“Shianne was fantastic! This was our second booking with Shianne and our dog was so happy to see her! Shianne has everything we would want in a dog walker - clear communication, patience and skill with dogs, warmth and professionalism. I'll definitely look to Shianne any time I can't walk my own dog in the future.”

About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.
About: I’ve been taking care of my friend’s dogs for a couple years. Whether that’s walking them, feeding them, taking them out to go potty, I am completely experienced in all of those fields. Having had a dog of my own for 6 years, I know how to handle any sort of situation and how to be flexible with other dogs wants and needs. I have plenty of time this summer to help out and play with your pups! I’m available Mon-Fri after 12p and I’m willing to be flexible with times/days! I always make sure my dog’s food and water is filled and put pee pads down when I know I’m going to be away from the house for a little while. Before I start walking my dog I always make sure I have doggy bags filled and sometimes I’ll bring a rubber water bowl for hotter days.
“Our dog doesn't have a lot of experience with sitters, and Allison knew just how to patiently interact with her as she warmed up to her new friend. We're also going through a house move, so our pup and cats are going through lots of change. It feels good to know that Allison brings the experience we need as an animal lover.”

About: I’m uniquely experienced in managing multiple pets, having cared for two or more pets at all times. I understand group dynamics, individual needs, and how to keep every pup happy. I have no obligations during the weekdays after 10am. I am available on weekends as well. I will have a week long trip in August where I will be out of town. I have a decently sized fenced in yard with plenty of toys and room for playing. I also have a dog and two cats who are very friendly.
About: I’ve have one Doberman that my dad made sure I was apart of the their training and raising. So I pick up poop every week, wash them when they’re dirty, walk them every other day since she’s about 5-6 months old so has a lot of energy. I also take her to vet appointments and I help feed her dinner. I’m very experienced with big dogs and little ones because I have friends and family with dogs that range from chihuahuas to cane corsos/giant schnauzers/Hungarian sheepdog. I can do walks and pet-sit after school. On the weekends I can stay overnight if needed. I’m willing to adjust depending on the situation! A bunch of butt rubs and back scratches! I like to really connect with the dogs so if they prefer silence or tv that’s fine! Also feeding them on time and getting them out to use the bathroom on time helps create that trust and bond! I can play with the dogs to their content since I’m young and have the energy!
“Lee is awesome! They are understanding and caring! Our dog is a lot to handle but Lee is really patient with him. Such a relief to have a dog walker who we can count on! Thanks Lee”

About: I worked at a vet clinic for 3.5 years but due to life changes I now work at a pet store and petsit to continue to work with animals while I work towards my goal of working in vet med again. I’m reliable with my own transportation and am very knowledgeable in proper pet care. I am communicative, compassionate, and attentive to animals and their needs. I have been my own friends’ and family’s pet sitter for the past 5 years and I treat every animal as if they were my own while in my care. My whole life revolves around animals; I have 4 cats of my own and have fostered 15 animals successfully in the past year, ranging from cats of all ages, dogs, and Guinea pigs. I also work directly with animals at my job and am looking to continue that path. I have multiple rooms in my home to separate the animals in my care if needed, I have access to professional services if an emergency were to arise while also having knowledge of what to look for in with different medical conditions that can be present in animals. I have a good understanding of animal behavior and I understand their needs.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have experience with a variety of breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’m especially comfortable with large dogs and understand the importance of providing them with plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and opportunities to burn off energy. Over the years, I’ve regularly pet sat for family friends who trusted me to care for their pet while they were away. My experience includes caring for senior dogs who require extra patience and attention, as well as energetic puppies who thrive with structure, play, and consistent supervision. I also have experience caring for cats, including my own two cats at home. I understand that every cat has a unique personality and comfort level, and I take the time to build trust while providing attentive, individualized care. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members are in good hands. Currently working part time on Wed & Fri mornings. I do have some weekends available for sitting. Most availability will be through the week and for walks. Your pets safety and comfort are always top priorities. I take the time to learn each pets routine, preferences, and any special instructions so I can provide consistent care while you’re away. During walks, I stay attentive to my surroundings and your dogs needs, ensuring they get appropriate exercise while remaining safe and secure. For house sitting, I treat your home with the same respect and care I would my own and strive to maintain your pets normal routine to help them feel comfortable. I understand how important it is to trust someone with both your pet and your home. I provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.
“Meet, greet and walk with Mark was great! Franco seemed to have no issues with Mark. I think they’ll be best buds soon! Looking forward to our short holiday break and feel very comfortable with Mark taking care of our bully.”

About: Hi there! My name is a Savannah, I am currently a guide dog mobility instructor and have been working at Guide Dogs for the Blind for 4 years. I have worked in multiple dog boarding facilities and in the animal care industry. I have had the please of working with different dog breeds over the past 4 years. I believe I am very capable at handling strong and difficult or easy going dogs. I would love to get to know your sweet pets and give them some exercise or love. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! I work during the week on a typical schedule (M-F, 8 hours). I try to schedule most walks or drop in’s around my work hours but I am flexible! I would happily do a meet and greet to see if we would be a good fit and of course cater to any animals special needs or special characteristics!
About: I have grown up with both cats and dogs in the house, even one gerbil! Friends, family, and neighbors have relied on me to care for their animals since the age of 12, and I have experience administering medication and feel comfortable with any extra care your pet may require. I am a freelancer and my last contract ended recently. I am appreciating this downtime, which means I have an open schedule to provide care throughout the day for your pets. I would like to meet your pet in their own environment to keep continuity, and am happy to set up a check-in schedule with you for updates about your pet’s day and routine, including pictures if requested.
“What a lovely young woman. Confident, kind, loving toward my animals. I Will definitely have Parrish take care of them again. They loved her and this was such a load off my mind!”
“Stephanie was fantastic. She went above and beyond. She took great care of my dogs. And she did the full walks in the rainstorms. I would definitely recommend and hire her again.”

Will has been walking our elderly dog during these cold months and we couldn’t be happier with his service. We love Will! He makes our lives easier by helping us with our dog and paying close attention to his bumps and aches as he ages. Would recommend Will for anyone who loves their dog but also has a million things on their plate and just needs someone reliable!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
