Rover is my full time job so I am available to stay in your home to take care of your pets on their schedule. When I am in your home, I am able to adjust my schedule to the needs of your pets. If your pet needs medication three times a day or a potty break in the middle of the night, I’m able to do that. If I leave, I do not leave dogs alone for more than 4 hours at a time. If dogs cannot be left alone for up to 4 hours at a time, I am able to accommodate that for an additional fee. Please let me know at the meet and greet.

I pet sit in your home and keep to your routine as much as possible. I am generally a quiet person but I enjoy playing with pets and I am open to pets sleeping in the bed. Whether your dog is a couch potato and wants to chill with me on the couch or a high energy dog that needs an hour long walk each day, I am flexible and able to care for them in the specific ways that need. Please be specific with meal directions. I like knowing when to give pets meals, and measurements of food.

Information Frank G. would like to know about your pet

If you’re interested in booking with me, please reach out and let me know a little bit about your pet and any specific needs that they have. If there ways that they need to be approached by new people, please let me know. Also, let me know if you want me to text you upon arrival or if it’s okay to ring the doorbell or knock. I want meet and greets to be comfortable for everyone, especially your pets. I’m available to watch animals with special needs: medical or behavioral, and with that, if there are things I can do to make your pet more comfortable upon meeting them (eg. not wearing a hat because it makes them nervous, ignoring them at first and letting them approach me, not touching specific spots when petting them) please let me know. Meet and greets are for all of us to see if we are a good fit and I understand that some dogs are more comfortable with some people than others. I appreciate knowing how I can help this process go smoothly.

A typical day

I’m mindful of pets having their individual needs, be it space or lots of attention and cuddles. I’m happy to take your dog on long walks or hikes or hang out with them on the couch watching movies. I like to work on art and write and I often will spend mornings cuddling a dog while I journal and spend the afternoon playing with dogs or going on walks.

Pet care experience

Hi I’m Frank (they/them) and I am an improv comedian, artist, and full time pet sitter/dog walker. I’m available for drop-ins and walks in Portland, and in-home housesitting anywhere within about a 50 mile radius of Portland. I am originally from Alaska and I’ve been pet sitting for 10+ years. I have experience with cats and dogs at all life stages and dogs of all sizes. I’ve cared for exotics including fish, axolotls, lizards, snakes, invertebrates, rabbits/guinea pigs, and farm animals. I’ve housebroken puppies and cared for senior dogs who need medications, including injections. I make my own schedule, and so I am able to accommodate for special needs animals, as well as caring for large menageries of pets. need to never be off-leash in an open area! I would be enthusiastic to watch a xolo! Another favorite breed of mine is the chihuahua. In the past, I have had many different kinds of pets of my own, and now I have a very cuddly older cat, Will, who on occasion comes with me to house sitting gigs, but typically stays home with my roommate. Rover is my job and it enables me to have flexibility to accommodate and adjust to your pet’s schedule and needs. My overnight rate applies to pets which can be left for 4 hours at a time. (I’m able to accommodate pets that need more frequent breaks or constant care at a higher rate. Please reach out if you are interested in this service.) Lifestyle notes: Some lifestyle notes for myself: • I am a non-smoker and I am only available to housesit in homes where cigarettes (specifically) are not smoked inside the home. • I’m available to watch indoor plants and gardens, please be specific with notes if I need to water plants. • I prefer to keep the thermostat around 68-70, and I like sleeping with extra blankets and a fan. • Please let me know your policy on me having a guest (or two) over. 🙂 I respect your comfort level and it’s important to me to not make assumptions. *** Discount for 4+ pets: 4th dog or cat free after 3 paid dogs. Please let me know and I can adjust the price before we book.

Frank took great care of Ziggy and Leia and our fishies/plants! Our apartment was super clean when we came home and it was clear that they spent a great deal of attention and care to our home and our babies. I would definitely hire them again!

Frank was such a wonderful sitter! We have a small farm (2 dogs and 2 cats) who have varying needs and Frank was so attentive with all of them! We retuned home to happy smiles and they were all well-cared for. So thankful to have Frank’s help and would love to have them again! Thank you!!!!
