I recognize that allowing someone (particularly someone from the internet) to stay in your home and care for your beloved family members is an important responsibility, and trust is such an important part of a positive stay for all parties! I have a questionnaire that I bring and fill out during any new client meet and greets that includes sections about pet care and home needs so I can be sure I have the most accurate and complete picture of how to keep things running as smoothly as possible while you’re away. At the top of the list of importance— that your pet has the best time with their new friend, Kirby!

Disclaimer: While I am a full time pet care professional I am unable to provide 24-hour care due to other personal commitments around the city, including volunteer positions and my own pets (2 sweet senior kitties). If your pet is used to or in need of round-the-clock care, I am unfortunately not able to provide a good fit for your home. —I do require meet and greets for all new clients— Some information that is helpful to know prior to meeting: -Your approximate location -For dogs: general energy level/typical walk schedule -Anxieties or triggers your dog may have, particularly around meeting new folks so i can arrive to the meet and greet prepared to help best create an environment for success with that interaction -Any other information you think may be relevant or useful to know about your pet prior to meeting!

My favourite part of this job is the opportunity to get outside and explore different parts of the Portland area with the best adventure buddy— a furry friend! For more homebound pets, such as indoor kitties and senior animals, I’ve perfected a warm lap and a list of marathon-worthy movies for the ultimate cuddle session!

Hi there! My name is Kirby and I'm an english degree graduate who has given up on the process of finding a "real" job, meaning I have tons of free time to meet you and your pets! I live with two kitties, and have housed a variety of small animals in past years, including through volunteer work with Kuddles and Scales Rescue. Unfortunately, I still don’t have nearly enough furry friends in my life these days, so I'm always looking for an excuse to meet and befriend new critters. I have throughly enjoyed my stay here in Portland. I love the people and the culture, however I do find myself missing the work I did with animals back home in the Bay Area from time to time. I am a responsible, reliable individual with loads of volunteer experience working with both dogs and cats through ARF, the SF SPCA, and the Oregon Humane Society, as well as other animals such as sheep, goats, and rodents through the SF Zoo. My expertise includes extra attention for elderly pets, basic training, and medication administration, as well as exotic animal care. I am happy to provide a number of different services in your home and around Portland, from On-Demand dog walking, house stays, and even quick check-in visits. I can't wait to meet you and your pet(s)!

Oh my goodness Kirby is super thoughtful. On the 1st day I told Kirby I’d feed Zoey before I left and I forgot. She noticed and fed her. And she was only my dog walker not our house sitter. She always over and above!
Kirby is a great dog walker - I highly recommend! She really took the time to learn how to properly handle our anxious German shepherd. Our girl just loves going on walks with her. Thanks!!
