“Bridgette and Beau and Winnie could not have made Lola's stay any more comfortable. Lola had never stayed with unknown people let alone with another dog or cat so this was a bit experimental for all of us. But after a meet and greet it looked like a match. We were gone for two days and received daily updates and photos. Lola is accustomed to free ranging on furniture and beds and she was made to feel right at home with Bridgette and Beau and Winnie was a great sharer. I’m naturally detail-oriented, so if your pet has a specific medication routine, a strict diet, or a very particular way they like things done, I’m the person who will get it right. With two high-energy children and a senior dog at home, I know all about being the beacon of calm and patience. I have a massive soft spot for silly “Golden Retriever energy" and a special place in my heart for seniors. I’m new to this paid pet drop-in gig, but I have cared for pets and children (including those with disabilities) nearly all my life. A quick note on fit: To keep things safe and happy for everyone, I only sit for friendly, non-aggressive dogs. I want to make sure I can give your pup 100% of my attention in a relaxed setting! When I’m in your home for a drop-in, I’ll treat your space and your security with total respect. I’m the person who triple-checks that the door is locked before we head out for a walk. About: I grew up in rural midwest with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs since I was 9. I was a dedicated and loving dog mama to my beloved bernese mountain dog, Riker, for 9.5 years and I miss him very much. I enjoyed taking my boy to thousand acres, Mt. Tabor, and several other dog parks and we've gone on many hikes on the coast, in the gorge, and in Mt. Hood forest. I have special connections with my friends' animals and I've enjoyed taking their dogs for walks since my boy passed last March. I'm a fourth-year doctoral graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) meaning my schedule can be pretty flexible. I have two full days of clinic per week and fill the rest of the week with writing and research. When I'm not in clinic I can work with my schedule to take your fur baby on walks, check in on them to let them out, or schedule an adventure! I can also come house sit or invite your pet over for the day or extended stay. I have a fenced in backyard with ample space for throwing the ball or lounging in the sun on a picnic blanket. We also live very close to a park for on leash walks or park hangs. Our fur baby passed in March 2026 but our one-level house is still set up to be accessible with rugs on the wood flooring for traction, plenty of blankets and comfy spots to sleep, and easy access to the back yard (just two steps). We allow animals on furniture but respect your rules if that's a boundary of yours!
About: Rescued two outside cats before and have formed bonds with usually shy dogs/cats. Don’t have much experience with training animals, but will make sure they have enough exercise when needed! I work Monday, Wednesday-Friday from 6am-4pm, so while mornings are very limited, the afternoon/evening walks are all open. I would be more than happy to adding your furry family member to the friends list and be able to take them outside! Making sure the water is filled and they are fed on time when I’m there. If it’s too hot out, outside time would be limited to potty time, but would be happy to make sure they have time to play inside when I’m there!
