“Adeline did a great job. Exactly what we asked for. She checked in with us during her stay. Respoinsive when we contacted her. Foxy and Gray Guy were fine when we got home.”

“Kaylee was great! My pups have some special needs and are not the.best rained. Kaylee did a fantastic job making them feel safe and happy. I will definitely look to book Kaylee again!”

“Tayler did a great job of watching our pets for the week. She was patient with our chihuahua mix that has a hard time trusting new people. She sent photos and checked in every day. Our pets were happy when we got home and our house was just as we left it. Would definitely recommend Tayler for pet sitting!”

“Kiana did a wonderful job with our sweet dog! She was super responsible - with an initial meet and greet, check in beforehand and updates throughout her stay. Birdie took to her immediately, and we came home to a clean home and a happy dog!”

“Rachelle was absolutely fabulous! Took Odie for walks and even took him to two different dog parks over the Weekend and sent lots of pics and updates plus I contacted her last minute she was flexible and quite frankly I was totally impressed with her handling of the dog and her 3&1/2 year old daughter was adorable with my dog as well. Highly recommend Rachelle”

“Matt did a terrific job caring for my senior Great Dane, Fred. I was very relieved to be able to go on my trip and not be concerned or feeling stressed about my pet and the care he was receiving. The entire week went smoothly and Matt kept me informed how things were going at home. I definitely will use Matt’s services again when my plans call for someone to stay and care for Fred when travel becomes necessary for me. Thank you Matt for excellent service”

“Lauren did a fantastic job with all of our animals (a dog, cat, and three chickens). They were all happy when we got home. She kept us informed and sent daily pictures of their adventures. 😀”

“Mackenzie is skilled with animals and was able and to build a rapport with my skittish cat quickly. This was a warm up meeting for a longer visit this summer. She has put my mind at ease that he will be well cared for when I am gone.”

“Alicia was an awesome house sitter! I'd recommend her for anyone. We were gone for a week and Alicia gave us every update we needed and went above and beyond our expectations. We had total piece of mind with Alicia watching our pup for the week. 5-stars, no doubt!”

“She was so great. Dogs were really happy and she even trimmed our doodles eyes so she could see. We are behind schedule for her grooming. :) Would have her again anytime we need to seek out a dog sitter again in future if she’d have us as clients again 🦋”

“Jamie was everything you hope for in a pet sitter. The dogs were relaxed and in great spirits when we got home and the house was spotless. Jamie sent pictures and communicated regularly letting us know how everything was going. We have to French bulldogs that both have daily meds and he kept everything organized and on schedule.”

About: I bring over 5 years of hands-on pet care experience across long-term house sitting, international shelter work, and specialized medical care. My background includes a 6-month, full-time house sit caring for three dogs and two cats, where I managed strict health regimens—including administering medications every 2 hours at precise times for a dog with a neurological seizure disorder, treating skin conditions and wounds, and managing flea care. I am trained in emergency response and comfortable handling complex medical schedules. Additionally, I volunteered for a year at a shelter in India caring for 60+ dogs, providing physical therapy to paralyzed dogs, assistance with vaccinations, behavioral training, and custom dietary meal prep. Locally, I volunteered at Multnomah County Animal Services, completing intensive training in medication administration and enrichment. I'm certified in Pet First Aid through American Red Cross. Through TrustedHousesitters and caring for friends' pets, I regularly handle multi-week stays for both dogs and cats, ensuring consistent routines, high-level medical attentiveness, and dedicated care. As a freelancer with a fully flexible schedule, I have plenty of time to give your pets the dedicated attention they deserve. I am available for long-term house sitting, weekend stays, and drop-in visits or walks any day between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM. I prioritize safe, precise, and low-stress care above all else. Certified in American Red Cross Pet First Aid, I am fully equipped to administer oral and topical medications, handle intensive wound care, and maintain extensive care schedules. Because I specialize in caring for anxious cats and special needs pets, I maintain a calm, quiet, and secure environment tailored to your pet's specific routine and comfort level.

“We couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter! It was such a relief knowing our pets were happy, loved, and well cared for in their familiar environment. Mercedes kept us updated, was incredibly reliable, and left our home in great condition. We would absolutely trust her with our pets again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional pet care.”

“merry was great with my dog! they were very thorough and made sure they had al the necessary info to take care of him, and i was very confident that we would be well taken care of while i was gone! highly recommend (:”

“Our first time with Celeste and we were very happy with her care of our fur kids. She took care of our two old pups - one who loves everyone and one who is less than thrilled with humans in general. The grumpy guy even liked her. And our three-legged cat was happy too. We got photos and videos daily, and everyone seemed happy and content. We will definitely have Celeste over again.”

Avalon was absolutely wonderful! She took excellent care of my eight years old dachshund Strudi and the home, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was with her. She was so thoughtful and attentive, and even baked homemade treats for Strudi and left him a sweet little toy that he absolutely adores. It was clear how much care and affection she gave him. I would happily have Avalon take care of Strudi again and highly recommend her!

Kaylee was great. It was our first time leaving our dog at home for an extended trip. She gave us updates with pictures, took her on walks, took her to the park, everything was in great shape when we got back. She also took great care of our cat. We would definitely use her services again.

Jamie is an excellent pet and house sitter. He is reliable, a great communicator, and thorough. He follows my instructions with minimal need for reminders or oversight. Out of all of the sitters, I feel most comfortable leaving my best friend and house in his hands. Thank you!

Addy took exceptional care of our dogs and home while we were away for a long weekend. She brings genuine warmth and confidence to her work, and we had complete peace of mind throughout our trip. Her check-ins were always on time, and it was such a treat to receive photos of our happy pups. We came home to well-cared-for dogs and a tidy home. We couldn’t recommend Addy more highly!

Sydney has watched our two dogs twice now, and we couldn't be happier with the care she provides. She's an excellent communicator, keeping us updated while we're away, which gives us so much peace of mind. We always come home to two happy, healthy dogs and an incredibly clean house. It's clear she genuinely cares for our dogs and treats our home with respect. We highly recommend Sydney to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and trustworthy pet sitter.

Wonderful as always! this was a repeat petsitting gig because my cat was very well cared for the first time around :) Shelly is trustworthy, reliable, communicative, and always goes above and beyond. I'd absolutely recommend her, and will keep hiring her for my senior kitty's care!!

Kiana was kind enough to help with a last minute booking after my other Rover canceled the night before my trip - I was so grateful. She was detail oriented, communicated well, took good care of my 2 dogs, and left the house clean! I would book again. Thank you Kiana! 🐶❤️

Jax watched our two little dogs for a week and did an excellent job. We could tell our dogs were comfortable with Jax from the meet and greet and they seemed happy and relaxed when we got home. Jax sent daily photos and was responsible for their medications and supplements. Jax kept our house tidy and clean and even washed our sheets before he left, which wasn't requested but was appreciated. We wouldn't hesitate to book with Jax again!

Mackenzie checked every box for me. She did house sitting for my asthmatic senior kitty with some health needs. She gave me as many updates as I asked with lots of pics and even a video. Not only that, but she followed all of my notes thoroughly and she kept my house extremely clean. There is nothing better than coming back from a long trip to a house left exactly as you left it. I will 1000000% be hiring Mackenzie again. My cat seemed to really like her too! Lots of snuggles.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oatfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oatfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oatfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oatfield. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
