My cat is not comfortable around strangers, so I was impressed to get a Rover Card showing her allowing Madeline to pet her about halfway through my trip! About: I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs. I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting. I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.

About: Raised cats and dogs with my kids. Learned from a friend about how to handle dogs who are reactive on the leash. I enjoy being with your pets in your home so the pets feel comfortable with you being away. I do work a full time job and therefore I am unavailable during the day. I do realize most pets may need a midday check in and that can always be arranged. I am able to work from home as a special request. I am very honest and caring of all pets in your home. I take pictures and write daily story of our adventures. Everyone loves pictures and stories of their pets. I want our experience to be fun for both of us.
