About: I've had cats and dogs of my own since childhood, when I was given responsibility from a young age to feed and care for them. In adulthood, that experience has continued by looking after the homes and pets of my friends whenever they are away. Whether they be large old dogs, small scrappy pups, or asthmatic cats that need administered medication, in houses or apartments, I've got these experiences to pull from, and look forward to making new ones! I work full-time from 8:30am - 5pm on weekdays. I have weekends off. I'm happy to spend as much time as needed with your pet in my available time! I will discuss with you and ask for written instructions on the details of the care routine your pet(s) are used to and what they require to remain happy and healthy in my care! In addition, my philosophy while house-sitting is to leave the space looking as tidy as it did before I arrived. I'm clean and considerate of other people's spaces.
“Maddie was a great and attentive sitter to my cat! She made sure to go over his quirks and routines and I felt like he was in good hands. He’s people-selective and took to her immediately. All of his things were also clean and tidy when I returned.”

“ChristyLynn was able to accommodate a last minute drop in request. She was great with the dogs, they sense right away if someone is a dog person and she definitely is. She asked if it was ok for her girls to come for an evening visit and the dogs loved that. Great communication and appreciated the pics. Will definitely use her again.”

“Kathleen was wonderful with our three cats. As per usual with cats, each is a little peculiar. Kathleen adjusted to each cat easily. Clearly an animal person! Made amazing progress with our shyest scaredy-est cat. The social one was spunky and happy when we got home thanks to Kathleen giving her the play and attention that she needed while we were gone. And the feral one got fed so he was happy too.”

About: I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs. I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting. I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.
“Simon made my first time using Rover so easy. I received a report for each visit - with photos, which was comforting. Simon is very responsive, and easy to work with. I would definitely hire again!”

“Raphael does a great job with my pets - one of which is very senior, blind and deaf. His reports are very helpful and he is always responsive to messages. I would hire him again every time.”

About: As a lifelong animal person, I’ve always had pets in the house. I believe in balancing care and compassion with the right amount of play and stimulation for a happy and healthy animal. I grew up with 4 small dogs and 3 cats. I currently have a VERY high energy 80lbs lab mix and a black cat 🐈⬛ I have years of experience pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family. I will treat your animal as my own and give them all the love and pets they deserve!! I work remotely so I’m available during work days for dog walks and pet sitting. Summer weekends can be busy but I will be local and available! Every animal has a different personality and I have experience caring for those that are social and need time to warm up. I understand animal body language when they feel scared or threatened and feel confident removing them from that specific situation. You know your animal best and I will follow your instructions to ensure they have the best experience!
“I would absolutely recommend Mary for all pet sitting needs. We were on a three week long road trip, and Mary's dedication to care and communication while we were away significantly helped mitigate the anxiety of leaving our kitties for so long. Their happiness really shone through in all of the photo updates we received.”

“Camille and Shayla were amazing with my cat, and are very lovely people. My cat is very shy towards new people, and they respected his boundaries. He came out of his shell after a few days of them stopping by. I appreciated their detailed reports.”

About: Hello! I'm a very conscientious and loving pet walker/drop-in sitter who will go above and beyond to make sure your four-legged family member feels safe and loved. I've had dogs and cats my whole life (varying sizes/breeds), and have had a range of experiences with them, including handling medical conditions, training, and making sure they get enough exercise. I also used to work at a pet retail store for multiple years and have gained a wealth of experience in how best to care for pets. I would love to help give your pet some love and care while you're away! I'm happy to give couch cuddles, play time, walks, and basic needs. I look forward to taking care of your pet and giving them great care! I have a flexible remote work schedule most days, so my availability for sitting visits is pretty open! I am available for drop-in visits and walks. When visiting a pet in your home, I am very respectful of your space and focus on making sure your pet is taken care of. I check all food and water bowls, making sure they’re clean, making sure the environment is still safe how you left it, and giving them any needed enrichment like play time, cuddles, walks, etc that you’ve outlined.
“Kena did a great job & was very conscientious in her car of Murphy. She asked questions when needed to know something, which I really appreciated. I will definitely use her when booking another reservation!”

“Melanie is beyond awesome. I was concerned that my shy but very food motivated cat might have inadvertently locked herself in a room or closet when she didn’t show herself one feeding visit. Melanie went back to the house to locate the cat, and ease my mind. Fantastic care.”

“Charlie is the absolute best cat sitter ever! I have used his 4-5 times for a few days to 2 weeks. My cat adores him! He provides great updates and pictures. I know my kitty’s needs are well taken care of when I am gone.”

“Lynden and Timothy did a great job taking care of my 2 bullies for the weekend. They also do drop in visits one day a week for me. They always take great care and send great photos as well.”

“Chelsea was such a thoughtful and caring pet sitter for my anxious scaredy cat. I really appreciated Chelsea’s attention to detail and great communication. Chelsea gave my cat medicine and made sure all her needs were met! Chelsea was awesome & would definitely rebook!”

“Dominique is wonderful w our two dogs. We have one rather shy girl, and he really took the time get to know her and make her feel comfortable. Now she snuggles with him whenever he visits. He’s attuned to dog body language, and it’s clear that he truly loves spending time with the animals he’s caring for. He’s there for the snuggles, fetch games, & making our dogs happy. He sends detailed reports and photos w each visit. And he’s a very upbeat, enjoyable fellow to be around. Recommend!”

I cannot recommend Angela enough. Our cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes and requires blood sugar checks and insulin injections. Angela handled this perfectly and provided thorough updates on his status. She came over to learn how to care for him and took detailed notes. Angela is very professional and clearly has a deep love for animals. She is a pleasure to work with. Look no further— you’ve found your pet care angel!

Elinor took great care of our high needs geriatric cat. With progressive kidney failure and a long list of medicines, our cat has a specific medical schedule and Elinor stepped into our routine seamlessly. She's a professional vet tech and was able to do the subcutaneous water daily. We appreciated her support with our sweet, but high maintenance cat.

Chelsea was such a thoughtful and caring pet sitter for my anxious scaredy cat. I really appreciated Chelsea’s attention to detail and great communication. Chelsea gave my cat medicine and made sure all her needs were met! Chelsea was awesome & would definitely rebook!

Rob dropped in on my two cats for a week. He proved to be intuitive and thorough with the feeding and litter box cleanings. He made friends easily with my cats, even with the younger, more skittish one. She has been known to hide for at least a week with other caregivers, but warmed to Rob in a couple of days. i would not hesitate to recommend Rob for any pet care needs.

Claire was fantastic! She spent plenty of quality time with my cats, played with them during every visit, and made sure everything was left clean and in great condition. She was also very communicative and always sent lots of photos and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I could tell my cats were well cared for and happy. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring cat sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
