“Adeline was amazing with our 7 month old Havanese! We can’t wait to use her services again. She has such a calm demeanor and is so kind. You can tell that she really loves caring for your fur babies. Do not pass up the services that Adeline provides, we are thrilled that we found her!”

“Reliable and great to work with. As a one time sit for us on vacation, she quickly at ease and the pups were happy as could be. I would happily ask her to sit again.”

About: Hi, I’m Ellie! I’ve always been the kind of person at a get together who ends up hanging out with the animals. Since middle school, I’ve cared for pets while their owners were away, and over the years that’s grown into friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers trusting me with their pets, homes, and plants. I’ve been around animals my whole life and have experience caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and needs. You can also expect regular updates while you’re away—and probably a few silly photos of your pet along the way. I work full-time Monday through Friday and live close to my workplace, which gives me flexibility to care for pets before and after work. Whether it's an early morning visit, or spending time with pets in the evenings, I’m happy to fit pet care into my routine. For longer-term or more involved care, I’m always open to discussing scheduling needs and finding a solution that works well for both you and your pet. When caring for a pet, I like to connect with the owner beforehand and, if possible, meet the pet as well. This helps me understand their routine, personality, specific care needs, and any special circumstances I should be aware of. I know that new people and environments can sometimes be stressful for pets, so I focus on creating a calm, comfortable, and welcoming experience. My goal is to help pets feel safe, cared for, and as relaxed as possible while maintaining the routines they're used to.
“Allison was absolutely FANTASTIC with Ollie. I love the communication and actually working with Ollie on his walks and manners. Would 10/10 recommend and will be booking with her again!”

About: I never remember a time I was not wanting to be around or take care of a animal around me. I have had my cat since she was a little baby (found her in a box!) and she is now 17 years old! Her and I have been through so much together and she is absolutely my best friend and everyone in my life knows her. We have our own language & there is nothing I wouldn't do for her. I volunteer my days off with rescue dogs and work with them so they can hopefully find their forever home. I have been around almost every dog breed as I used to work at an animal shelter and now volunteer with specific dogs in need. I have been known to rescue cats.. although I have not been able to take them in over the years, I have rescued a few stray cats and found homes for them. Anytime my friends/family need someone to take care of their dog/cat while away.. I am the one to call. I am extremely patient and have always felt connected to animals. I am extremely dependable, time efficient, and very active. I understand the importance of taking care of your animal, as I would expect the same of someone to take care of mine. I currently work full time in dental in Lake Oswego, but have three days off a week including weekends open for pet care and helping you take care of your fur babies! I am very used to being around animals who have anxiety, feel down, scared and confused. I do everything I can do make a dog/cat feel as comfortable as they can while their parents are away. I understand how important it is to make your animal the number one priority and there is nothing else that matters to me than when an animal needs me. I currently have a 17 year old cat. She has to have ear drops, medication for her kidney disease, and she has very long hair as both brush together. She is very sweet to me, but spicy with others as she has been the only one her whole life. I am very comfortable and can understand when a cat asks me to leave it be for a minute or needs to feel me out before being comfortable. I also hold the Fear Free Certification. A course taken to understand cat and dog behaviors, how to approach a situation, and how to care for animals as best as I can to make them comfortable and cared for.
“J Does a great job with my pup and yesterday was super helpful because she drilled him on his commands and helped get some kongs prepped. J is reliable and communicates well.”

About: I grew up with dogs, cats and rabbits I’ve always truly loved animals and spending time with them, taking care of them, giving them all the love and attention they need/deserve. Mainly throughout the years I’ve taken care of cats more and sometimes a few dogs. I’m more fond of cats and know how to give them what they need and when they need space or food I can understand quickly. I’m always happy to care for dogs though especially since it’s fun to go on walks, have playtime with them. I will try my best to make sure every pet feels safe, content and happy with me I currently work part time at the Moda Center and it’s but only twice or once a week so I have most days off and so much free time so I really want to keep busy as much as possible and help people out in the process! I’d like to say I’m an observant person and very caring aswell, I tend to check in a lot even if it’s not needed and keeping track of when pets need to be let out, feed, given medication, any of the sorts im right on time. I also give pets time to adjust to me before jumping into touching them, I like to let them come to me first to make them feel comfortable if they are shy. If they are messy i don’t mind cleaning up a mess/cleaning up poop/pee
About: I have experience caring for a wide variety of pets, though dogs are definitely my favorite! Through my work as a nanny, I’ve cared for animals ranging from tiny Chihuahuas to Great Danes, as well as frogs, lizards, hedgehogs, rats, and fish. I’m also a dog parent to Frankie, my energetic one-year-old pup who keeps me active—we love hiking, playing by the river, and a good game of tug-of-war. I have experience with basic training commands like sit, down, stay, and shake, and I’m happy to reinforce these during visits. I currently walk several dogs each week and also spend time volunteering at a local animal shelter. I currently work part time and have a flexible schedule, so I can usually make any schedule work! I work from home so I can make my own schedule as needed! I live in an apartment so unfortunately no yard but that doesn't stop my pup and our furry friends from getting out and enjoying some exercise time! I live right by a park so it's quite convenient to walk there and play or walk down to the river for some water play!
About: Hello! I'm a lifelong animal lover who understands that pets are family. I share my home with three wonderful pugs—Ozzy, Thor, and Daisy Mae—who keep life full of fun, adventure, and plenty of tail wags. I work from home full time, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide dependable, attentive care for your pets. A typical day for my pugs includes a romp through the park or an adventure exploring Downtown, so I know how important exercise, enrichment, and companionship are for happy, healthy pets. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and birds, and I'm committed to providing compassionate, reliable care that's tailored to each pet's unique personality and routine. During every 30-minute visit, I'll make sure your pet gets plenty of love, attention, playtime, and exercise. Whether it's a walk, a game of fetch, belly rubs, or simply keeping them company, I'll treat them as if they were my own. Communication is a priority for me, so you'll receive updates and photos after every visit, giving you peace of mind and letting you see how much fun your pet is having while you're away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry (or feathered!) family members and providing the same level of care and attention that I give to Ozzy, Thor, and Daisy Mae! I am currently working full-time but I am available mornings, mid afternoons and evenings and can drive to your home for all of your pets needs and spend quality time with your babies. I can come to your home to feed your babies, play with them, clean their litter boxes, and spend time with them so they don't get lonely.
About: I’m uniquely experienced in managing multiple pets, having cared for two or more pets at all times. I understand group dynamics, individual needs, and how to keep every pup happy. I have no obligations during the weekdays after 10am. I am available on weekends as well. I will have a week long trip in August where I will be out of town. I have a decently sized fenced in yard with plenty of toys and room for playing. I also have a dog and two cats who are very friendly.
“Matthew did an amazing job coming by our house to check on our cat and gather our mail. He contacted us with updates on how everything was. Would definitely have him house sit again in the future.”

“This was my first time using Rover and a dog sitter, so I was a little nervous at first — but Kathy immediately put me at ease! She was warm, professional, and clearly experienced with dogs. My pups were relaxed and enjoyed their time with her. I appreciated the updates and photos she sent, which really helped me relax while I was away. I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience — thank you, Kathy!”

“It was great to work with Leandra. She came through on short notice. It was clear from the photos she sent that the dogs loved her. We have just rebooked a handful of additional drop in and house sitting dates.”

Kristen takes such good care of my cranky senior kitty. She sends me the cutest detailed updates that usually have attached videos too, which I love watching, and she goes above and beyond to keep things nice and clean while I'm away. I'm always relieved to leave my cat in her care - thank you Kristen!

Julie did a fantastic job of watching our two cats over the holidays! Great communication and photos of the cats. Our trip was unexpectedly extended by 5 days and Julie kindly continued to care for our cats until we got home. We highly recommend Julie and hope to use her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marylhurst. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
