Shianne was fantastic! This was our second booking with Shianne and our dog was so happy to see her! Shianne has everything we would want in a dog walker - clear communication, patience and skill with dogs, warmth and professionalism. I'll definitely look to Shianne any time I can't walk my own dog in the future.

About: I’ve have one Doberman that my dad made sure I was apart of the their training and raising. So I pick up poop every week, wash them when they’re dirty, walk them every other day since she’s about 5-6 months old so has a lot of energy. I also take her to vet appointments and I help feed her dinner. I’m very experienced with big dogs and little ones because I have friends and family with dogs that range from chihuahuas to cane corsos/giant schnauzers/Hungarian sheepdog. I can do walks and pet-sit after school. On the weekends I can stay overnight if needed. I’m willing to adjust depending on the situation! A bunch of butt rubs and back scratches! I like to really connect with the dogs so if they prefer silence or tv that’s fine! Also feeding them on time and getting them out to use the bathroom on time helps create that trust and bond! I can play with the dogs to their content since I’m young and have the energy!

About: I love every pet I've ever met, from my childhood hamsters to my three silly cats - and I already know I love yours! I've had my own kitties for 6 years, and I've been taking care of others' cats, dogs, and small animals for even longer, from playful puppies to grumpy feline queens of the house. I can give most kinds of oral and topical medications comfortably if your pet needs any, and I have a decent amount of behavioral experience with anxious pets. I'm also no stranger to incontinence issues, and am more than happy to scrub any carpet. Bring on the enzyme cleaner! I'm in a transitional period right now, so I am happy to spend as much time with your pet as needed to keep their regular routine. As the owner of more than one anxious cat, I know just how important it is to keep your pet's environment as close to normal as possible while you're gone. I'm more than happy to work with you to make your house as close to routine as possible, from feeding times, play styles, or even someone to pounce on at 3am!

About: I have a very positive personality that I bring out in all work that I do. I am a practicing Speech Language Pathologist with a 3 year old pup of my own—Louie. I have taken care of pets through rover, as well as used it for my own pet care needs. I moved around the Portland area a bit, so I took a break from Rover, but now my life is more settled and I’m happy to take your fur-babies on walks, or drop in! I live in Mountain Park and would be happy to cover any “last minute” dog needs that you have. My schedule will allow for 1-3 walks/drop in visits per day. My most availability is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I pride myself in being thorough and paying attention to detail. I will follow any and all instructions that you provide. Having a dog of my own, I can supply poop bags and treats if necessary.

I have worked in multiple dog boarding facilities and in the animal care industry. I have had the please of working with different dog breeds over the past 4 years. About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.

About: I worked at a vet clinic for 3.5 years but due to life changes I now work at a pet store and petsit to continue to work with animals while I work towards my goal of working in vet med again. I’m reliable with my own transportation and am very knowledgeable in proper pet care. I am communicative, compassionate, and attentive to animals and their needs. I have been my own friends’ and family’s pet sitter for the past 5 years and I treat every animal as if they were my own while in my care. My whole life revolves around animals; I have 5 cats of my own and have fostered over 20 animals ranging from cats of all ages, dogs, and guinea pigs. I also work directly with animals at my job and am looking to continue that path. I have multiple rooms in my home to separate the animals in my care if needed, I have access to professional services if an emergency were to arise while also having knowledge of what to look for in with different medical conditions that can be present in animals. I have a good understanding of animal behavior and I understand their needs.

About: Hello! My name is Rahul (say the “h”). I have had experiences with all kind of dogs. I feel there no need for a preference. Every dog can be loved. I know how hard it is to find a good sitter for your pets and that is why I wanted to do this.I've always had dog(s) in my household growing up. I've seen them all, hyper dogs, lazy dogs, mean dogs, social dogs, and dogs that think that they're human. In my experience in dealing with all of these personalities I've noticed one trait that is essential in dog-care, patience. Patience is something that I have no shortage of, I've seen it all. I am are looking forward to helping you and your family! Can’t wait to take care of your pet! As a full-time Doctor of Physical Therapy student, I have a structured schedule that gives me flexibility throughout the week for dog walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting. Spending time with pets is a great way for me to take a break from studying, get outside, and stay active, so it's something I genuinely look forward to. I'm committed to being reliable, punctual, and communicative. Whether you need someone to walk your dog, check in on your pets during the day, or stay in your home while you're away on vacation, I'll treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would my own. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for. Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I know that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their personality, preferences, and any special instructions before caring for them. When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to keep their routine as consistent as possible—from feeding schedules and walks to playtime and cuddles. I treat every home with respect, keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as I found it. For dog walks, I prioritize safe routes, secure leashing, and positive interactions with people and other animals. I always pay close attention to your dog's body language and energy level to make sure they're comfortable and having a great time. Communication is important to me, so I'll send regular updates and photos during each visit or stay. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away with complete peace of mind, knowing your pet is being cared for with patience, kindness, and genuine attention.

We're also going through a house move, so our pup and cats are going through lots of change. It feels good to know that Allison brings the experience we need as an animal lover.

About: I’ve been taking care of my friend’s dogs for a couple years. Whether that’s walking them, feeding them, taking them out to go potty, I am completely experienced in all of those fields. Having had a dog of my own for 6 years, I know how to handle any sort of situation and how to be flexible with other dogs wants and needs. I have plenty of time this summer to help out and play with your pups! I’m available Mon-Fri after 12p and I’m willing to be flexible with times/days! I always make sure my dog’s food and water is filled and put pee pads down when I know I’m going to be away from the house for a little while. Before I start walking my dog I always make sure I have doggy bags filled and sometimes I’ll bring a rubber water bowl for hotter days.

About: Ever since I was a little girl, my family has had dogs (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel’s) that I’ve helped take care of and watch. I’ve also helped neighbors and friends watch their dogs both bigger and small dogs as well. I’ve experienced dog-sitting for those who need a little more senior dog attention to younger dogs that are more playful, and have always been very good with animals. My schedule is currently can be flexible, so I can make time to hang out and play with your dogs or cats. I’m available weekdays during the day, generally after 10am and before 4pm I am very good with animals and helping them feel comfortable. About: I am a huge animal lover and am very patient when it comes to caring for animals! I have had my cute orange tabby for about 7 years now and have the cutest 4 year old lab. I am dedicated to the animals around me and want what’s best for them. My husband and I love to go on adventures and can be active with any dog, if needed/wanted. I think every dog and or cat is special in their own way. We are both very flexible and easy going, and always think open communication is the best. We both grew up around dogs and cats it gives us experience on how to gently take care of them. We will make sure that your sweet four legged friend will have a blast under our roof. I work a typical 9-5, I have time in my day to drop home for potty breaks. My husband works three days a week usually starting at 3pm, so he is home most of the day! When watching others dogs, we make sure they are in safe hands! Will follow any specific directions that are given and give your pet the best time possible.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
