenty of blankets and comfy spots to sleep, and easy access to the back yard (just two steps). We allow animals on furniture but respect your rules if that's a boundary of yours!
“It’s clear they truly love animals, and my pups warmed up to them right away. I’m so glad we found such a caring and reliable person to help us with dog walking. We highly recommend them and will definitely continue working with them!”

About: Hey pups and pup parents! I’m a systems analyst by trade, aka a checklist person. I’m naturally detail-oriented, so if your pet has a specific medication routine, a strict diet, or a very particular way they like things done, I’m the person who will get it right. With two high-energy children and a senior dog at home, I know all about being the beacon of calm and patience. I have a massive soft spot for silly “Golden Retriever energy" and a special place in my heart for seniors. I’m new to this paid pet drop-in gig, but I have cared for pets and children (including those with disabilities) nearly all my life. A quick note on fit: To keep things safe and happy for everyone, I only sit for friendly, non-aggressive dogs. I want to make sure I can give your pup 100% of my attention in a relaxed setting! I’m currently working part-time and have two children to take to from care. Because of this, mid-day drop ins/walks work best. When I’m in your home for a drop-in, I’ll treat your space and your security with total respect. I’m the person who triple-checks that the door is locked before we head out for a walk. My goal is to leave your home exactly how I found it—just with a much happier pet.
“Amir did an amazing job taking care of our dog Yoshi! I knew right away from the meet and greet that he was going to be a great fit. He has a very calm energy and it was the perfect vibe for our Shiba. he was very communicative throughout the time we were out of town which put us at ease. 10/10 I would have Amir take care Yoshi again.”

“Shianne was fantastic! This was our second booking with Shianne and our dog was so happy to see her! Shianne has everything we would want in a dog walker - clear communication, patience and skill with dogs, warmth and professionalism. I'll definitely look to Shianne any time I can't walk my own dog in the future.”

Kena is fantastic! She’s clearly very comfortable with large dogs and handled my 100lb Doberman shepherd with ease, a calm demeanor, and gentle confidence. I really appreciate her professionalism, punctuality, and great communication too! You can tell she’s very experienced with dogs and dog behaviors and I immediately felt comfortable leaving my pup in her capable hands at the off leash dog park, knowing that her sense for behaviors and how to interact with them would keep him safe. Will definitely be booking with Kena again!

Aislynn was such an awesome walker and would highly recommend her! She took such great care of our dog and cat, and we would book her again in a heartbeat. We were in constant communication and the pictures we got every day were great. Thelma and Bourbon would love to see you again!

I’m so glad I found Angela to help walk my very particular little cattle dog/chihuahua mix. He was getting too overstimulated at daycare and this has been a great switch. Angela is super communicative, sends great updates and pictures, and always makes sure Alfie has a fresh bowl of water and has settled down comfortably before she leaves. 🙂

Erin is simply the best! They are friendly, reliable, cool, and my dog and cat adore them!! I’m so grateful to have Erin on my team. It’s hard living in a city with no family nearby, and Erin makes life feel a bit more connected and I don’t need to worry about how to make sure my pets are well cared-for and loved when I’m away!

Brittney is the best! She’s super reliable and prompt. She’s very observant of the dog’s behavior and likes and dislikes. She has excellent communication and so she’s really easy to work with. She went above and beyond to accommodate the needs of our family and our dog.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
