“Jamie and Nicole took very good care of our dog and kept us posted with many happy photos. Our dog seemed to miss Jamie and Nicole the first night we took him home. We highly recommend them!”

“Leslie’s home was a great Home away from home for our dog! She provided lots of care, updates, and home made treats. Our dog was completely comfortable in her home, which has a large fenced in backyard and lots of places to rest and snuggle!”

“Veronica was very attentive and sent pics, Bogey seemed to be having a blast! She has an excellent setup at her house and is a trustworthy and caring person. Thank you Veronica for the TLC you gave Bogey while I was out of town backpacking! Much appreciated!!”

“Pancho had the best week ever with Chelsea and her family! He was taken wonderful care of and had so much fun playing with their dogs. Chelsea sent lots of cute pictures and updates, and we are thankful for her great communication and fantastic service. Thanks so much!”

“Paul was great to work with. I loved all the photos and updates he shared during our time away. Georgia immediately felt welcomed and was excited to be in Paul’s home.”

“My doggos have never been more chill! When I picked them up Shauna walked them out and they were genuinely surprised to see me standing there. They were well cared for and we will want to be on the repeat list! Big thanks for all the good care and snuggles too.”

“Barbara is a great awesome caregiver for my Maggie. She kept us updated every day and it seemed like Maggie probably didn’t wanna come home cause barber shows a lot of love towards animals. I would recommend her highly.”

“Hollie was GREAT! Took excellent care of my dog and regularly sent photos and videos of all the fun they were having at the dog park. It put me at ease knowing that my dog was in such good hands. Will definitely be booking again!”

“Hope is absolutely incredible at taking care of dogs. She had Margo for over a week and it was the best experience for both our dog and us. We got consistent updates from Hope and I really appreciated the opportunity to meet with Hope and her dog beforehand to ensure our dogs would get along. I also really appreciated that she did not take on multiple dogs at the same time so our dog could get the attention and care she needs. I will definitely be using Hope again in the future!”

“Tommy is caring and loving, and you'll be getting a lot of updates from him. His price is amazing, and I thought it was too good to be true at first, but he exceeded every single one of my expectations. Will definitely bring my babies back the next time I'm out of town”

“Scott is without a doubt home away from home for my two dogs! I’m so happy I found him. He communicates frequently and sends lots of pictures for those of you who miss your babies terribly when you travel :) He’s my go-to from here on out. When I picked them up today, they were excited to see me by not AS excited as they typically are...that just means they didn’t want to leave haha!”

“Allison is a wonderful sitter. We left our very anxious pup, Kira, with her while away and Allison was so great! She gave us plenty of updates to let us know how how she was doing, found creative ways to keep our dog taking her meds and eating her meals, and was even able to get a leash on her for walks (something other sitters have struggled with). I am very happy to have found Allison and will definitely be calling her again in the future.”

“Emily was wonderful! She did a meet-up prior to our pup’s stay to ask questions and become familiar with our senior dog. She provided pictures throughout the stay and even trimmed my pup’s nails because she is a trained vet tech, and it’s been so difficult for me to get her in for an appointment. I would definitely recommend Emily because I will be rebooking her again for my next vacation!”

“Kathy and her daughter, home from college, were such fantastic, flexible, and dependable care takers for our two pups. I had surgery and a family emergency all at the same time when Kathy stepped in to be a complete lifesaver. Our pups are quite attached and love cuddles. I could tell both from the photos she shared and how our pups behaved after their stay that they were well cared for and loved. Thank you!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Harmony Point
My dog Nellie had the best time with Lauren! Nellie was spoiled with lots of play time and trips to the park, and I felt extremely comfortable and confident leaving her in Lauren’s care. I received lots of updates and Lauren was patient with all of Nellie’s quirks. Highly recommend!

Rob maintains a calm presence and healthy environment for pets- really appreciated his communication, kindness to animals and general demeanor. His back yard is fenced and safe for dogs and he’s a short distance from the springwater corridor trail for walks. Looking forward to having my pups stay with him again.

Our long time dog sitter retired so we had to find a new one. Thankfully we found Linda. She did a great job taking care of our dog while we where out of town. She sent pictures every day and we could see he was safe and having a good time. We could not be happier with how she cared for Benji.

Absolutely WONDERFUL! Maggie watched my dog for three nights when I needed someone last minute. She and her other pups welcomed us and made us feel comfortable. While I was gone, I got sweet photos and updates. She has a great backyard and is safe for running and playing. My dog will definitely be back! We love Maggie and her guys! So happy we found her.

Marybeth was amazing with my dog Wendy! My dog can be a little nervous with new people but I could tell from the pictures I received that she was having so much fun at Marybeth’s house. Marybeth was great at sending me updates and communicating. I would definitely recommend!

Chelsea and her husband were amazing. We left our 9 year old black lab with them for three nights while we were out of town and we could not have been more comforted that he was in good hands. Chelsea sent several photos and messages and was an amazing communicator. They are obviously big dog lovers and our dog clearly loved being at their house. Highly recommend!

This was Sampson’s second time staying with Theresa and she was wonderful once again! She is great at sending pictures and updates throughout his stay and I feel so comfortable knowing he is in great hands with her. She is clearly such an animal lover and takes great care of him. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for dog care!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Harmony Point home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Harmony Point.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Harmony Point sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
