“Megan is kind, communicative, and a natural with animals! She cared for my dog and two cats while my husband and I were out of town, and I didn’t feel stressed at all being away from them because I knew they were in good hands. She made a little collage of each of my girls, and it was so sweet!”

“Tayler was amazing! Both of my boys warmed right up to her. She sent video and photo updates every day, sometimes more than once a day. I appreciated knowing my dogs were comfortable around her and were well taken care of. I’d definitely book with Tayler again in the future and would definitely recommend her to others as well.”

“Kiana is amazing. She immediately bonded with our dog, who can be wary of new people. She took great care of our pup and our house. Her attentiveness helped us to have a relaxing vacation. We will definitely book her again.”

“Adeline did a great job. Exactly what we asked for. She checked in with us during her stay. Respoinsive when we contacted her. Foxy and Gray Guy were fine when we got home.”

“Lauren did a fantastic job with all of our animals (a dog, cat, and three chickens). They were all happy when we got home. She kept us informed and sent daily pictures of their adventures. 😀”

“Donna was incredibly professional. She was on time for our meet and greet, and she was also on time at 6:00 am for sitting! She came fully prepared and spent the day loving my dog. She sent photos and played with him. I would 100% book with her again.”

“Heather was amazing! Communication was timely and thorough. My two large dogs loved her and my cat is 19 years old and I think he did too. I don’t know if he knows what’s going on most of the time and typically just wanders the house looking for food, even after he just ate - I digress. She followed every request to the letter, was very kind and checked in regularly, even got some super cute photos. I’d giver her 6/5 stars if I could. I will be asking for her by name from now on. Highly recommend (except when we need her, then I don’t ;)~”

“Merry is the best pet sitter we have had! She was attentive to everything even paying attention to the best time of day to exercise the dogs based on weather conditions. She sent lots of much appreciated photos. Highly recommend!”

“Melinda took excellent care of our pets and home. She was communicative, dependable, and very accommodating when our plans unexpectedly changed. She even gave our cat, Tiger, her inhaler without any issues—something we were a bit nervous about, but she handled it with ease. We felt completely confident leaving everything in her hands. We'd absolutely work with her again.”

“Scott continues to be the best sitter ever. He is great at communicating, our dog loves him so much, he takes our dog on great adventures, and our home looks like he wasn’t even here. We love having him and I think our dog might be sad we’re home and Scott isn’t here!”

“I was looking for someone to stay with my kitties while i was away for several days. Naiya was thorough with the details and making sure she had all the information needed. She was communicative and attentive during the stay. She let me know one of the cats was not eating as well and had vomited. I was not worried and knew she had things under control. She also sent lots of pictures! I would definitely trust Naiya to take care of the girls in the future!”

“Chardonay took great care of my 2 dogs while I was out of town. Communication before and during my travel was great, and I received lots of photo updates. 😊 I came home to some very relaxed pups and a tidy house. Will definitely book with her again!”

“We recently hired Kay to petsit overnight in our home for 8 days while we were out of state for business and vacation. She did an absolutely fantastic job taking care of our 2 dogs, a younger male Samoyed and a senior, special needs female Siberian Husky, 2 senior male cats, and 4 male cockatiel birds. Our Siberian Husky also required the administration of daily oral medications. Kay kept in daily communication with us regarding the status of our dogs, cats, and birds, sent us daily photos of our pets, and promptly responded to any of our questions, concerns, or inquiries. Our pets appeared calm, relaxed, and happy in the photos Kay sent to us. Kay also went above and beyond her petsitting duties by bringing in several large packages that were delivered to our home, coordinating access to our home for an outside service vendor, and leaving our house in a clean and orderly manner upon our return. Kay was a pleasure to work with, is responsible and mature, takes her responsibilities seriously, and exudes a true love, joy, and compassion for taking care of animals. Kay definitely put our minds at ease while we were on our trip knowing that our fur and feather babies were getting lots of attention and excellent care during our absence. We would not hesitate to hire Kay again in the future should the need arise. We highly recommend Kay's services to other pet parents. Thank you so much Kay!”

“Renee was a natural with my cat can be very picky about people. Renee took time to come meet Ziggy beforehand which made a works of difference. I came back to a happy cat, a clean home, and very sweet treats left for both Ziggy and me. Thanks Renee!”

“Michael was fantastic. He was open to meeting on short notice and saved the day when our original sitter fell through. He's a real pro and was so attentive to our pups. We'd absolutely book him again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lents
Abigail did an amazing job! Scout (my dog) adores her. She was flexible when travel plans slightly changed. It was so nice not having to worry about Scout when we are out of town. He was well cared for. Abigail sent pictures and updated me on how Scout was doing frequently which was wonderful.. I will definitely hire Abigail again!
I cannot say enough good things about Claire! She was available last minute after our usual sitter fell ill. She was able to come for a meet and greet the day before we left and we knew she would be perfect. We were only gone 3 days but everything chaotic that could have happened during that time, did! Cats escaped and wouldn’t come inside at night, one of our ducks had ducklings unexpectedly, one of the dogs got sick - Claire handled it all professionally, creatively, and just plain amazingly. Thank you Claire, from the bottom of our hearts! We needed a short getaway and are so grateful to you.

Eden was amazing, patient and kind. My new dog, Willow, needed someone calm and chill and she warmed up to Eden more so than to others. I really appreciate Eden’s understanding of dogs, her flexibility in me changing my dates and her taking care of my house, dogs and garden! Thank you, Eden!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lents walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lents maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lents choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lents. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
