“Five stars in all ways! Our cats were all happy, healthy, and well adjusted after their time with Charles and he was extremely graceful dealing with some things like unexpected mail and the like! Instructions were followed to the letter and I know the cats appreciated his excellent vocal stylings! We are truly appreciative of his time and help!”

“We were so nervous about leaving our brand new puppy home for the first time while we went back to work. Megan came twice to feed and play with our two pups and was amazing and very communicative. Definitely recommend!”

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong dog owner with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, from playful puppies to gentle seniors. I love dogs and animals so incredibly much - my dog Nellie is my baby. I provide personalized one-on-one dog walking and enrichment visits tailored to your dog’s unique needs, pace, and personality. My background in canine handling has given me additional experience working with dogs who are high-energy, sensitive, anxious, reactive, or simply do better outside of group environments. Whether your dog needs exercise, decompression time, midday support while you work, or enrichment, every visit is designed around what helps your pup feel happiest and most comfortable. You’ll always receive photo updates, a detailed Rover card, and consistent one-on-one care. 🐾 I am currently available full-time and can accommodate walks, drop-ins, or enrichment visits throughout the week. My schedule is flexible; I can work with your preferred days and times to find the best fit. I prioritize one-on-one attention for each dog (siblings too), making sure every visit is calm, structured, and tailored to their needs. 🐩 I am happy to discuss recurring weekly visits or occasional bookings to best fit your dog’s routine. I have a small backyard and in my home I provide a comfortable and pet-friendly environment for your furry friend. I ensure they have their own designated space, whether it's a cozy corner or a separate room, where they can feel safe and relaxed. I maintain a clean and hazard-free living area, removing any potential dangers or toxic substances from their reach. Daily exercise and playtime are essential, and I tailor these activities to your pet's energy level and preferences. If I'm caring for your pet in your home, I strive to maintain their routine as closely as possible. This includes following their regular feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any specific instructions you provide. I'll also keep your home clean and tidy, ensuring your pet is safe and comfortable during your absence. You can expect open communication, with updates and check-ins as often as you prefer.

“Karly was absolutely wonderful!! My love and I were a bit nervous leaving our cat with someone new for the first time but Karly made sure that our girl was loved and cared for during our long week trip. We highly recommended Karly for all pet care needs. We are so relieved to have found a great neighbor that will help take care of our girl while we are away. Plus, she has a new best friend! Thank you for being the best, Karly!!”

“Kathy went above and beyond to care for Saydee. We’re so grateful and 100% would recommend Kathy to anyone looking for attentive care for their pet. Saydee enjoyed a very comfortable stay at her house and we were worry-free knowing that she was really well looked after.”

About: Pets have always been a part of my life, and I pride myself on treating others' animals with the same tenderness and attention that I give my own pets. I am gentle and intuitive friendly human to all critters, and love dogs and cats equally. I pay attention to the details in terms of the animals needs and signals and am happy to communicate anything that seems odd or that I am unsure about. I am an educator on summer break and have great availability. There will be a week here or there when I am helping at school, but otherwise my schedule is wide open. I take great care to follow owner instructions. I make a point to connect with pets do matter how brief a visit is. Kindness, trust, and communication are at the top of my list. This includes keeping your house and pet secure as I am coming and going.
“Seth has been great! Dogs loved him immediately, even my timid one warmed up relatively quick. He's also been flexible and tolerant of my changing needs when things come up.”

“Thank you so much Katie for caring for my fur babies in short notice and during a holiday season!! Thank you again for being there for them! I look forward to having your assistance again in the future!”

“J Does a great job with my pup and yesterday was super helpful because she drilled him on his commands and helped get some kongs prepped. J is reliable and communicates well.”

“ChristyLynn was able to accommodate a last minute drop in request. She was great with the dogs, they sense right away if someone is a dog person and she definitely is. She asked if it was ok for her girls to come for an evening visit and the dogs loved that. Great communication and appreciated the pics. Will definitely use her again.”

About: I grew up with dogs, cats and rabbits I’ve always truly loved animals and spending time with them, taking care of them, giving them all the love and attention they need/deserve. Mainly throughout the years I’ve taken care of cats more and sometimes a few dogs. I’m more fond of cats and know how to give them what they need and when they need space or food I can understand quickly. I’m always happy to care for dogs though especially since it’s fun to go on walks, have playtime with them. I will try my best to make sure every pet feels safe, content and happy with me I currently work part time at the Moda Center and it’s but only twice or once a week so I have most days off and so much free time so I really want to keep busy as much as possible and help people out in the process! I’d like to say I’m an observant person and very caring aswell, I tend to check in a lot even if it’s not needed and keeping track of when pets need to be let out, feed, given medication, any of the sorts im right on time. I also give pets time to adjust to me before jumping into touching them, I like to let them come to me first to make them feel comfortable if they are shy. If they are messy i don’t mind cleaning up a mess/cleaning up poop/pee
“Allison was absolutely FANTASTIC with Ollie. I love the communication and actually working with Ollie on his walks and manners. Would 10/10 recommend and will be booking with her again!”

About: Have experience raising puppies and bottle feeding as young as 3 weeks. I have worked with puppies as well as providing care and medication for our older puppies on end of life care. I love my animals like my family and I will love yours as if they are my own! I have two dogs of my own at home so I am used to incorporating potty and feeding times into my daily schedules. I work a nontraditional schedule and I am often available mid day and weekends! I have a small fenced in backyard as well as ample places to provide walks to your dogs in the area immediately surrounding my apartment complex. I do live with two dogs and one cat in my home.
“Camille and Shayla were amazing with my cat, and are very lovely people. My cat is very shy towards new people, and they respected his boundaries. He came out of his shell after a few days of them stopping by. I appreciated their detailed reports.”

“Thank you, Lucinda, for dropping in and snuggling with Marco. He was very eager to get out of the crate when I got home as well! Can’t blame the little guy.”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life, and have cared for both large and small dogs, cats of many shapes and sizes, and even horses and birds. I have experience with senior dogs, high-energy breeds, lap cats, anxious pets— I think all of them deserve love and quality care equally. I’m also a very active person and will make sure dogs get regular walks— I believe a well-exercised dog makes everyone happier! I work full-time Sun-Thurs, and unfortunately I’m not able to have any pets of my own (yet) due to house rules. Because of this I’m always grateful for the opportunity to get some quality time with pets. Earning an animal’s trust and learning about what makes them unique is a beautiful feeling, and the knowledge that I’m helping someone out at the same time makes it even better. I’m currently taking classes, so my main focus on weekends is schoolwork, which means I have plenty of reason to stay in and hang out with the pets. I think this works great for house-sitting since I am staying in to study for the most part, aka lots of quality time spent with your loved ones! I am very conscientious about what I’m doing in someone else’s home and make a point to leave it how I found it, if not better. When it comes to house sitting, I am able to spend much of the day at the house and stay overnight with them, which provides a sense of security and companionship for your babies. I believe pets are most comfortable in their home environment so my goal is to keep their stress as low as possible, caring for them the same way they are used to- ie. timed feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks; whatever I can do to keep everyone happy and healthy. I know how hard being away from your fur babies can be, so I make sure to take lots of photos to send!
About: I have experience with caring for pets, especially when it comes to senior care, thanks to my own two cats who I had from early childhood to my early adult years. I played with them, fed and cleaned them, and took great care of them when they both reached old age. This does not mean I only have experience caring for cats though, as I have spent time with and would help care for the dogs of my friends and neighbors, and have a love for animals in general, researching and learning facts about many different species. I am a college student who is off for the summer, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I would be available from Sunday to Thursday in the mornings and the afternoons. I would make sure that all the doors are locked and that anything that could pose as a danger to the pet would be kept out of their sight.

Kristen takes such good care of my cranky senior kitty. She sends me the cutest detailed updates that usually have attached videos too, which I love watching, and she goes above and beyond to keep things nice and clean while I'm away. I'm always relieved to leave my cat in her care - thank you Kristen!

She was absolutely lovely from start to finish. We got the introductory meeting quickly and the boys were delighted to meet her- she followed their routine wonderfully and they obviously found her the trustworthy sort. While I was gone, I received lovely pictures of my happy boys and came home to them well tended. I’m grateful for her work with them.

Tanja was so professional, flexible and most importantly caring! My cats were not only fed and watered, but given love, scritches, brushies and play time. My shy cat even finally came out to say hi! She went above and beyond in helping out and cleaning up messes. Tanja took diligent notes, followed my instructions carefully, and communicated with us the entire time we were gone! Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Milwaukie. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
