About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have experience with a variety of breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’m especially comfortable with large dogs and understand the importance of providing them with plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and opportunities to burn off energy. Over the years, I’ve regularly pet sat for family friends who trusted me to care for their pet while they were away. My experience includes caring for senior dogs who require extra patience and attention, as well as energetic puppies who thrive with structure, play, and consistent supervision. Unfortunately, life circumstance limits other opportunities at the moment. I have worked in the veterinary field for the past 8 years and have pet sat countless pets when I lived in Corvallis previously. I graduated with a b.s in zoology at OSU so you can say that animals are my life. I have an 8y/o German Shepherd husky mix, Grayson, and have grown up with large to giant breed dogs, some of whom were reactive. Hence, I am comfortable walking any size dog. Grayson is dog friendly (occasionally selective) if you ever wanted your dog to walk with a friend but not needed. I work 4 10s but have Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off to walk your dog. I can possibly cat sit if you live very close. Mondays are the most ideal day to walk your dog. I will treat your pet like the special and cute babies they are. I am very receptive to following through on training you have been working on with your dog on walks.
